In its first week, more than 400 attendees came through the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Federal Pop-Up Loft in Arlington, Virginia to attend training sessions, utilize co-working space, ask questions at the expert bar, and more. The loft, a community space for federal employees and partners, is open through September 18. From September 4-18, the AWS Federal Pop-Up Loft will be open at the Convene meeting space at 1201 Wilson Blvd in Rosslyn, Virginia. The temporary community space will unite federal customers and partners to learn and innovate together. So, what does the AWS Federal Pop-Up Loft have to offer?

Enlighten IT Consulting, an AWS Managed Service Partner, is the prime integrator for the Department of Defense (DoD) Big Data Platform (BDP). BDP is a fully accredited government-owned platform used for storing, querying, and analyzing cyber data that runs at petabyte scale in AWS GovCloud (US). The BDP has been adopted by multiple defense and federal civilian agencies as the primary security information event management solution (SIEM) due to its ability to support petabyte-scale data ingest, processing, storage, and visualization without the burden of licensing cost or lock-in.

Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) is an important part of the federal government’s cybersecurity strategy, and it’s getting a boost in visibility since the House passed the Advancing Cybersecurity Diagnostics and Mitigation Act (H.R. 6443). Among other things, this Act directs the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to develop and provide the capability to collect, analyze, and visualize government-wide information relating to security data and cybersecurity risks and to make these program capabilities available for use by any federal agency.
