Ansible for Financial Systems Automation

  • May 23, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Not sure I have a like best, I would have been happy with Tower. What I appreciate are not AAP, but ansible. I guess I am looking forward to understanding and possibly using Mesh. There is value in the Execution environments and Ansible Navigator for devs and maintaining a stable platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's getting too complicated lately. the modern techniques of collections and use of hub are adding overhead that it takes too much effort to migrate to especially for multiple teams that will not make it a priority.

Changes seem to come too fast, we need time to be able to get value out of the work we have already completed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The automation of our build process is pretty complete in Ansible and managed by AAP.
We are in the process of trying to apply our existing code base for our cloud instance buikld process.

What do you like best about the product?
Great at allowing organizations to scale collaboration efforts with a great framework
What do you dislike about the product?
No complaints/dislikes really. Why are we not still calling it tower?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Internally we use it to launch self guided learning platforms for our team to familiarize themselves with an OpenShift platform. For our customers, the usecases are fairly endless but primarily around taking a few silo'd ansible projects and putting a more enterprise grade experience around them

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of a baseline implementation, allows you to go from something really simple to a highly complex enterprise-ready solution in short bursts of iteration.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ecosystem is quite defined, and not easily escapable - once in RHEL and using Ansible there is no easy out of the ecosystem. Some implementations require paid versioning, and given the divergence of the community of Ansible specifically, there is no source of truth or single path for the progression of the product. though I hear that is being changed/worked on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The product allows us to automate consistently and scale-out solutions to global fi's in a way that would otherwise require a lot of licensed competitor products. The general 'open source' elements are of not-insignificant importance and general value to the advancement of technology as a whole

Using Ansible Automation Platform for centralized configuration and deployment

  • May 17, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ansible Automation Platform with agentless architecture provides an easy-to-use interface, and APIs, allowing users to automate complex IT tasks and workflows with minimal effort and coding expertise.
Support for a vast ecosystem of modules from infrastructure provisioning and configuration management to application deployment and orchestration.
What do you dislike about the product?
Ansible's focus is on task automation rather than real-time monitoring and does not offer advanced monitoring features for real-time visibility into automation processes.

While Ansible is well-suited for most automation tasks that one will have if we have complex or highly customized scenarios that may require additional scripting or custom development, which could increase complexity and require advanced expertise.

Performance Issues are seen during scale when we are running 1000s of jobs there are issues around execution time and resource utilization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems solved by the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform include automating the provisioning of infrastructure resources and reducing the time and effort required to set up and scale infrastructure components.
Automation with Ansible reduces manual effort and human error, leading to increased productivity and efficiency for our DevOps teams.
