Miro is THE best tool for team collaboration

  • November 25, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is not only a temporary tool whilst we work virtually. It helps teams whiteboard and collaborate but most importantly unlike a whiteboard, it saves all discussions! I love how interactive it is and how its helped tenfold in promoting team collaboration.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are not many dislikes to Miro. One thing that could be improved is the video conferencing, but this tool isnt primarily for that, which is why its not a concern to a daily Miro user like myself. One other thing is their integration with Rally isnt as advanced as its integration to Jira for example. Which i understand as Rally isnt as popular, but would love to see improvements in that aspect to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team building, Work problem solving, discussing new projects and conducting agile ceremonies such as Retrospectives are ways i use miro. All other tools i have used have been too clunky and doesnt promote team collaboration like Miro does

A game changer with collaboration and paperless working

  • November 25, 2020

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is an endless canvas that never limits your workspace. This allows you to deal with large projects in one place with all the reference material close at hand.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much I dislike about Miro. The app has been a little slow at times, but that has improved lately.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working from home but still needing to collaborate is the biggest problem being solved. However, i also find Miro a great place to work on projects where all the documentation can be centralized in one place. Being focused on performance, there can be many sources of data. Before I would need to print out the different sources to allow me to work with all of them. With Miro I can put all the documentation on one board and then do the analysis and comparison.

Great collaboration tool for the team.

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is like a virtual whiteboard with big advantages over a physical whiteboard. The space seems endless, the post-its stick and never fall down, it's never cleaned-up and if participants want to come back to review or add more they can. It has a whole heap of other nifty little features built-in that a real whiteboard can't offer. A timer, voting, different tools, presentation mode, frames that turned into slides. I like that I can invite anyone to the workshop without participants having to sign-up or create an account. It has so many different application and use cases, it's just like the white space wants to be filled with your imagination. I've used it for workshops, retro's, reviews, co-design and synthesising. I like that I can easily import excel data rows, upload images or pdf's and also export the slides or the collected data into a spreadsheet. Using Miro has been a live saver in COVID lockdown.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much to dislike. As the admin and facilitator of workshops, I have to make sure I give new participants a little run-down of how to use Miro, this sometimes takes a little bit of extra time, so I have to make sure I am allowing for that when I book in time. We have encountered a few problems with Microsoft Edge, this browser seems to have a few little issues with Miro, I tell everyone to use Google Chrome instead and most of the people have it installed. Some participants have problems using the track pad, so I always recommend to use a mouse instead.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's not so much that I have solved problems, it's a great tool for collaborating online. Face-to-face interactions in a meeting room are still my preferred way to interact in workshops with people as I can provide snacks and water and get to see everyone and read their energy. One real problem for me though was not having the space to spread out my research. With Miro, I can see everything, I can move post-its around and keep them there. My manager doesn't have to tell me anymore that all the post-its on the wall look messy. It's out of sight but also within view when I need to direct someone to my work. The biggest benefit is that it stays in place, I can go back to my work, copy boards and repeat/modify my slides.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the intuitive nature of Miro as it is very easy to use for new users and you can choose how immersed you want to become in all the features. The Miro community has also been a fantastic asset and me to quickly learn advanced capabilities within the program in order to evaluate its suitability for our company. I was also able to see an item I added to the forum Wishlist embedded in the program which gives me confidence that Miro is responsive to it's users requirements. The updates that have rolled through in the months that I have been using Miro also highlight this connection to users and has been backed up by the several communications I have had with the company and their fantastic response time and thoughtful replies. We began using Miro as a collaboration tool and have now progressed to establishing team based workflow management boards and individual contributor boards as well. It has replaced completely my to do list as it allows me to categories and move work items between weeks, projects and status's easily. This has all been accomplished using the free version while building the business case for us to purchase licenses. The Miroverse also has some fantastic examples that I have used for various purposes or taken inspiration from, they are also very easy to use as you can copy entire boards. I am using Miro every day now for many different purposes and responsible for onboarding others within the business and find that my skills and ability are constantly being increased as there seems to be endless functionality and applications for such a divers program, it is as they say a blank slate, ready for us to create.
What do you dislike about the product?
Given the pricing I would have expected more advanced workflow management templates. Movement on the board and the zoom in feature has ruined me for other programs I often find myself trying to zoom in or drag across excel spreadsheets which much to my disappointment does not work. We struggled with the board structure when participants on my board were then wanting to have their own account and were not able to find much information about this on the help sites that was specific to the free version. However I can understand wanting to limit usage while on the free version however this was a slight barrier we had to overcome as we were looking to onboard as many people as possible to assist in adding evidence to the business case.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our main problem was collaboration between multiple business sites which was compounded by COVID 19 and having all our teams work from home. Miro enable us to keep in touch and collaborate on multiple projects across multiple teams all on the one platform. The ability to embed content from other programs also solved an problem we had been having with users needing to switch between multiple programs during meetings and workshops. We initially started using Miro to collaborate with other teams however we were also investigating work flow management software that we could roll out but found the cost prohibitive given that we also needed to purchase a collaboration tool as well, Miro was the perfect solution as it enabled us to have both under the one license.

Great collaboration tool during COVID !

What do you like best about the product?
Fantastic way to collaborate, have virtual workshops with large groups of people. I don't think there is a limit to the number of participants on the board which was great. The templates were wonderful and helpful, got us started really quickly. Easy to share where you're looking at just by clicking the user icons. You can add easily add photos / diagrams - which you could edit though. Teams could quickly organize their thoughts and group them into categories.
What do you dislike about the product?
When u have shapes, ie. boards to add sticky notes on - when you try to move objects around, it tends to drag the wrong area if u miss click. Also, similar challenges when trying to reorganize the sections on the board. We couldn't duplicate areas / ideas easily - we had to click multiple items, then try to copy and paste and it then drag it. Quite inconvenient when we were trying to group ideas from one category to the next. Would have been great if we could vote on ideas easily. Also another wonderful feature would be if we can export the ideas into a file by categories. I'd love if there was a way that helpful tips and tricks could be shared further as we are using the boards for various different type of activities. What could be really cool would be to also include a few ice breaker games or challenges on the board to get teams engaged on the board as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowed us to remote or virtually workshop efficiently especially during COVID. Team was able to collaborate, feel connected and included in the discussion and brainstorming sessions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely have started encouraging my colleagues to start using this tool more as it's a great way to collaborate during this remote situation.

What do you dislike about the product?

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Very intuitive tool for PI planning activity....we got the tool just few says before starting the PI planning and everyone was so skeptical about using it at first but for our surprise the moment we started using it, we were able to use it very effectively for the PI planning.....the best part if it has all elements of physical PI planning activities available online....very very useful tool.

A multi-purpose virtual whiteboard

  • November 22, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility of creation for many different purposes, like journey mapping, workshop, thought organisation, retrospective and etc. A lot of module are preset, making it easier for everyone to access and start create their own. I used it to run workshop with distributed team, it's really easy to duplicate items. ( It's especially convenient when duplicating outcome from the previous session in the workshop to carry forward to the next session, which used to be hand written, and time consuming to move post-it around or re-write ). it's also easy for everyone on the team to join and participate within a big organisation.
What do you dislike about the product?
When using " Post-it " feature, the text inside the post-it becomes smaller and smaller as I type, and there will be many different font sizes as the boards gets bigger and bigger. Sometimes it can be hard to read especially when I'm sharing the screen. For team who are less familiar with visual tools like this, it can be quite easy to get lost in the infinite white board and don't know how to zoom in or out in the beginning, or even tying on post-it takes a bit of time to learn.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Workshop with distributed and cross-functional team to ideate and reach alignment efficiently
- Communicating idea quickly, without building a formal slide.
- A lot of preset tools and template in Miro, making it really easy to start.
- Inspired by " Miro Universe " as well, seeing how other people use it in different context.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great tool for distributed team. Might worth considering some onboard training for new users who don't use visual tool on a daily basis, a quick introduction at the starting point of the workshop can make things go smoother.

What do you like best about the product?
Beside Miro is very easy to use and my students geht fast to the stuff they need to learn, Miro is not hindering them in technical sense. It is intuitive. In my classes I can invite as many students as I wish. Cool user usage model.
Since I use Miro I was contactet several times and they asked my what I would like to see in the next release.
And.. I find new helpfull stuff each release. For this I love the Product and the Team behind it!
What do you dislike about the product?
There i nothing I dislike so far. Just feels like a Honeymoon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have a canvas i can provide a training and learning enviroment for my students. they can leadn and share ideas togehter in a cooperative way. it is open to other data sources and i can connect to jira and other tools.
i can design trainings rooms for each client and i can protect the content.

An excellent solution for remote-based teams

  • November 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro has allowed our marketing team to continue to remain on track to meet program deadlines. Our creative projects and related deliverables have not been affected by the Covid19 transition to 100% remote. Even with our external affiliates, Miro's sharable boards have enabled us to gain feedback and approvals easily without the hassle of additional client meetings, presentations, or calls. We were previously with AWW board for the virtual whiteboard, it's very useful to be able to distinguish the cursors of each of our collaborators. This eliminates the possibility of overwriting other team members' work or duplicating efforts. Miro has allowed the time and effort to reduce significantly compared to earlier this year when we were adjusting to working apart and using other products. It is much easier to consolidate many apps into one and use Miro for our project collaboration, whiteboard, and the ability to bring in guest editors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our team doesn't have much in the way of complaints about Miro. Sometimes when our projects charts get on the larger side and require chart integration from other platforms, this presents a challenge and a couple of instances of lagging but nothing that we can't work through with a little effort. All in all, we love Miro! Some of our external guests have mentioned that they felt the onboarding experience could be slightly improved to include fewer clicks but have been complimentary of the ability to use Miro with minimal to no prior experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are creating new patron programs and processes through group collaboration internally and with our client partners to adjust to the quarantine period conditions. This has allowed for the possibility of new revenue-generating ideas to help with reductions in our budget allowances. The ability to see our team work together in real-time has been very useful as we converted our registration process to another software program. Through mapping our current UX in comparison to alternative possibilities we were able to navigate towards the most useful option and quickly transition to the new software program.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
To those considering a collaborative whiteboard for midsized teams, we have been enjoying this app tremendously. For reference, our team is roughly 12 plus firm two to four firm affiliates per project. The ability to work with each other in real-time without interruption has been key to keeping our projects running on time and on budget. It's easy to share boards with a variety of different flows and notes and get critical feedback in no time. The app is rather intuitive and does not require training for most users. Our firm project managers we up to speed almost immediately. We highly recommend Miro as your remote-based team solution for those needing to create a user experience transition or collaboration for clients.

Miro has changed the way we work in my product team

  • November 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the ease of use of Miro. We use Miro for online workshops during quarantine and forced work from home situations and onboarding of other people is always instant, It is also really good to see how quickly MIro gets meaningful updates that are very much reflective of what me and my colleagues feel like should have been adressed. The absolute game changer is the feature to invite non-members to a board which has proven crucial for big UX/CX workshops that we had to abruptly move to online. I feel very confident that we will keep using Miro way after the whole covid crisis ends - it has just became embeded in our workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are only few things, such us a bit confusing team management - it has happened to us, that one of my colleagues invited another member of our company and without any warning our subsrcibtion was upgraded to higher version. There is an option to change this behavior but it is off by default. We have also found ocasional problems with Safari browser, but they've been usually figured out very quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Miro to upgrade our workflow in my product/ux department all the time, a lot of my colleagues are visual thinkers so Miro was incredibly helpful to help us cooperate even if we are all stranded in our own homes. Miro is so useful also for quick outline of ideas or even quick wireframing. As our country went to lockdown and my company was forced to start limit the amount of customers in stores - we used Miro to coordinate development of an app to help us with such thing and we were able to deploy it within 4 days.
