Throughout AWS re:Invent 2020, theCUBE delivered news desk style coverage in a unique conversational video interview format. One of the ways we do this is by focusing our investments on independent software vendors (ISVs) that extend the reach of the AWS Cloud and provide our customers with more choice. These trusted AWS Partners provide feature-rich experiences on AWS to support customers’ enterprise IT needs.

A new 2020 IDC study shows the VMware Cloud on AWS service provides significant business and operational value to customers in improving their IT infrastructure, and delivers flexibility, agility, and scalability to their business. In this study, IDC uncovers that on average, customers will realize an estimated 479 percent ROI over five years, so it makes sense that our customers became evangelists on the benefits of VMware Cloud on AWS to their business.

Domain Name System (DNS) is a critical component of any infrastructure as it provides the hostname to IP address resolution that applications rely on. VMware Cloud on AWS customers have many options to implement hybrid DNS solutions, ranging from self-hosted to fully managed native services from AWS. Learn about DNS architectures that use native AWS services as well as traditional Active Directory designs, as well as integration with Amazon Route 53 Private Hosted Zones and inbound endpoints.

VMworld 2020 will be a completely virtual global event running from September 29 to October 1. This digital event promises to be just as informative and engaging as previous years. There will be keynotes, sessions, hands-on labs, virtual booths, and more. More than 500 channel partners have achieved a VMware Cloud on AWS service competency, including 43 with a Master Services Competency, and there are more than 300 certified or validated technology solutions available to VMware Cloud on AWS customers.

Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops secures the delivery of Windows, Linux, Web, or SaaS applications and desktops to any device. Running Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops on VMware Cloud on AWS lets you use the same management tools and desktop images as on your on-premises VMware vSphere environment. You can easily extend your Citrix workload to the cloud and take advantage of AWS on-demand delivery, global footprint, elasticity, and scalability to meet your business objectives.

Oracle customers have common questions about their licensing options when considering deployment to AWS. Oracle customers who do not proactively confirm their options risk spending too much on licensing. Customers may also face an Oracle audit that could expose avoidable license compliance issues. AWS has a variety of options for customers considering deployment of Oracle to AWS. When done properly, customers can significantly optimize their Oracle license costs when deploying to the proper AWS service.

VMware Cloud on AWS allows customers to seamlessly extend their Layer 2 on-premises networks to the cloud. This is important because you can migrate virtual machines from on-premises Layer 2 networks to VMware Cloud on AWS without changing IP addresses. Learn about the architectural considerations for extending your on-premises networks to VMware Cloud on AWS using HCX and the NSX Autonomous Standalone Edge, either via AWS Direct Connect or through the public internet.
