We are pleased to announce that Elastic Load Balancing now provides an API that can be used to access service limits for Application Load Balancers and Classic Load Balancers. Prior to the availability of this API, customers needed to contact AWS Support or use Trusted Advisor in order to check their existing service limits for load balancers.
Service limits applicable to a particular account may previously have been changed from their default values on the customer’s request. The Limits API serves as a convenient mechanism for AWS customers to get ‘on-demand’ access to their prevailing Elastic Load Balancing service limits for all their AWS accounts.
Customers can use this API to obtain the limits for number of Application and Classic Load Balancers, number of target-groups, targets, listeners and rules for the Application Load Balancer, as well as number of listeners for the Classic Load Balancer.
