Live and Die by Miro!
What do you like best about the product?
Miro is the ultimate in flexibility - as a UX/UI designer I use it daily to generate ideas, map out feature designs and workflows, for collecting user research feedback + for conducting card sort studies, for PI planning, and for everything else in-between. With integrations to Asana, I can create my team's Product Increment (PI) kanban board AND track progress via a gantt chart in Asana. I'm waiting on my IT department to approve the integration with Jira and I'll be in seventh heaven.
It's great for collaboration - and great for presentations. After attending this years Miro conference, I learned so many tips and tricks for enhancing my usage! So many uses ... not enough time to explore all the templates available on Miroverse. We had an issue where a board was accidentally deleted, and Miro support was SUPER fantastic about helping us recover that data (we have an enterprise agreement).

What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a little laggy at times ... and the Mac app is not super great, but usable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
You name it, we're using Miro to help solve for it. Product design planning, ideation, PI planning, user testing + research .... all the things! I honestly don't know how I would live without Miro now!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Fantastic support, excellent ease of use, availability of templates from Miroverse to help you get started/be inspired, and their conference was FANtastic!
Miro is the linchpin of our Product/Design teams' communication and documentation
What do you like best about the product?
I love being able to integrate/embed all our platforms in one place, we can include references to online inspiration, Jira tickets, design files, colour palettes, stakeholder documents, you name it - all in the same space that we conduct brainstorming, planning and workshopping.
It's also excellent having a free-form space to get things out of my head and onto a page in whatever way makes sense at the time - be that jotting down bullet points, scribbling out ideas, off-the-cuff diagrams, super quick mind-mapping, sticky notes on mock-ups, or rapid wireframes. I also appreciate the relatively new ability to create a basic kanban board that can then be fleshed out into a full Jira epic/backlog plan without double handling - I can sit in a room with my team and quick-fire create tasks, adding whatever details matter in the moment (due date, assignee, etc), putting them in a kanban format or all over the board, and then convert the tasks into Jira tickets without ever leaving Miro.
Being able to do all of the above concurrently with others (whether in a specific meeting/workshop or not), is excellent, and in fact with offshore teams (that often don't have a shared first language) this is how I've run many rituals such as stand-ups and retros. We meet on the board (with or without the video call functionality turned on) rather than dialling into a VC, which means we can all throw down our thoughts at the same time, and feed back on each others' points asynchronously rather than waiting turns to speak, or needing to interrupt to ask questions.
Within the last few months the Miro team have also added (to the business plans) the ability to have anonymous/unlimited editors, without them needing to have licences/accounts - this has been a huge improvement, as it allows our team to collaborate more on Miro without needing to export for stakeholders or other teams, or have someone transcribe in their feedback to our Miro whiteboards etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
I'd love to get some more interactive integrations - being able to actually view and manipulate (for example) a Figma design file or similar would be stellar. Otherwise, to be honest most of my small gripes have been addressed in updates over the last 6-12 months (such as unlimited Editors, improved handwriting experience, etc.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are an international organisation, and keeping our teams in different countries connected has always been a challenge. Miro makes it a lot easier, as we can have a persistent communication space that can be accessed and updated independently in any timezone, or collaboratively in real time workshops.
We also find that documentation flows more easily, as people use a Miro whiteboard to initially brainstorm ideas, then also to refine them, workshop them with groups, and break them into tasks - so this process is all on the page for anyone who needs to informally review it throughout, then when it comes time to write up formal documentation everything is already gathered together in one place, making the task much less daunting.

Doesn't have great integrations with slack. I'd like to be able to quickly send frames to slack channels (Ex. Meeting recap frame)

If you use a whiteboard, need to create a plan for your team, or make meetings fun again, Miro is a must.
Amazing software!
What do you like best about the product?
It is an infinite whiteboard! You can do whatever you can imagine. I am a very visual learner and it helps me to see all of my ideas and concepts laid out on a digital whiteboard. It is like visualizing my entire brain. I use it as a brain dump when I have too much going on inside my mind. I also use it extensively for teamwork. It is especially good with real time projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit slow and performance drain. I wish it had better performance. Just now I was checking which applications used how much resources and the desktop Miro app for mac used almost an entire gig of ram. It can also be very sluggish when loading new boards for the first time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am trying to stay organized, to brainstorm, to think carefully.

Definitely give it a try. It makes you faster, smarter, more organized!
Irreplaceable asset for innovation consultants
What do you like best about the product?
Workshop pre and post data collection and synthesis are a breeze, especially for team members not on the project or not in the workshop. We used to lose a lot of our "paper data" on the way back from workshops.
The ability to create an essentially limitless whiteboarding space is irreplaceable for consultants. It makes us appear as cutting edge and tech-savvy while maintaining that scrappy-innovative look.

What do you dislike about the product?
There's a learning curve. Definitely-- especially with our ~older~ audience. It takes them longer to pick it up. However, Millenials and Gen-Zs pick it up like second-nature. This is not necessarily a bad thing (again-- it's scrappy-innovator-esque and not everyone can pull that off).
That said, there definitely needs to be onboarding and training provided-- if it were built into the MIRO paid plan that would be very helpful.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We run the gamut with our consulting group-- we focus, though, on people, process, and place oriented problems. Miro is usually used for collecting qualitative data for us-- though we know quantitative can work in Miro too.
It is a super easy tool to integrate with any design thinking exercise. I used it in Design Thinking School as well.

Miro has enabled us to run remote brainstorming sessions, which is helpful during these times.
What do you like best about the product?
I like its real-time collaboration features. For instance, in our agile team, we can host our ceremonies on Miro (i.e. story-pointing exercises, kanban boards, etc.) I've also found it helpful for card sorting and design thinking sessions to gain insights on taxonomies and site navigation.
What do you dislike about the product?
In all honesty, there's little I dislike. There's a slight learning curve to using Miro if you haven't used it or similar applications before, but Miro does a good job of walking you through the interface and different functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working with fully remote teams and getting stakeholder feedback and alignment when it comes to design direction can be challenging when only relying on video conferencing applications. With Miro, there's an interface where everyone actively participates, making it both practical and engaging.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'd recommend exploring Miro and all it has to offer. There's a ton of stuff that can be really useful if you're aware of them beforehand.
Amazing Tool
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of a simple board, the metaphor of a set of board and post it is amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
To tell the truth I think that is few to any feature that I really dislike, for my use it's a perfect tool, but I would like to export as PDF sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communication, this is my biggest issue. I can show the flow for all team, and make available for developers to understand the app behaviors. And I can see that we make the entire vision of the product accessible make our product meeting quite efficient.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want a tool of virtual board with a lot of features for multi purposes and with an efficient support, you will must to consider to use Miro. I'm quite happy with this tool.
My experience with Miro
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the ease of use of Miro and the ability to collaborate simultaneously with my colleagues. In this way we are able to carry out our tasks faster and in a more organized way.
What do you dislike about the product?
The thing I like least are the arrows, too small! (and sometimes they don't connect well) and maybe the chat notifications sometimes go unnoticed.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows me to work with my colleagues during this quarantine period and continue to design my products. With Miro I also solved the problem of organization with my colleagues and I improved the quality of my works.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start using it without fear, it is really comfortable and useful. I advise you to experiment a lot at the beginning using all the tools available on the left. It will make your life easier.

What do you like best about the product?
Miro provides a canvas for quickly visualizing challenges, brainstorm ideas, and work with teams to capture, illustrate, document, and jump forward on a project. As a designer, I love that miro does not get in the way, it provides a simple way to grab assets onto a board, add comments, stickies, draw on top of to quickly capture an idea and then share, download or invite a team to view, contribute or provide feedback. I can share a link with a team member and they are able to jump in via a browser, the app, or on a mobile device.
What do you dislike about the product?
When you first jump in, the double click or triple-click that is required to select or switch to an editing mode.

Virtual facilitation without boundaries
What do you like best about the product?
The diverse range of shape tools, icon libraries, video embed options, presentation and facilitation functions make this such a versatile platform. The tool is deep for a workshop facilitator while also being simple enough for the basic first-time uses. The ability to share boards and create co-creation spaces has been a game-changer during COVID and fast-followers like Microsoft have a long way to come to cover this gap.
What do you dislike about the product?
On occasion, performance has been sluggish but this has been improved lately. The lack of public/annonymous boards was an issue before but is now made available. I look forward to the ability to force password use on public boards going forward as a company admin for cyber risk protection. Archiving and board organisation capabilities are limited. Slightly complicated enterprise pricing plan with lacking usage analytics tools.

Workshop facilitation was a real challenge before. Miro makes it possible to make space and visualise any conversation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider how you will organise, distribute accountability for administration and archive your documentation as part of your roll-out plans. This has been something we have had to come back to retrospectively to ensure sustainability of our use of the platform.
