    Computer Software

Decent tool, awful business practices

  • February 10, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Generally a modern application that has many of the features of its competitors. Liftoff is a pretty cool tool that allows for a better onboarding experience than some other products.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their support team is not very helpful, and their responses are often canned and don't actually help you fix your issue. They make a lot of promises about having great support all of which have proven to be false.

Their reporting and logging functionality doesn't support what we need for SOC 2 compliance.

Their billing and contractual practices are horrible. They force you to purchase a set number of licenses in fairly large buckets, and if you want to purchase more licenses, they force you to restart a new 12-month contract. I've never seen any company do this. It's definitely a short-sighted ploy to force customers to renew their contract outside of their regular contract period.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mobile device management, employee onboarding of hardware, auditing requirements, device configuration and monitoring. Some of the onboarding tools provide a very nice onboarding experience for end-users.

What do you like best about the product?
I loved the short response times from the Kandji team. They were quick to help with all our migration questions and allowed us to make the process iterative and low-risk! Kandji helped us save money and time.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a couple of features that we would like to see implemented. However, Kandji outperformed the competition in most areas that were critical for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We standardized and simplified the provisioning and device management for our laptops.

The MDM for Mac I Wish We Had Discovered First

  • February 03, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, fast and efficient roll out, quick responses from support, solid security, easy integrations, simple installation for users and cost effective. Kandji gives a lot of the benefits of a deeper, more complicated MDM solution while still remaining relatively lightweight.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's great to have so many preset security settings to apply in a blueprint; however, it would be helpful to have a quick reference on what those settings are intended for, to make faster and more informed decisions on whether we believe they are necessary to meet our risk appetite.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a more feature rich, reliable and efficient solution for our MDM for our Mac based company. We were also wanting a solution that could stay relatively light weight and be easy to manage. We needed to make sure we could meet our compliance requirements, but didn't want our users to lose a lot of the freedoms they may need to perform their roles.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The Kandji team went above and beyond in all our discussions. We needed a simple solution for a relatively small user base, and they still went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed at every step.

    Hospital & Health Care

The most Apple-esque macOS management platform. Kandji is simple yet granular.

  • February 02, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Kandji automates so much of the deployment and management process for macOS and iOS devices. Kandji has transformed our TAT for onboarding, offboarding, and troubleshooting.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ability to perform a remote screen share or login would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Automating onboarding and offboarding
- Automating Application deployment
- Automating macOS configurations

Apple DM at its finest

  • February 01, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of setup, breadth of policies, freely available policy templates. Support is outstanding!
What do you dislike about the product?
App configuration isn't straightforward, but that's more of an Apple issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Standardized device config, policy based device restrictions, remote support (wipe, passcode, etc.)

Lightweight and effective MDM

  • January 28, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simple, fast and intuitive. You can still automate complicated tasks if you want, but Kandji comes with a lot of automations ready, and you can make everything work even without knowing black magic or sanskrit, as it's often the case with other MDM solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
It makes you lazy. That's the only actual defect I can see.
Also, in a mixed environment, the ease of use and the results obtained might get you some nasty looks from your colleagues working with other MDMs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote installation and customization of iMacs and Macbooks for several subsidiaries worldwide, it makes the job really easy on the local IT support side so you are saving both money and time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're using a "classic" MDM or are not using one, and you're managing more than forty/fifty devices, give Kandji a serious try.

    Non-Profit Organization Management

Great MDM solution

  • January 28, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to enroll and manage the fleet or laptops. Integration with 3rd party applications are very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing is found at the moment. The only issue that we found was administering admin accounts on the laptops, however, the support team quickly assisted us in resolving the issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mobile Device Management and Inventory Management.

    Financial Services

Easy to use, especially for a non-IT person like myself

  • January 25, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is easy to navigate and the blueprints are easy to set up. I like how its designed to be super user friendly so you don't have to be an IT person.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the UI organization leaves some things to be desired. There some things that are a little hidden in the product that I think could be easier to find, but that's it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The mobile device supervision. We weren't tracking company technology assets before. Now we have a way to see everything. Makes my life a lot simpler.

Kandji is going after Jamf with the big guns and winning

  • January 20, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
With Kandji, you get 99% of what Jamf does out of the box with a far more intuitive interface and setup time to get 100% deployed can be a day or less compared to Jamf's two weeks
What do you dislike about the product?
As with any new player, there's growing pains and little niggles. But nothing I've encountered has been a show stopper
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems I'm solving are the ones that Kandji is designed for, Apple MDM. It gets the job done without me having to continually work within the application
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The founders of Kandji did Jamf consulting for a decade. They got tired of working with a platform that wasn't evolving with the times or their customers. They saw the changing needs and times of their customers. Jamf wasn't going to work with them to develop their product more. So they started Kandji. I first got introduced to Kandji very early with their product. It blew me away that someone made an MDM solution that was clearly far easier to work in than Jamf. The concepts and principals of it were very easy to understand and the PoC I did I had running in a couple days.

Fast forward to my previous job where we migrated from Workspace One and current job where there was no MDM solution. My team was shocked to see that I had Kandji running in a day and deploying it to devices.

Will you get all the bells and whistles of Jamf? No. But you don't need them and Kandji is adding features and functionality at a very fast pace. Keep in mind that Jamf's UI hasn't changed much in the last 15 years when the product was called Casper.

Will you get a first class Apple device MDM solution that your management team and end users alike will enjoy using. Absolutely. Kandji gets the job done with less hassle, less man power and lets you sleep at night.

The best part, is, Kandji doesn't act like they're the only game in town and they're not going to strongarm you on pricing like Jamf will.
