Empowers content management and application creation without SQL
What is our primary use case?
I use Quick Base for management purposes. It functions as a content management system that does not require SQL. It allows me to store data, publish pages, and operates as a single-point solution for a no-code, low-code platform.
One of my projects involved creating applications for patients, where forms and pages can be created using different languages like React, with data stored in Quick Base.
What is most valuable?
One of the valuable features of Quick Base is its ability to function as a content management system without the need for SQL. It allows for storing data, publishing pages, and is a no-code, low-code platform.
I used it for patient applications, with forms and pages created in different languages such as React. I can view everything in one place on the Quick Base site. This provides a unified solution without needing different databases or pipelines.
What needs improvement?
The user interface of Quick Base is complex. It can be difficult to navigate, and ideally, it should be simplified to facilitate use by anyone, not just certified individuals.
There is room for improvement in front-end functionalities. I cannot deploy and use front-end features anywhere; they must be deployed inside Quick Base.
The introduction of hooks would allow for easier deployment elsewhere, such as GitHub. Additionally, their APIs have limitations, such as reliance on XML for backend APIs, which restricts their utility.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with Quick Base for two to three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I would rate the stability of the solution as eight out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Quick Base has high potential to scale, and I would rate its scalability at nine out of ten.
How are customer service and support?
Technical support is really good, and I would rate it a nine out of ten.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I was previously working with OpenNebula and have now switched to a different vendor.
How was the initial setup?
The setup process is moderate, not simple, and it requires a quick walkthrough of the entire system. A technical person who has experienced a walkthrough can work on it.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Pricing could be cheaper. I rate it around a seven out of ten. Mainly larger companies use it, which influences the pricing structure.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
A main competitor for Quick Base is Salesforce, along with other low-code, no-code platforms.
What other advice do I have?
I prefer Quick Base for its functionality. It allows front-end creation, exposes backend APIs, and doesn't require a separate database.
Overall, I rate the product an eight out of ten, and I can recommend it to others.
As for AI integration, initially, there was no AI use two years ago, however, now some aspects are being integrated. They're exploring how to improve AI on the platform. I rate the overall solution an eight out of ten.
Excellent tool that solves real problems
What do you like best about the product?
The power of table relationships goes beyond compettitors and allows complex solutions to be created with low-code
What do you dislike about the product?
Data centres are only in North America and Europe and the data storage space is limited
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Major Projects reporting and tools
Simple way to create a complex database
What do you like best about the product?
I love that it is an easy platform to create a very personalized database
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some quirks/bugs, but mostly they are minor.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is making it possible to keep track of all aspects of our business in one place.
An excellent platform for quickly prototyping and delivering new data-heavy processes and workflows
What do you like best about the product?
The biggest upside is the platform's instant prototyping for data structures and templated reporting.
You can quickly scale up new data structures and processes to test workflows.
The general customer support is responsive to email/portal queries and questions.
The general interface is easy to use for non-technical users who have any experience with any web-based
The Proserve (purchased block of consulting hours) support is excellent. Quickbase has suite of experts with deep knowledge in specific focus areas - we engaged them around API usage, data validity and overall platform governance - they were engaged.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside of the interface simplicity is the lack of custom controls, logic and validation - if you have complex data entry/data validation needs, you may need to look to other automation platforms to handle data validation.
Luckily, the APIs are near complete coverage and make data automation in and out of the platform easy. The platform scales well to many users and SaaS uptime was never an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quickbase is a great platform to quickly design and scale up workflows, projects and other low-code data-intensive initatives; it provides excellent data visibility for management and analysts. Quickbase is excellent for speed-to-market and iterative design; letting us handle integratins quickly w/o having to design a low-code from scratch.
Easy to Use Tool for Custom Apps
What do you like best about the product?
It makes it easy to create apps without knowing how to code. drag-and-drop feature and ready templates save a lot of time. it also connects well with other tools and easy to implement as a newbie as well
What do you dislike about the product?
It is expensive, especially for smaller businesses, Sometimes advance customization is not as easy and might require deeper knowledge of the product, User interface can be better
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us maintian many data domains into 1 place like projects, people, sites etc. It also saves time by automating tasks and reducing mistakes in our data. we use Quickbase webhooks for real-time data which helps us keep our data and system upto date
Great for many use cases - could run more smoothly
What do you like best about the product?
I like that my team members that aren't famliar with operating databases are able to easily use custom dashboards and create reports. The similarities to industry standard tools like Microsoft Excel make it easy for non-technical experts to get the information they need.
What do you dislike about the product?
It seems that the team is falling into the all-too-common trap of adding AI enabled bells and whistles while some of its basic features fall short. I very basic problem that I CONSISTENTLY have is form fields not pulling information from related tables seamlessly. The automations are also a bit clunky and the UI could be more intuitive. I would suggest prioritizing regression testing and makings existing features better rather than adding features that have fewer use cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
QB enables us to to connect data structures easily so that we can compartmentalize information proactively for donor reporting.
