Came for the Nutanix integration...stayed because it is a great product
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, lots of builtin features and solid performance. Works when we need it to.
Support is helpful whenever we need assistance or upgrades.

What do you dislike about the product?
We don't know everything it can do. We use it as a backup and restore engine, but I think we could utilize other features (software cataloging, etc) better.

file level restores as well as server backups and restores
Easiest to Use Backup Solution
What do you like best about the product?
HYCU has been a great backup solution. Our old solution failed to keep up with the times and when it was time to upgrade HYCU provided us the perfect solution. I have been able to recover from lost data to many times to remember. The few times I have needed tech support they responded quickly and helped resolve the issues on the first call. Could not be happier.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have been using HYCU for 3 years and I have not found any negatives to report.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Backup Policies. Sometimes I have had to ask the best method for backing up specific machines.
Dependable / reliable backups
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to work with. The GUI is easy to understand and use. With the reports, you can be sure you got you backups. It is also easy to test and confirm as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside I had have been answered in the new version. Changes to scanning for ransomware and new DR options.

Making sure my data is backed up incase of disaster.

Simplicity → Faster deployment and easier day-to-day operations.
Efficiency → Lower infrastructure costs, optimized storage use.
Reliability → Application-consistent backups = safe restores.
Flexibility → Protects on-prem, multi-cloud, and SaaS workloads under one roof.
Agility → Enables migration/DR to the cloud quickly.
Confidence → Workloads show “protected” status if a valid restore point exists → compliance made visible.

The ease of doing work for complex workloads.

The limitation in terms of deduplication
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hycu is agent less makes the process smooth. The UI is clean till now no issues.
Best application for growing institutions.
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing is the compatibility with Nutanix AHV and AWS. Providing us agentless backup methodology.
What do you dislike about the product?
HYCU is a best application for small and medium institutions. Heavier customer infrastructure includes multiple AHV/vSphere clusters containing thousands of VMs. Where we could see some performance issues.

HYCU Deployment and Use
What do you like best about the product?
Easy and swift deployment model. Built on a Nutanix environment and was operational in under an hour. We had never used it before and the ease to commission and configure is a huge benefit.
What do you dislike about the product?
We havent found one yet, there are some requirements if using Nutanix Files for the subsequent storage layers, but it looks like this is a Nutanix requirement not HYCU.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to backup our new Nutanix based clusters as our existing system did not support our requirements. HYCU was chosen to do the job and it completes this and much more with ease.

Straight forward regarding design and deployment

Few compatibilities in terms of hypervisor support, only VMware and Nutanix.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nutanix AHV support. As a Pre-sales dedicated for Dell Data Protection, it is hard for me to position a backup solution for Nutanix AHV. Good thing HYCU is partnered with Dell, this solves most of my challenges when it comes to providing backup solution solely for Nutanix scenario.

No support for HyperV, but new version supports the Azure Stack so maybe in the future given that's what HyperV is moving toward.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cost vs function
Backups are not an option these days and making sure that your backup is resilient against ransomware is critical

Best secure easy to use backup system
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to learn and administer. It works as promised. I use it in a Nutanix environment, and it has been the best backup software. Ease of use is a no brainer anyone can learn it. It has all the features most for free where we have to pay for other vendors.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found one yet to complain about two years and counting
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Transferring the data to the cloud with ease is the plus in my opinion. Setting immutable backups on the fly is an extra bonus.
