Love this virtual teaming experience!

  • October 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro has become an irreplaceable collaborative tool for me and my teams, especially as we are all working in a virtual setting. It has proven hugely useful for everything from daily standups, to client workshops and trainings, to internal team brainstorm sessions. I appreciate its usability, thoughtful features, and thought-provoking templates. In a time where we don't have the ability to whiteboard in a team room, this is definitely the next best (if not better) option.
What do you dislike about the product?
Miro is sometimes confusing for my clients upon first-time use and login. It could be a bit more user friendly on the web version (the desktop version works much better, but clients often don't download it for one-time use). The zoom feature gets to be tricky on the web version, is also a bit difficult to manage without a mouse on the desktop version. Clients also tend to have issues creating their very first sticky note or text box, so it may be helpful to make those features even more intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As mentioned earlier, Miro helps solve some of my solution design issues. Its in-app tools allow for creative brainstorming and whiteboarding. Some of the features (like the timer) help encourage timeboxed thinking and other ways to spur creativity despite video-chat fatigue.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're considering use of Miro for a host of reasons, from virtual teaming to workshop hosting, I'd recommend you try it and play in the system. It may seem intimidating at first for some users, but once folks get the hang of it, they will likely really enjoy it!

Miro is a very easy and flexible tool for team collaboration.

What do you like best about the product?
It was very easy to start using it even without the help tips. It is very flexible as it contains patterns but you can also apply free design as needed.
It has an infinite canvas that allows working in the same theme very extensively and it is easy to locate a part of it, zoom in and zoom out.
People get very easily engaged to its use. No problem when introducing new team members to it.
It has a free cost version that can be used with no time and user limits and is very helpful even though it has restricted functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Mindmap tool is not as easy to use and flexible as others I'm using.
The free version does not allow to access team members only to a single board, so if you allow someone in, they can navigate through the
three boards and make changes. Export to pdf tool is not good in the free version either. However free version is good enough to work with a estable team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It eases team collaboration when working remotely. It simplifies how ideas are shared in the way needed: graphical, schema, adding drawings and images...
I have used it to facilitate team colaboration sessions for software development analysis and design and as a board for Team retrospective meetings.
No matter how many team members are working on the same panel, all can work at the same time, easily and with no learning curve.

Very helpful online collaboration tool

  • October 27, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to collaborate online with "whiteboards", text entry, comments, chat, brainstorming, etc.
Very helpful vs. in-person to reduce travel expenses, include others around the world in different time zones, minimize language barrier challenges, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes confusing to know where you are on overall large board as well as how to use product.
Definitely suggest doing a training session prior to 1st use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
On-line collaboration (due to COVID, reduced travel expense, travel time availability, etc.) as well as include various time zones
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Works really well for on-line collaboration, whiteboarding, brainstorming/design sessions, and documentation of output.
Captures all notes and input on huge board and allows easy zooming to specific sections.
Quick on-boarding process.

Best remote collaboration tool to date

What do you like best about the product?
1) COVID has seen us work in circumstances where we need to ensure stakeholders are actively engaged in a virtual environment. This is easier said than done! however, with the help of real-time tracking and, of course, sticky-notes, Miro helps facilitate that engagement successfully.
I recently used Miro to host a virtual workshop with over 50 stakeholders, which was successful in having everyone participating throughout the whole workshop!

3) The market place feature available to the Miro community hosts a great source of valuable templates, which you can easily personalise for your intended purpose. For example, you needn't spend time creating a heap of content for a workshop when you can import a board from the marketplace- it saved time and effort! I just can't wait till there are more available!
What do you dislike about the product?
1) Sometimes I find it difficult to find other Miro boards within different departments within the business. I believe this may be due to the information architecture levels and navigational experience.

2) It would be great to be able to easily create vector icons or have a vector library, as this would help create higher fidelity wireframes, and also save time creating icons in alternative software solutions then importing them back into Miro for use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used Miro for activities and workshops consisting of;
• Feature prioritisation
• Journey mapping
• Competitive analysis's
• Information Architecture
• Stakeholder reviews
• Wireframing
• Agile sprint planning
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend Miro for both individual professional use as well as virtual workshopping and collaborative team exercises, given I have successfully used it for the following activities;
• Feature prioritisation
• Journey mapping
• Competitive analysis's
• Information Architecture
• Stakeholder reviews
• Wireframing
• Agile sprint planning

Essential Tool for Remote Collaboration

  • October 26, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to see where the cursor is for other users and to be able to bring people to a certain part of the board to draw attention to what is being discussed.
I like the ability to integrate with other platforms like Jira, the ability to convert our sticky notes from a planning session quickly into Jira cards is a huge time saving for the team.
Showing the cursors for each of the logged in users is a great help as it gives people the ability to point to what they are talking to.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not really a downfall of Miro but when everyone is in a room you can ensure you have everyone's full attention where as remotely people can get distracted by other things and miss conversations around what is being added to the Miro board. Maybe a way around this would be to have something that tracks if the window has focus and if the user is interacting with it, if they aren't it could highlight to the other users that you might have lost the persons attention.

We stopped using the desktop application as the web browser version of Miro worked a lot better, it might be worth having Miro be an Electron based application so that it's using the same code base as the browser application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Miro boards to do any meetings that would have traditionally had a whiteboard involved and/or sticky notes to build out a shared understanding, this tool gives us the ability to continue to work as we did in person but remotely with each of us having a voice and our ideas able to be shared with the team.
When COVID-19 happened and we all needed to work from home we had major planning sessions already planned, we would have all been in a big room with glass walls and many sticky notes would have been stuck to those walls as we planned out the next quarter of development effort and worked through the risks and challenges the project is facing. By switching to Miro we actually found these sessions had better outcomes as all the data was captured in the Miro boards and could be revisited when we all left the room, in the physical room someone would have taken photos of the walls and tried to translate that into our digital records but information was always lost in previous workshops done in this format.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Miro is a great tool for collaborating and I think marks the end of the traditional whiteboard, even if people are in the same room using a Miro board over a plain old whiteboard has massive benefits with the information captured and able to be revisited when the meeting is over. If changes are made summary of change emails are sent to participants.

We found Miro improved our collaboration at a time when we were all forced to be apart, it was perfectly timed for introduction into the organisation so that we could continue to be a highly performing team while at the same time isolated.
Miro is easy for all users to us regardless of their skills with a computer, we find the user interface to be intuitive and provides a lot of functionality without being overbearing on the user.

Essential collaboration tool for all teams

  • October 21, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It helps my team across multiple geographical locations to connect with each other and collaborate. Not just that, but we are able to bring many more people together to collaborate that we physically would have in the past. My team has always been split across multiple locations and to share you've really had to be in the same office. Miro now allows us to use one whiteboard and have 15-20 people all contributing at once. This is something you can't do when people come together in a room, only a couple people can be at a whiteboard at once.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to be able to export and share with external stakeholders more easily. We have a lot of complex drawings and diagrams in Miro and I don't like having to copy into PowerPoint. I would prefer to be able to export easily into other programs when things are ready for final presentations. In general though, I've found very little limitations to the product and will continue to use it for a long time to come. As long as our information stays secure as a company and we can use this as an enterprise tool its going to become an essential collaboration tool for our organisation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Covid threw a lot of curve balls at us but Miro was able to step in and help us to collaborate remotely and with more people than we would physically have had in the room many times. My entire team can now work on things together, play team building games, sort through information and run learning sessions all using the one tool. So far we've run our annual team day on Miro, do all of our project collaboration this way, do synthesis for customer testing and run our weekly team meeting ice breaker activities on here. We are even using Miro to solve team problems such as housing case studies and ways of working documentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Miro is fantastic for doing collaboration work on your projects with people across multiple locations, but don't just put your projects in Miro, use it for your team meetings, activity sessions and bonding activities. This not only lifted the adoption of the tool for our team, but helped people use and learn all of the different features in a fun environment.

Invaluable & versatile tool for remote working

  • October 21, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I can't think of any other that is as effective for working collaboratively and remotely with our teams. It's the most frequently used tool for running workshops, conducting & analysing user interviews, collaborating on projects and a lot of other things.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing major, just little things like being able to tweak the fonts on post it notes (bold a word) and the exporting feature could be improved. Some post it notes dont appear in the pdf.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working remotely in a collaborative way has been the biggest benefit. Another great benefit is that in the face to face environments you usually use a white board and lots of post it notes, you then have to spend time documenting the session. Miro enables you to run the session and there is no need to document because it's all there. No need to decipher cryptic hand writing, it saves a lot of time in that respect.

Happy User

  • October 19, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro usability is great; I can always seem to find a feature or function that makes my chart look or function better. I really like the group function that makes multiple items easier to move together. I also really like that multiple users can work within a project at one time.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's challenging to navigate to another area of the project when zoomed in. I will usually inadvertently move stickies or items without intending to do so and then have to fix those sections. In order to move to another location, I have to zoom out and then navigate to the area I want to view.

I also dislike how easily the arrows to connect shapes engages. Often, I'll be clicking to navigate around a project and almost always create an arrow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With all of our meetings occurring online today, our team uses Miro for team brainstorming sessions. Additionally, we use a board cross functionally to keep multiple teams aware of work in progress. This cross function team has to identify gaps and dependencies, so the visual nature of Miro encourages communication and helps us see issues before they may arise.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Share your tips and tricks with other users within your organization and have them do the same! Many of the easy tricks I've learned from others.

Fantastic collaboration tool

  • October 15, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is awesome when you want to get together with your team remotely, brainstorm, collaborate and get on the same page. It also offers ample choices of templates that you can explore and review your work approach in different ways. I recently created flowcharts and mind maps on Miro and it was super easy compared to other well known tools in the market for process diagrams. It also integrates with other tools like Jira and I can add or embed images and videos/files into Miro boards.
What do you dislike about the product?
Zooming in and out is a bit tricky at times. Sometime, it is difficult to maintain a consistent visual across all elements on a Miro board.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team and I use Miro every single day to create boards for meetings, workshops, design, user journeys, flow charts, brainstorming, prioritizing, project monitoring, etc. and it has been extremely helpful during remote working. It brings everyone together on the same board to actively participate and view each others actions in real time. It is very easy to use and there is no learning curve unlike other tools in the market.

Miro is amazing! - The tool agile facilitators & project managers needed to survive in remote times.

  • October 14, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to use Miro. The teams I work with need just some minutes to get familiarized on how it works.
In addition to that, Miro helps a lot to break down Epics / Features into smaller user stories as well as mapping dependencies and pointing out risks.
To put it simple: Miro is a tool for adults that needs collaboration working in complex scenarios.
What do you dislike about the product?
I believe Miro could benefit from a global lock, so we could lock all the sections at once. Users tend to get really excited and always move our frames / objects unless we have it locked frame per frame.

We could also benefit from a feature filter, where we could configure which features users could use. Sometimes we just need them to use sticky notes.

The price is really high for us Brazilians. I see lots of value in the tool, however, I wouldn't be able to pay it myself due to current dollar to Brazilian Real conversions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm running training sessions with Miro as well as planning sprints, roadmaps, breaking down features into smaller user stories. Honestly, you folks did just an amazing job.
