AWS Database Blog
Your guide to Amazon Managed Blockchain and Amazon QLDB breakouts, workshops, and chalk talks at AWS re:Invent 2021
AWS re:Invent 2021 is here! This post includes a complete list of Amazon Managed Blockchain and Amazon Quantum Ledger Database (Amazon QLDB) sessions taking place at re:Invent 2021. This year we have five total sessions on Managed Blockchain and Amazon QLDB, including one breakout, three chalk talks sessions, and one workshop. Make sure to sign up for reserved seating to book a spot!
You should consider attending this track if you want to take part in the following:
- Learn about enterprise use cases of blockchain and ledger technology with customers like Global Rockstar, BlockFi, CasperLabs, Port of Vancouver, ArcBlock, and many others
- Hear about the innovation and feature details behind Managed Blockchain and Amazon QLDB, directly from our product and engineering teams
- Get hands-on experience and build sample applications with our experts
Breakouts
BLC201 – Amazon Managed Blockchain: When to use blockchain
Building enterprise blockchain applications on your own infrastructure is often expensive, complicated, and time-consuming. Amazon Managed Blockchain makes it easy to build scalable blockchain applications by eliminating the need to set up and manage infrastructure, allowing you to focus on writing applications for your business. This session helps you identify if blockchain is a good solution for you and what type of blockchain is best suited for your use case. Also, hear customer stories from decentralized finance, financial services, automotive, aviation, gaming, public sector, sustainability, and more. Also hear from AWS customer Global Rockstar about their use case of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Workshops
BLC302 – Building an Ethereum app with Amazon Managed Blockchain
Ethereum popularized the concept of smart contracts, enabling a multitude of decentralized applications that securely run on a blockchain. Amazon Managed Blockchain is a fully managed service that makes it easy to join the public Ethereum network, eliminating the overhead required to set up the necessary infrastructure. In this session, learn how to use Managed Blockchain and service integrations to set up popular architecture patterns among Ethereum workloads.
Chalk talks
BLC304-R1 & BLC304-R2 – Making legal contracts smarter
Smart legal contracts is an emerging technology in the legal tech domain that is targeted at increasing the efficiency of key stages of the legal contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiation, signing, and verification of terms and conditions after the initial contracting phases. In this chalk talk, learn about the key building blocks of this technology and look at the benefits that blockchain and ledger databases bring based on two use cases: company incorporation with tokenized shares and digital trade with tokenized ownership of bill of lading documents.
DAT321 – Managing optimistic concurrency in Amazon QLDB
Amazon QLDB is a fully managed ledger database that provides a transparent, immutable, and cryptographically verifiable transaction log owned by a central trusted authority. This class of database eliminates the need to engage in the complex development effort of building ledger functionality. In this chalk talk, learn about the Amazon QLDB optimistic concurrency model and control mechanism, unexpected ways optimistic concurrency control exceptions can occur, how to design data models and queries to reduce collisions, and the importance of idempotent transactions.
BLC301-R1 & BLC302-R2 – Zero to hero: Building your first NFT on blockchain
Curious how blockchain, Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and digital assets can transform your customers’ businesses? Then this chalk talk is for you! Verification and ledger technologies including blockchain services like Amazon Managed Blockchain help businesses transform their operations while providing transparency and cutting costs. By tokenizing physical and digital assets, customers are able to shorten settlement times, reduce potential cost risks, and create new business models. Join this chalk talk to hear from AWS blockchain veterans and get hands on creating your first digital assets on the Ethereum blockchain.
AWS Village @ Expo
