  • June 13, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy using quick base as a reservation request system.
What do you dislike about the product?
When asking for help with a certain issue the support that is given can take weeks for a response and when you get a response it may not be helpful. Even if the representive is close to the same time zone I am it can take days for a response.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping to keep track of reservations.

Awesome platform, but not for small businesses

  • June 06, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The possibilites are endless and the user interface is very easy. Reports are really nice as well. It seems to be a more "premium" solution in the low-code/no-code arena. Customer support is pretty decent too. I have been able to get my issues resolved rather quickly or sometimes I would figure it out before they respond.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no place for small businesses in their pricing. Businesses that are just starting out would benefit from using this platform in so many ways, but it is just too expensive. I don't even bother recommending Quickbase when clients ask for a low-code/no-code solution because there are many other options out there, while less fancy, they are also less expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have over 400 employees and we now have a custom-made application that gives us everything we need and nothing we don't with regards to submitting requests and centralizing data.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Quickbase was easy to use. They have numerous videos that can help you learn the application.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is very powerful and it can be difficult to see the impact changes can have.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had an old internally created application for tracking software licenses of our customers. Quickbase has allowed us to transition off of that application and onto Quickbase to track the licenses. It is is quicker than our previous application and some people are able to use Quickbase that were no longer able to use the old application

What do you like best about the product?
I like the simple DB structure and Pipelines. Also the formula fields make work easy and as you want to do.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some design constraints we have. Sometimes Product teams want us to implement the fancy design that we cannot achieve in simple table forms
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quickbase is solving a multitude of problems for businesses, primarily centered around streamlining processes, improving collaboration, and enhancing data management. Its flexible platform allows for the creation of custom applications without extensive coding knowledge, disparate data sources, and manual tasks. What do you like best about the product?
Makes it very easy to build custom apps and collaborate with all our users. It has many features and a pretty extensive application store where you can import templates and customize to your needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Email notifications can only be sent to licensed users. It would help to have that option even if limited to a certain number.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It lets us customize databases, forms, and emails mostly without the need to code. Tweaking the system is quick, easy, and cheap.

Its extensive scope allows multiple users with diverse professional backgrounds to engage on a single platform

  • April 18, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

QuickBase is very easy to learn. Its extensive scope allows multiple users with diverse professional backgrounds to engage on a single platform. Users can access QuickBase and customize their views according to their specific needs. In both scenarios, they can access a shared data source or database, enabling seamless integration with other applications or tools. This versatility makes QuickBase a valuable tool for various industries, including pharmaceuticals, where performance and data accuracy are critical factors.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of QuickBase is its dynamic form capabilities. These forms allow backend automation, making tasks like updating data based on specific conditions much easier. This automation, implemented using Python scripts, streamlines processes and increases efficiency. Users can focus on providing input by reducing manual intervention.

What needs improvement?

When learning QuickBase, I noticed a shift in its cost structure. It operated on a cost-efficient model tied to the number of users, with invoicing based on applicants. The recent changes have increased costs based on user activity, such as viewing reports or interacting with specific fields. This shift makes QuickBase more expensive to use as activity increases. Lowering these costs could potentially broaden QuickBase's user base, similar to how Microsoft PowerApps operates.

The visualization in QuickBase could be enhanced. Due to cost and usage efficiency concerns, our utilization of QuickBase is limited within our company. A few individuals are currently utilizing QuickBase. We need to consider the cost-to-usage ratio and prioritize increasing adoption.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using QuickBase for the past two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

QuickBase does have some bugs. For example, when multiple users are using it simultaneously, there can be issues with traffic and database loading. Sometimes, loading times can extend for many hours.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution’s scalability is good. QuickBase has 40 applications, and each application has 40 users. There are approx 1000s of people using the application.

How are customer service and support?

I have contacted support because, in some cases, we know the solution and can build it. There are instances where the requirements are unclear, and we cannot identify them. In such cases, we can submit a support ticket to the QuickBase team, as they have access and can assist us. Even though we have purchased only limited features in the pipelines and automation, when we reach out to the QuickBase team, they provide helpful insights and assistance through IDRs.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

QuickBase and PowerApps share similarities. QuickBase stands out for its ease of learning, as it consolidates various features and coding into a single tool. There are some backend operations required. To enhance its appeal to a wider audience, QuickBase should consider making its pricing more accessible to users, as this could incentivize more people to adopt the platform.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is simple. If you have the proper use case and insight, we can build and deploy it quickly.

To start using QuickBase, you must first sign in with your email ID. They offer a 30-day trial period, during which you can explore and build demo applications. These demos showcase basic features that help in learning. While learning, you may not initially encounter advanced features like automation and integration. These aspects become more apparent as you delve deeper into working with QuickBase.

What other advice do I have?

I started learning about QuickBase, its features, functionalities, and the automation that can be performed within the platform. QuickBase is a low-code platform. You don't need to write extensive code. Instead, you can use drag-and-drop functionalities to build applications. Additionally, QuickBase allows integration with third-party tools. While you may occasionally need to use HTML or other coding languages for more advanced customization or UI enhancements, it offers a no-code or low-code solution.

QuickBase offers basic customization options, primarily focused on creating home pages and basic reports for end users. While it provides some visualization capabilities like dashboards, it may not match the dynamic features of tools like Power BI. Clients interested in more advanced visualizations often integrate QuickBase with Power BI, utilizing the data from QuickBase for dynamic visualizations within Power BI. This integration allows users to leverage the strengths of both platforms, enhancing the overall user experience.

We have integrated with DocuSign, helping individuals who can't physically sign documents or need to obtain signatures, which can be automated. Once PDF attachments are uploaded and integrated with DocuSign, they are automatically sent to the relevant person for signing. Additionally, we have integrated with Power BI, SharePoint, and Teams. QuickBase offers numerous integration possibilities.

Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Easy-to-learn platform with valuable integration capabilities

  • April 09, 2024
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case for QuickBase is data management and report generation tailored to our client's specific formatting needs.

How has it helped my organization?

Our clients greatly appreciate the reporting feature, which allows them to view data. This capability enables them to analyze information according to their specific business requirements.

What is most valuable?

The product's most valuable feature is its ability to link tables like SQL in a cloud environment and seamlessly visualize data in table format. Additionally, it provides an efficient way to create and view reports.

What needs improvement?

Areas for improvement in QuickBase include incorporating certain formulas like VLOOKUP, commonly used in platforms like Excel. Additionally, they could enhance the ability to link records between tables directly without the need for additional automation to increase space and time.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using QuickBase for a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

In my work experience with QuickBase, I haven't encountered any signs of bugs or instability. It has proven to be stable and reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a scalable product. Currently, our project has three teams, each consisting of approximately 100 members, utilizing QuickBase.

How are customer service and support?

I have contacted the technical support team three to four times for assistance with certain features. Their response time and ability to find a resolution are quite good.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is generally straightforward, but the testing process behind feature updates may sometimes cause delays in their rollout. Incorporating every feature of Excel into QuickBase can be challenging and may take some time. However, once achieved, it can be utilized as a highly effective tool.

What other advice do I have?

The impact of QuickBase's integration capabilities with other tools has been positive. I've successfully integrated it with two to three business applications, and the experience has been quite good. The seamless integration with different applications effectively enhances the in-house features. It is a more modular version of Excel, particularly beneficial for projects requiring collaboration across multiple locations. However, Excel remains a suitable option for teams situated in one location. Considering factors like functionality and price, the product proves to be worth the investment.

It is easy for a beginner to learn to use QuickBase for the first time. The instructions, manuals, and videos provided within the tool are exceptional for learning how to use it. After viewing the videos, users can easily build applications with various features.

I rate it as an eight. There's still room for improvement in the UI. Nevertheless, it is a useful tool. Sometimes, I notice a lag in the software during business hours due to the high volume of data being circulated. It needs to perform optimally. The feature to export data in a required format also has limitations, especially regarding the number of records that can be exported.

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Amazon Web Services (AWS)
