Overview
Zilla Plus is an enterprise-ready, Kafka-native edge, and service proxy. It is a flexible, secure, and reliable way of creating stateless, multi-protocol API entry points into your Redpanda cluster for both native and non-native Kafka clients.
With Zilla Plus, you can also expose topics inside your Redpanda cluster via declaratively defined REST, SSE, gRPC, and MQTT APIs.
See the CloudFormation template(s) below to facilitate configuring and deploying Zilla Plus for your connectivity use case.
Once Zilla Plus is deployed, its configuration can be updated to support additional connectivity patterns, i.e. a single Zilla instance can support Kafka, REST, and MQTT clients at once.

IoT Ingest and Control
The following Cloudformation template configures Zilla Plus as an MQTT-Kafka proxy that enables creating MQTT entry points into your Redpanda cluster. MQTT clients can use the entry points to directly publish and subscribe to topics.
With Zilla Plus your Redpanda cluster is turned into a fully-fledged MQTT broker, removing the need to run a dedicated MQTT stack (broker + Kafka Connect) for ingesting IoT data into a streaming set up.
Key features include:
-MQTT v5 and v3.1.1 Support: Zilla supports both major versions of the MQTT protocol, ensuring it works with legacy and modern IoT clients.
-MQTT-Kafka Proxying: Zilla maintains MQTT client state across Kafka topics, providing all of the features and guarantees of a dedicated MQTT broker, such as Keep-Alive, Last Will and Testament, and all three Quality of Service (QOS 0, 1, 2) agreements. MQTT over WebSocket is also supported, so you can use Zilla to deliver MQTT messages from Kafka down to a browser.
-Manage Millions of Clients: Zilla is stateless, scales out linearly and handles MQTT to Kafka connection offloading.
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."
