Future Proof Coverage, with a few small caveats
What do you like best about the product?
Total tracking without planning, the ability to go 'back in time' for analysis, and the ability to combine data points. We also love that it is easy to combine with our larger data warehouse and empower both the engineering/digital product team as well as the data analytics team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of New/Returning user distinction in queries, and the lack of bounce rate readily available within the application. Additionally it can be confusing when certain aspects are available in some reports but not others (e.g. 'Session' is available in graph but not in funnel analysis?)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap has really helped us to deep dive into problems or opportunities that we may never have planned for if we used a more traditional analytics tool. We still tool for specific analytics, but there are countless times when Heap's ability to cover all DOM events has helped us uncover behaviors that help us make decisions and improve our site. Additionally, it's ability to accept data from Segment, and contribute to our Data Warehouse has strengthened our overall analytics capabilities.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Even if you have another analytics tool, consider Heap as a solid support option to cover everything you don't think of or plan for in your regular analytics plan.

What do you like best about the product?
The detail of the data provided and the clarity of it. Knowing that all of the clicks on page and

Session times being limited to 30 minutes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
High-level questions like, "What are users doing most on our platform?" but moving deeper into the why of what they are doing
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure that you have your KPIs in a row before you deploy this product. it grabs everything! if you're not clear on what it is you are trying to accomplish you can get lost in the data.

Lack of precise control over timeframes on graphs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Very easy to identify segments of users who I, as a product manager, can contact.

Keep to a strict naming convention for events.

What do you like best about the product?
For me, the best thing about Heap is I don't need to know what I don't know when I begin testing or analyzing. The core principle of capturing everything and allowing you to define after the fact is so helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was more flexibility in the rolling date ranges. The 1, 7, or 30 days as defaults, although helpful, don't always fit every analysis I want to do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am curring working on solving two user interaction bottlenecks. Heap has allowed me to narrow my focus on the funnel interaction to determine the exact spots in the user flow that need to be adjusted.

What do you like best about the product?
customizable, detailed, gives broad scope for analytics

can be confusing and difficult to train others in it, custom reporting took quite a bit of setup, requires a data analytics background

we are creating a learning platform and are trying to determine our customers behavior; we've connected certain courses to positive customer outcomes and are following that
Very useful insight and outstanding customer service
What do you like best about the product?
Auryc provides a unique way to get insight on user experience all the while providing great hands-on one to one customer support. We are quite satisfied with everything Auryc has provided.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say more so that there are opportunities to improve Auryc further. Both with the types of data collected and with ways of viewing the data in more ways so that specific troubleshooting cases can be done easier
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to spot and resolve quite a few issues so far with the help of Auryc and we kinda just got started.
Quick trial went well but client doesn't want to pay for it yet.
What do you like best about the product?
I really liked virtual events and the ability to retroactively assign interaction labels. This blew my mind actually. I've always appreciated getting really granular with individual user sessions and the user-centric schema you have is gold.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setup, in the beginning, can be a bit daunting, mostly because it's a powerful system and I have yet to make it up the learning curve. It's overwhelming how much it can do and be hard to find some data to focus on first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to better show clients the interaction in their customer's journey. Gleaning actionable data from an easier to identify funneled approach to making a path through a website to a goal.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's powerful. Way more insights to be had than with a free Google Analytics account.

The level of detail we get from Heap Analytics has fundamentally changed our channel reporting. It's the backbone of our attribution and marketing analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
For an early user I could see Heap being a bit more intimidating than other analytics tools.

Marketing channel attribution and user journey mapping.

Once installed, it just collects and you can label data after the fact

sometimes it's a little hard to find users / answer specific questions if you don't pass certain identifiers on events/pages. Historically, limited mobile app analytics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
understanding what's happening on our site
A great way for easy analytics and decoupling analytics from the dev cycle
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to click into form elements and have the events show up! This allowed us to (mostly) decouple the marketing team from the dev team for funnels.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not always intuitive, has a learning curve, and it can be challenging to have things work perfectly depending on your site structure.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analytics for business decisions. We've found that we can tackle analytics in an easy way vs. having tons of events.

Don't be afraid to learn the documentation, there is a lot to go through.
