How National University worked with AWS Partner ConcernCenter to provide scalable, customizable mental health support
At National University (NU), a California-based university serving a high proportion of military and adult learners, the COVID-19 pandemic drove an increase in student requests for support. With nearly 20,000 in-classroom and online students nationwide, offering quality support during the pandemic was challenging. NU worked with ConcernCenter, an AWS Partner, to develop customized and scalable mental wellness support options for their students.

Largest metastatic cancer dataset now available at no cost to researchers worldwide
The NYUMets team, led by Dr. Eric Oermann at NYU Langone Medical Center, is collaborating with AWS Open Data, NVIDIA, and Medical Open Network for Artificial Intelligence (MONAI), to develop an open science approach to support researchers to help as many patients with metastatic cancer as possible. With support from the AWS Open Data Sponsorship Program, the NYUMets: Brain dataset is now openly available at no cost to researchers around the world.

AWS launches first GovTech Accelerator to drive innovation in government
To help government technology (GovTech) startups build solutions that enable government agencies to better serve their communities, AWS is launching its first AWS GovTech Accelerator. This inaugural program is now accepting applications from startups interested in leveraging cloud-based resources to accelerate innovation. AWS wants to help startups develop solutions that address the needs of government agencies, with the first cohort focused on justice and public safety organizations including courts, corrections, emergency services, and law enforcement. Applications open today and close Monday, July 10, 2023.
AWS Partner Transformation Program (PTP) expands to help AWS Partners accelerate their cloud business
AWS is expanding its Partner Transformation Program (PTP) with a suite of Targeted Transformation Modules (TTMs) to help AWS Partners accelerate their cloud journey through tailored guidance and support. These new TTMs, available now, provide topic-specific workshops designed to complement standard PTP engagement. Developed in collaboration with our partners, the two TTMs currently available to partners are the Cloud Enablement Engine (CEE) and the CFO Cloud Conversations (CCC).
Deloitte’s Smart Factory Believers Program empowers next-generation STEM learning at District of Columbia Public Schools with support from AWS
Deloitte’s Smart Factory Believers program was established as The Smart Factory @ Wichita’s purpose mission and is a collaborative initiative that brings together world-leading organizations, including AWS, Elenco Electronics, the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI), and others, to help foster new learning opportunities for middle school-aged children in underserved communities. Today, Deloitte and AWS announced an expansion of the program to the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS). Within the next three years, Smart Factory Believers aims to impact more than 1,600 students in the DC metro area.
AWS and Halcyon announce climate resilience fellowship cohort
AWS announced the 2023 cohort of the Halcyon Climate Resilience in Latin America and the Caribbean Fellowship. AWS is sponsoring this fellowship with Halcyon, a Washington, DC-based nonprofit supporting impact-driven startups, to accelerate solutions that address the compounding effects of climate change. The focus of this fellowship is to help 10 innovative startups address the intersection of climate change and social determinants of health to provide more equitable health and life outcomes.
