Creating interactive web maps and apps
What do you like best about the product?
It allows me to create web apps with some analysis tools. It helps me to analyse my data in fastest way in ArcGIS Online
What do you dislike about the product?
Only 1 year subscription and very limited ArcGIS Online service credits. It also doesn't show the consumed service credits for the specific features that stored or used for analysis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There should be a window or link in ArcGIS Online where I can identify the service credits that will be conusumed when running a analysis tool.

I have used ArcGIS Online for our educational outreach program.
What do you like best about the product?
The best aspects of AGOL is that is online based so there are not downloads of software needed. In addition there is a free version for people to try which is very helpful with beginners.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are clearly not as many options or ways to customize as there are in ArcGIS desktop.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I created a statewide map of schools for the National Arc high/Middle School Mapping Competition. It was very easy to integrate this map with a story map I created for the event.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are a lot of videos, lessons, training materials available for AGOL so I think it is easy to teach yourself how to use this program.
Streamlines Everything
What do you like best about the product?
I love that the administrator can allow different users access to the same files. It makes it really easy to create maps instead of having to look for files on your computer. The simpler interface is also aesthetically pleasing and simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do think there could be more tools integrated from the ArcMap Desktop version
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Instead of having to purchase multiple licenses of a desktop software we are able to collaborate and pool our shapefiles and resources together to make presenting content quicker and easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need any type of mapping services, ArcGIS is the way to go, It's easy to use and creates beautiful informative maps
ArcGIS online - Great resource for students
What do you like best about the product?
I can show my students maps in real time rather than in a textbook. They can also create their own maps. This increases engagement in class.
What do you dislike about the product?
ArcGis is excellent, I really do not have anything I dislike besides logins for students being a bit cumbersome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My students are instantly more engaged and are more productive spatially. They want to discover all that maps can do.
Very useful only for professionals
What do you like best about the product?
It incorporates a large number of tools to analyze data, you can process bitmap files, radar files and other formats.
What do you dislike about the product?
You have to have good hardware to avoid processing problems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my work we use ArcGIS to create maps of basic labels, we also use the Geowizard where we can model the spatial data using statistical methods and see how they behave in a certain place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This software is amazing and has become a very useful tool for me. I am very satisfied with the features and capabilities of this software.

There are some functions unavailable at arcgis online like joins and relate.

Geospatial analysis.
Online, Light GIS Platform for the Entry-Level GIS Analyst
What do you like best about the product?
The ArcGIS Online platform is incredibly easy to pick up and play with. This is coming from someone with little to no formal GIS experience. I was able to load in layers from the organization and get down to some simple analyses and geospatial information right out of the gate. This is such a great advancement for the average user. I am a huge supporter.
What do you dislike about the product?
The credit system for any type of analysis really hurts this software in my opinion. I blew through a ton of credits accidentally.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Geospatial analyses of points of interest. I also pull premade layers looking at legislative districts and census tracts, paired with the information I enter.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Research Credit system. It can be a make or break kind of thing with this platform. I personally don't like it. It is easy to accidentally use them all up. If you know what you are doing, you can save those analyses for the desktop version while using this for simple analyses.
Great web apps
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create a professional level map and then publish it to a user friendly web app is outstanding.
What do you dislike about the product?
The process for being able to edit the web map once a web app has been published isn't clear. I spend quite a bit of time having to modify both things so that they reflect the most recent changes. It could be user error but it is tedious.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using this for both my education and to create maps for student populations. The benefit of ArcGIS online is that users can view the data on their phone in a mobile friendly environment
Creates great shareable maps
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of creating data rich maps that can be understood by anyone.
What do you dislike about the product?
Layer import and export could be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I worked with it as a student and as an intern and it allowed me to create a map book.
ArcGIS Online
What do you like best about the product?
ESRI continues to push the frontier on usability with an intuitive interface, even for the novice in map making.
What do you dislike about the product?
Compared to the desktop version of ArcGIS, the online version how a little ways to go. It would greatly benefit from additional options to compute large amounts of data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ArcGIS Online offers a quick, easy way, and eye catching way to analyze and visualize place for any customer set.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use this tool to visualize data but remember, as of now, options are limited to fully exploit data across the board.
