Using Miro as an Educator and School by S.Kim
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy that Miro allows for real live-time collaboration and updates for team use. It has been very useful during meetings when people need to brainstorm in real-time and can follow along on one Miro board.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the left sidebar can get a bit tricky because there are so many options and buttons. I think it would be useful if Miro could simplify this left sidebar option. The Zoom In/Out function can also sometimes be fuzzy. Additionally, when uploading photos, sometimes they appear fuzzy and it requires refreshing/zooming in for the photo to load at its fullest/highest quality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been using Miro for a lot of visual collaboration especially now with COVID. Through the Educator function, I am able to make and create a Miro board that anyone is able to join/collaborate with, without the hassle of having people make accounts (aka the Anonymous Guest feature). I also use it for my club organization brainstorming sessions and it is nice because in person we would usually brainstorm using a whiteboard but cannot do that anymore, so Miro is an excellent alternative.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend people to consider investing in an Education plan if they are planning on using Miro for brainstorming and/or education. I think students have a lot of fun with the collaborative features of Miro and it makes for an alternative experience that was been altered by COVID. Students enjoy having something to visualize and it's difficult to completely replace that with something virtual, but Miro does a great job of that "whiteboard" lesson feeling that I think everyone could benefit from.
Miro lives up to the Online Visual Collaboration Platform for Teamwork and may more use cases
What do you like best about the product?
I love the existing templates and the descriptions that come with the templates which makes it easier to create effective boards for any audience, team or user. I also love the avatar follow feature, whenever is someone is interacting on the miro board if others click on the main person the screen moves along with main user interaction.
What do you dislike about the product?
The process of sharing isn't so intuitive and easy to do compared to creately, mural, canva and similar apps. I think if sharing is made easier for people outside a team to collaborate and leave comments will be a huge benefit. I also think the export process can be improved too so that user can get the best quality out of their boards shared to guests, maybe a description of the sharing formats and what they're best used for will be most impactful. I understand Miro works best within Miro but even an option where you can save a frame as a high-quality PowerPoint will be great. Nevertheless, these dislikes are minor however should be looked at
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving a lot of problems with Miro from tackling users needs and problems to creating an end to end service map and diagrams. The benefits of Miro realized are truely invaluable making myself and my team save more time and also be more creative
Miro, a relief in a time of miscommunication
What do you like best about the product?
I love the templates they are a great tool that allow me to analyze different assignments and task
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the delay that sometimes has when I have too much information in my whiteboard
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm communicating all the aspects of lecture with my professor, we can easily see the production of the students and in the end, feedback is faster
98% perfect diagramming tool.
What do you like best about the product?
Collaborating live on Miro has been the best replacement for IRL whiteboarding sessions I've found, and as a UX Designer/Product Owner, it's one of the easiest tools for ideation and process capture, even easier than Omnigraffle was. I can have non-designers participate and pick it up very easily, or use it for detailed wireframes and site maps.
What do you dislike about the product?
1.No element libraries is a HUGE gap and missed opportunity, and that's the only thing that prevent me from a 100% positive review.
2. I really hate truncating titles to fit narrow tabs. Just give it another row so I can see the full damn title!

Miro is my third brain hemisphere
What do you like best about the product?
Miro's flexibility and intuitive controls allow me quickly to layout and explore ideas, while also enabling me to get organized. It's like my left and right hemispheres are working together.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to say because Miro is pretty robust... maybe the fact of not being able to use certain features depending on what type of documentation I started. Like mindmap and stickies not being able to connect in one place.
Oh, and it seems that Miro is not passing muster with the security audits for some clients. So it can't be used for some projects, forcing us to use other design collab products.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Easier to use than I thought
What do you like best about the product?
The easy access to the board for the client I'm working with. You just press the "Share" button, copy the board link and voilà! It is really straight forward and clients who had never used Miro before were not confused at all. It matters a lot because if they find it confusing it will affect the whole session I'm facilitating. So this is crucial to me.
What do you dislike about the product?
The mindmap canvas could be improved a bit. The way it is now, it occupies a lot of space. Not that there is a lack of space, but I prefer when the branches are closer together.
It's a bit annoying when users inadvertently move frames because they simply hook the button of their mouse over the frame.

With the pandemia, I had to find a way to work with group of clients with which I usually meet in a conference room equiped with various white boards. I now have all the space I need AND I can easily save a copy of all the board I'm creating.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't let all the available features scare you. It is quite user friendly.
Excellent tool for working collaboratively
What do you like best about the product?
It has very flexible tools and allows you to see what others are working on and what the latest modifications were that each person made in your absence. Another useful feature is that you can insert your own images and work on them. The design tool templates and their respective examples are very useful and allow for modifications. They can also be enriched with icons or post-its.
The initial tutorial to understand how to use the tool is of adequate length and, in general, the platform is quite intuitive to use.

What do you dislike about the product?
I think it wasn't very intuitive how to select many elements. Later I discovered that it was by combining drag click with shift. The other thing that was difficult for me was understanding the proportions of the elements on the board, for example, I put a box and when I start writing I realize it's huge because the text looks very small.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
During the pandemic, it was a challenge to reinvent team work dynamics. This platform helped us to plan and then develop complete projects. From the research stage to the stage of solution prototype proposals. This is possible because they have many different tools to insert on the board, and the size of this board is infinite. This allows all documents, ideas, information, and proposals to be in one place and fully accessible to the team.
Overall it's pretty good!
What do you like best about the product?
The real time co-working part, and the quick prototype part
What do you dislike about the product?
The format sometimes is hard to adjust when people are working together.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Group working project and brain storming
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I like the sticker notes, but try not to click around too much cause you might accidentally change something your teammates created..
Highly recommended
What do you like best about the product?
the way we can interact with colleagues is fluent and help a lot when you need collaboration in a virtual way of work
Templates are also useful
Templates are also useful
What do you dislike about the product?
Not dislike but I would like to have more tools in terms of ordering / sort the object in the boards, like adjust at the same size the notes, other objects etc for a better look, another thing is to have the same quality of templates we can see in the selector screen, it changes a lot between what I expected to see in the board.
Miro uses a lot of resources (memory) of the laptop, some times it difficults the interaction

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
basically business issues. we had many workshop to find solutions to business topics or to create and validate new ideas to gain opportunities in the market
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Recommended tool for collaboration work
Great for holding virtual workshops
What do you like best about the product?
That teams can collaborate in a virtual space, almost like you would in person. I like that we don’t need to “pack away” a workshop when it is done and we can build on it outside of the workshop.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tech issues when you have some attendees not being able to see the Miro board it’s just black for them. So the alternative is for us to get these contributors to contribute through another channel (teams) and we share our screen so they can follow along. It would be great to play “thinking” music when we ask people to brainstorm than it being so quiet on the line, and it’s not quite the same when you play it out of another device.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to collaborate and generate ideas in a virtual working environment. We have practice days where our practice comes together to hone our skills as designers - we hold a few Miro board session to run these workshops - We’ve heard other teams cancel their practice days when they can’t meet in one place! We’ve proven that we don’t always need to be in the same space in one time to hone team skills
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it, explore what’s possible, it’ll change your approach to some of your workshops and team collaboration for the better.
