Incredibly powerful software, support is lacking
What do you like best about the product?
This is lightyears ahead of Quickbooks in functionality. Having all AP/AR related transactions in one place is incredible. Now we are even intergarted with Acupay so can collect payments from clients much more effiently than in the past.
What do you dislike about the product?
Fortis pay ease of implementation would be a 0. Then getting support on the Acumatica side is impossible, we paid a small fortune to our VAR partner for support but never got the solution we wanted. It would be great to have a support team from Acumatica that would not be $250/hr. There is so much to learn and not enough time to stop and watch tutorials.
Importing time cards is very challenging as well. Correcting time cards is also frustrating when jobs are closed or if you are only correcting one line but the entire time card is resubmitted so the client will see that on every project, unrelated to the correction, that the employee worked on in that time card.
Invoice templates are my biggest issue with Acumatica, it really isn't user friendly to change the format of invoices.

Invoicing clients is full of checks and balances which is great. We can run over 100 projects at a time thanks to Acumatica.

Company switching to Acumatica
What do you like best about the product?
My company just switched over to acumatica from Sage. We like the in depth options we get, as well as the ability to costumize everything to out needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is definately a big learning curve with this and some things that don't translate but they provide excellent support and training.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Work flow and accesiblilty are much greater
Acumatica cloud ERP meets the expectations of medium-sized companies in the construction industry.
What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is simple and easy to use, and it is fast compared to other cloud business management software.
What do you dislike about the product?
Technically, some tables or views retain unused fields and this complicates reports and queries when updating versions. Also, I would like to see more options for intercompany integration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With this, we control the budget and cost of our projects, in addition to executing payments in an authorization process. It allows the use of multiple companies in the same database.
New to Acumatica
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it is cloud-based. I can easily reconcile bank account, even without the bank feed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The bank feed doesn't work. When setting up a memorized transaction (i.e. payroll general journal), I don't want to put any default amount in the g/ls since it changes week by week. It would be nice if it would save the transaction that the debit or credit is highlighted as the default.
I didn't like the training process. A lot was very redundant and we ending up training the trainer. Very frustrating.
We use subaccounts. It would be nice to "lock out" subaccounts for specific general ledgers accounts.

Great Plains was no longer being supported, and we needed to look at another accounting system.
Implemention and training have been a breeze.
What do you like best about the product?
Modern cloud based ERP soluion that is highly scalable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Roller ball on mouse does not move cursor, have to use the slider bar on the side. Takes some getting used to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ours is a new business so we are ale to scale features as needed and reduce cost of ownership by not paying for modules that are not needed at first.
Failed implementation
What do you like best about the product?
Accounting and WMS is all in one package.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have an extremely slow environment which is frustrating for our employees and most procedures require more time and steps/screens than we had prior.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is an all-in-one system that reconciles itself
Acumatica is a great upgrade path for Dynamics SL companies (and probably Dynamics GP)
What do you like best about the product?
We like both the depth of features across the varied modules and the flexibility of the platform to be extended/modified. We also like the partner-based model, as that is what we have had for years with Dynamics SL. With our extensive SL experience, we have found our implementation of Acumatica to be easier than we expected.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, we do have significant complaints about Acumatica. I would say we would like to see more low-code/no-code workflow capabilities across the platform. Also, the security setup is complex (albeit powerful), so continuing to enhance the ease-of-use of the application security would be desirable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are leveraging Acumatica to be our primary accounting system as well as a basis for our operational client billing and management sytem in the Home Care industry. We are using the Field Service components along side of the project accounting aspects plus we are significantly extending the product with the Acumatica development platform. This is all to replace our heavily customized Dynamics SL system that we need to migrate away from.
NEW ACUMATICA USER MEDIUM SIZE COMPANY
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the ability to drill down into detail all the way to the original entry module. I like the cloud based software and the tabs in the project module have alot of good data. Relatively ease to use for an accountant, my project admin staff is struggling a bit to understand the nomenclature used and frankly at times it confused me.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not feel the reporting in ACUMATICA is well thought out. It does not appear to have been created by end users in mind. The canned reports are not often perid sensitive based, especially in the projects module. the purchase orders process is not ideal as if a line is not closed before marking the po complete, the line shows open in many areas of ACUMATICA. The proposal function is unappealing and customers have stated that is looks terrible. And if you are a construction company with alot of invoices and PO the AP module is not functional and an add on is required.
Well integration was tough mostly because we needed to integration PROCORE and we changed payroll providers as the same time and went to WFG. I would never recommend this to anyone but it had to be done.

Trying to have ACUMATICA help solve our poor project reporting options in our old SAGE 300 program and have better access to detailed transactions and data than SAGE 300.
Best software that we've used in years
What do you like best about the product?
We like that Acumatica is consistantly releaseing major and minor updates and always striving to imporove their system. Their customization platform is also amazing. We have the ability to modify all parts of the system, adding fields, logic, screens in an upgrade safe way. We have minimal issues with our customizations conflicting with major updates. Customer support is also exceptional, the case portal is well organized and the responses are timely and they strive to stay on point to resolve the issue.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their Report Designer has many limitations which requires alot of creative thinking to get the results needed. General inquiries also have limitations but have improved with new releases. The Dashboards also have limitations and can be tempermental to work with and modify.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had a separate ERP and CRM system befor switching to Acumatica. We used the CRM for Project Management and the ERP for Project Accounting. The two systems did not communicate with each other so all data from one to the other was hand keyed. With Acumatica, everything is in one software and makes our lives much easier. We can now focuse on the essentials like closing month end, before the next month end, completeing all billings before the cutoff dates, and researching ways to improve the system for our needs.
Happier than I thought
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Acumatica is a filtering software. I can access several pieces of information just by filtering.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not knowing all the avenues I can use Acumatica. I suspect there are alot more features I can take advantage of. It appears to be learn as you go.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making our accounting become electronic. We are now able to have a better handle on reporting, etc. Other users have the ability to look for information themselves also, instead of contacting finance directly.
