Quickbase is easy to learn and use with huge upsides for our company.

What do you like best about the product?
Quickbase is straightforward and easy to use, even for someone like me who is self-taught. I was able to build three apps before I even met with a trainer, and it has been a good tool for organizing and centralizing our processes. I like that it allows us to keep everything in one place instead of needing separate apps for communication, inventory, and other tasks. That is a big deal for us because we are a small but growing company, and we do not have the time or resources to juggle multiple systems. It is also flexible enough that I can tweak things as we grow or as our needs change.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our biggest issue before Quickbase was communication. We run two shifts in our chemical manufacturing facility, and information wasn’t always getting passed down properly—things like equipment issues, inventory levels, or what stage a batch was in. We started with paper forms, but they were not cutting it. With Quickbase, we have been able to create apps that help us track and share this information more effectively. It has made communication between shifts a lot smoother, which is something everyone here appreciates.

Another benefit is having everything centralized. Before, we were using different tools for different tasks, and it was a hassle. Now, we can manage things like inventory and production tracking all in one place. It has also helped us keep up with our growth. When I started here, we had around eight employees; now we are at nearly 50. Quickbase has made it easier to scale without adding unnecessary complexity. That said, I am always looking for ways to improve what we have built. I am self-taught, so I know there are probably better ways to do some things. But even with that, Quickbase has been a solid solution for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quickbase has helped with numerous communication gaps that we were having at our company. With all information in one location and available on any device with internet access we can provide the best products to our customers and the best working environment to our employees.

Quickbase has changed the game

  • March 25, 2025

What do you like best about the product?
Quickbase works for me because it’s simple to use and feels intuitive, especially since I’m not an IT guy—I’m an accountant. It’s similar to Excel in how I can visualize and build processes, which makes it easy for me to create what I need without needing a coder. I also like that it’s flexible. I can build something that fits exactly how we run our business, and if we need to tweak it, we can. It’s not a one-size-fits-all solution, which is important for us. Another thing I appreciate is how Quickbase lets us manage everything from the point of sale to the point of swinging a hammer. It handles commissions, task management, and ensures things are done the right way. That kind of control is key for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
The app could do with an update but other than that it's perfect for what we do
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Quickbase, we were using Google Sheets, which caused all kinds of issues. It wasn’t secure, and it wasn’t built to handle the complexity of our business. At my previous company, we used a Microsoft Access database, but that required hiring someone with specific expertise to maintain it. Quickbase has been a great middle ground—it’s more secure and capable than Google Sheets but doesn’t require a dedicated coder to manage.

With Quickbase, we’ve been able to streamline our operations. It manages everything between the sale and the start of the job, which has made our processes much smoother. It’s also helped us as we’ve grown. For example, we’re splitting our business into two divisions, and Quickbase makes it easy to separate and manage those workflows. We’ve even built a second app specifically for one division, which we can also use as a template for other companies in our dealer network.

The biggest benefit is that Quickbase gives us control and flexibility. We can adapt it to fit our needs, and it’s helped us run our business more efficiently. It’s also a tool I can recommend to others in our industry because I know it works."

Empowers content management and application creation without SQL

  • February 19, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use Quick Base for management purposes. It functions as a content management system that does not require SQL. It allows me to store data, publish pages, and operates as a single-point solution for a no-code, low-code platform.

One of my projects involved creating applications for patients, where forms and pages can be created using different languages like React, with data stored in Quick Base.

What is most valuable?

One of the valuable features of Quick Base is its ability to function as a content management system without the need for SQL. It allows for storing data, publishing pages, and is a no-code, low-code platform.

I used it for patient applications, with forms and pages created in different languages such as React. I can view everything in one place on the Quick Base site. This provides a unified solution without needing different databases or pipelines.

What needs improvement?

The user interface of Quick Base is complex. It can be difficult to navigate, and ideally, it should be simplified to facilitate use by anyone, not just certified individuals.

There is room for improvement in front-end functionalities. I cannot deploy and use front-end features anywhere; they must be deployed inside Quick Base.

The introduction of hooks would allow for easier deployment elsewhere, such as GitHub. Additionally, their APIs have limitations, such as reliance on XML for backend APIs, which restricts their utility.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Quick Base for two to three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate the stability of the solution as eight out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Quick Base has high potential to scale, and I would rate its scalability at nine out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is really good, and I would rate it a nine out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I was previously working with OpenNebula and have now switched to a different vendor.

How was the initial setup?

The setup process is moderate, not simple, and it requires a quick walkthrough of the entire system. A technical person who has experienced a walkthrough can work on it.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Pricing could be cheaper. I rate it around a seven out of ten. Mainly larger companies use it, which influences the pricing structure.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

A main competitor for Quick Base is Salesforce, along with other low-code, no-code platforms.

What other advice do I have?

I prefer Quick Base for its functionality. It allows front-end creation, exposes backend APIs, and doesn't require a separate database.

Overall, I rate the product an eight out of ten, and I can recommend it to others.

As for AI integration, initially, there was no AI use two years ago, however, now some aspects are being integrated. They're exploring how to improve AI on the platform. I rate the overall solution an eight out of ten.

Overall QuickBase Review

  • January 21, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
QuickBase is an intensly powerful tool depending on how it's being used. My organization leverages QuickBase in ways that nearly no one leverages the platform. It's Low-Code to No-Code driven solution makes the platform that much better in being able to generate things on demand.

Pipelines is the bread winner. It's generally easy to integrate with both internal and external functions!

Platform uptime is significantly impressive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the fact that QuickBase deprecates functionality without identical/working alternatives.

Certain Formulaic Items can get a bit tricky and can be tough to implement. There's not enough documentation available related to Formulas where it can get specific to your Application, Enviornment & or Business Needs. Even if you are a QuickBase Expert you will run into some challenges. (This will likely change with the implementation of AI)

The QuickBase Application Table Sizes can sometimes be tough to work within the confines of said table size, due to the maximum table size within QuickBase's Platform, there is a lot of functionality that I am unable to take advantage of as the Data Set Sizes I'd need would quickly exceed the allowed table size. This in turn forces us to build code to generate the equivalent of what we could get out of QuickBase Natively.

Cannot stand that every report you can download from QuickBase has to be in .CSV, would be nice if .XLS or .XLSX is supported, same for PDF Reports. Especially given that Subscription Reports have the ability to email out the same report as a PDF.

If you are not a Jinja Ninja, pipelines can be a bit tough to work with. Native QuickBase fields/sub-fields are widely used within QuickBase however you cannot leverage Pipelines Natively within a "Search Records" step to procure the data you need, instead you'd have to do a Make Request to the QuickBase API's to procure the same data, when you leverage the QuickBase API in many cases you will require Jinja to parse the response payloads which is also tricky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
QuickBase Solves a lot of issues in terms of being a Front End UI for both Internal and External Users.

Data collection is the biggest one, for example. It would take 30 seconds to create a new field, make it visible to a specific user on a form where as if you needed to do this in something like an Angular or React Front End it requires code changes to both the front end and the back end.

In our organizations use case, it's significant that we have the ability to "Stage" all the changes we need to have done which will interface with backend code based solutions.

An excellent platform for quickly prototyping and delivering new data-heavy processes and workflows

  • December 30, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The biggest upside is the platform's instant prototyping for data structures and templated reporting.
You can quickly scale up new data structures and processes to test workflows.

The general customer support is responsive to email/portal queries and questions.
The general interface is easy to use for non-technical users who have any experience with any web-based
The Proserve (purchased block of consulting hours) support is excellent. Quickbase has suite of experts with deep knowledge in specific focus areas - we engaged them around API usage, data validity and overall platform governance - they were engaged.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside of the interface simplicity is the lack of custom controls, logic and validation - if you have complex data entry/data validation needs, you may need to look to other automation platforms to handle data validation.
Luckily, the APIs are near complete coverage and make data automation in and out of the platform easy. The platform scales well to many users and SaaS uptime was never an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quickbase is a great platform to quickly design and scale up workflows, projects and other low-code data-intensive initatives; it provides excellent data visibility for management and analysts. Quickbase is excellent for speed-to-market and iterative design; letting us handle integratins quickly w/o having to design a low-code from scratch.
