Managing a lab out of quickbase with no quickbase experience
What do you like best about the product?
I work in analytical chemistry and diagnostic laboratory operations. I hate paperwork, I hate filing cabinets and when I had a chance to build a lab from scratch I made it clear we would have no paper in the lab. I was shown quickbase by a colleague and within days I was building the basic foundations of a lab information management system. As I got better with Quickbase through the online resources and some third party guidance I was able to build a complete end to end lab information management system. This software can cost over $70k for a small to medium sized lab and we didnt want to get sucked into a static system than was slow to change in our dynamic organization. Now we manage the operation, upgrades and data management internally and everything is custom tailored to our needs
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe I havent had a good look around the learning resources available but I have had trouble getting from "intermediate" to "advanced" user skill abilities. Maybe some basic "this is how you build an app" strategy guidance could be useful. I am still learning so I chop up most of my frustration to skill rather than platform problems. I would love some help if someone wants to spend some time with me though!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our entire lab is managed through quickbase. From sample registration and biobanking storage to results generation and automated data export to patients. Our chemical inventory is linked to our analytical operations so we can track what chemical was used with which pipette or other equipment, when and why.

What do you dislike about the product?
The mobile app isn't as robust as the web version, which might be inconvenient if you're always on your phone. It's not the best for detailed budgeting and financial management, and pulling data from connected tables can be a bit of a headache. Also, setting up dynamic forms isn't very straightforward, and there's no easy way to export your app settings, which could be a hassle if you're managing big projects or switching platforms.

QuickBase is a game-changer for simplifying how you manage your business. It makes creating custom apps a breeze, perfect for streamlining a workflow without needing deep tech skills. It's great at bringing together data from various sources, giving you a clearer picture for making smarter decisions. Plus, it saves time by automating routine tasks and grows with your business, adapting to your evolving needs. In a nutshell, QuickBase is a go-to for staying organized and efficient, making work life a whole lot smoother.

Versatile collaboration tool for any need. From basic database mgmt to robust business processes
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to implement, easy to understand, can be interactive with the users and is easily integrated to any process. No advanced programming is needed to fulfill complex needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are many bugs still. For example the new forms have many errors.

Solves organization of information in one place for any business need.
Lives up to it low code promise, almost.
What do you like best about the product?
I have experience building applications for web and desktops used by a mid-size company in some common languages as well as years of experience writing Quickbase applications. Quickbase does allow you to get very close to the functionality of coded applications in a fraction of the development time. It shines when your users want a new feature. Adding features to a desktop application of any complexity generally takes a while to do right, adding a feature to a quick base application takes a fraction of the time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Web-only interface, A native application with offline data capabilities would help increase the speed of the Workflow. The mobile app is not great. Data changes take multiple clicks and web refreshes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduling, orders for both sales and purchasing, shipping, inventory, and customer-facing forms. Quickbase does all those things well for us. One of the best benefits of moving to Quickbase was getting all of our data in the same place, and reusing the same data across multiple areas. For instance, you put the part of an inventory item in once, and any form across any part of the organization that uses Quickbase can use that data instead of entering it again and potentially getting it wrong.

I like that it is customizable and that they show you how to build it yourself so that you can make changes on your own when comfortable.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish they had their own version of creating pdf forms that could be customizable.

We needed an all in one solution and this definitely provides that for us.

How quickly and efficiently it can track our CRM and our KPIs.

Tech support can be tricky to get a hold of.

Our efficiency has improved drastically since switching over. We can get live data and make changes in the moment rather than having a delayed response.

Security, ease of use, and reliability. Rock-solid and extensible plarform.

Pricing at the low end - they should provide more of a ramp for smaller business.

Speed to value. I can build a system in a day.
Great tool to create apps quickly and build processes around data.

Ability to quickly solve problems building a custom application or by quickly modifying an exisint application on the fly.

Over the past few years, the idea of low/no code has been slowly eroding. The platform is becoming more and more where you need to know more code or hire a company to get more done.

We have built a number of applications from our CRM to contract management. The apps all have the ability to share data between them.
