Good product that needs refinement
What do you like best about the product?
Integration of news into our website; regular daily updates; easy creation of a newsletter

Overbroad searches that, despite HOURS of trying to tailor the service, we can't get it right

Easy to use and great to look at!
What do you like best about the product?
The clean design of the interface and the morning reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first it was a bit difficult to transition and find my way around but after one introduction it was very intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am responsible for monitoring news that my business is mentioned in as well as checking to see if our trade publications are printing our releases.

What do you like best about the product?
Personal, real life team helping you along the way. When we have questions Haley answers immediately, and gives us great feedback on how to better maximise our ROI on our next campaign. The Beats feature - helping us curate who to target and ensure its up to date is really helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how some editors leave a company but I am first to respond as I get bouncebacks etc. I then have to relay this information to the Meltwater team in which they then take them off the list - but I have to create a new search to find the new editor at said title. Its a bit more work on my end as my list gets smaller, yet I have to be the one to go out and figure out who replaced or wait till Meltwater does after I tell them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PR - helping us to ensure our pitches are going to the right people and getting maximum open rates and conversation around our pitch.
We realize that we are getting more inclusions, we can follow up on PR pitches on those who opened but didnt respond. Also tracking, we are noticing inclusions on items we didnt even know we are listed in (mainly online).

Time Saver and Fun Tool
What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate the most is how aggregated the information is. It is nice to be able to see a snapshot of both social media and traditional media for the topics of interest to my office. It allows me to gain a better understanding of the media climate around my work and to share it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I still use other tools and manual google search to find articles, and sometimes those articles do not show up in my searches on Meltwater. The great customer service team helped by manually adding a particular article to my search, but it would be nice if there wasn't that extra step in the process. Also, I think I should probably do additional training just to make sure I am using the tools to their highest ability.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My work has a lot of media exposure, and we are trying to keep abreast with relevant topics all through the state. Meltwater helps me to keep my finger on the pulse, and, through the newsletter tool, keep colleagues in the loop as well. I have received great feedback from colleagues that they appreciate the clear and timely newsletters.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would say it is important to be upfront with the Meltwater team as to what you need your tool to do. I was not at my current position when the tool was acquired, so I could not give my two cents, but I think being very open in dialogue with the Meltwater team is your best bet!

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is a fantastic tool to compile press contacts, distribute our content and track coverage. On top of a great product, we are so pleased with the level of support we receive from the account team. It feels like we have a whole other person working on our team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of a single thing that I don't like!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When my company's CEO charged the small marketing department with the task of raising global press coverage, we weren't sure where to begin. Getting started with Meltwater gave us unsurpassed insight into our media profile in away simple Google News searches never could.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I strongly recommend this tool. I can't stress enough how much they've changed the PR game for my small marketing department. The investment has proved to be completely worth it for us.
Working with Meltwater
What do you like best about the product?
Access to influencers, seeing their press articles appear on their page, interface is pretty easy to use/intuitive. Customer service is good!
What do you dislike about the product?
When adding a contact, there is no field for the title of the press outlet they are affiliated with. Also, the database isn't as up to date as it could be. Lastly, the news tracking service is just okay. Many outlets don't have stats like audience and there is no way to get media value/advertising equivalency with our service.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
More on top of our coverage PR and social; able to find more press contacts than before.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
No service is perfect; get the one that meets most of your needs the best.
Meltwater does a lot, but should do more to fulfill its promise
What do you like best about the product?
I love what Meltwater offers. The mix of both media monitoring and influencer outreach is great. The monitoring checks all of the basics for me, including ways to visualize the data. The data for inluencer outreach, open rate for example, is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how hard it is to use the influencer outreach. There needs to be more upgrades there. Unsure if too many critical reporters are unsubscribing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data visuals. More and more communications shops need to show their impact using data visualization. it'd be helpful to find ways to tie our impact back to the performance of our business.

The attention given by the whole team from purchase to implementation is impeccable. We always feel like the top client with Meltwater.

Nothing, Meltwater is a great service that has all the features that we need.

We have expanded our media reach through the Meltwater platform and reached record goals every year since signing.

Quick to scan media monitoring
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to set up and quick to scan. Media relations isn't a primary function or strategy at this time but still important to the company and I don't have a lot of time to set up functionality or spend analyzing media. Meltwater makes it easy for me to use and when I'm not sure I have great support from my Meltwater team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I have difficulty using the Influencer part in searching for specific trade media or small-town newspapers contacts and getting the results I expect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it primarily as a monitoring tool for issues management. Allows me to monitor immediately without having the expense of using my PR firm.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Excellent support from Meltwater. With a limited staff and media relations not my main priority, Meltwater makes it easy for me to monitor media and when I'm unsure how to use it, the support team provides immediate support.
