MIro is THE collaboration for technical teams in the new WFH and offshore era

What do you like best about the product?
Miro's workspace is infinite. It has every type of template for mapping, ideation, notes, diagramming, etc., AND, best of all, the arrow connectors work between every type of diagram - genius. As soon as we get approval to move to the corp plan, we're looking forward to integrating with Jira - I've always disliked Jira for its poor handling of diagrams and sketches. Now we will be able to move the requirements out to Mira and track the stories in Jira. The Mira 3 boards trial has made it possible for us to work with the tool extensively, including testing Teams integration, Kanban, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
It seems to be missing some generic icons for networking and apps such as servers, switches, and databases (yes, there are various packages for Cisco, AWS, Azure, etc., just no generics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before I was always creating maps and diagrams on my Mac during calls with my offshore team - the problem was I'm the only Mac user - so no one else could interact. There are no Windows tools that work as fast as Mac tools in this space (i have both machines for work). Now my entire team can create and collaborate visually as well as create reference documents that are more easily accessible than Sharepoint
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are a lot of collaboration tools available. If you and your team think & communicate visually, have both logical and abstract thoughts, or handing off to different timezones, as my teams do....this is it. For us, having Jira integration wasn't a must, but it was the icing on the cake. The template options are expansive AND very useful. We can go from a brainstorm concept to something valuable in a matter of mins compared to using a whiteboard option or powerpoint.

Best collaborative tool for a team size anywhere from 2-1000

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to collaborate in live and also able to view what participants are doing are helpful. Miro is found to be easier than Figma. Inititally, we used Figma for collaborating and commenting on the work. Miro has mindmap templates and easy to write sticky notes which is saving a lot of time. Change of sticky notes with the text size is my favourite feature in miro
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like to have the list of changes made by each participant. It is difficult to distinguish the individual work when there's large group of team. Version history would be very helpful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Miro for primary research purpose. Very helpful to collaborate among all the stakeholders
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I suggested several people to Miro and now they really loved it. I saw people transitioning from Figma to Miro

Collaboration in Miro rocks

  • March 26, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
It helps me to collaborate with my team and visualize all the data we keep in documents and spreadsheets making it easier to read and follow. During the pandemic, Miro is the best tool for us to have online events where we share our knowledge and teach other in the design department.
Also, I like the way it ease of visual editing of work staff
What do you dislike about the product?
I miss layers as Sketch and Figma have. because when I build a scheme or flow I need to color different parts of it and now it takes some extra clicks to move layers around and put content on the background.
Also, it is hard to organize demo mode because a lot of people do not get how it works and you as a moderator need to share your screen and nobody sees the content of because of poor connection or bad resolution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- I use it as a quick way to show what I want to change in different pages design
- we use it as a virtual desk for workshops when we breakout into groups and have a similar experience as we have had IRL
- I love templates even if I do not use them as they are because they teach me and inspire me about visualization. it would be nice to have a library of flows and schemes from people in other companies.

Perfect for COVID times

Being ble to copy & Paste images onto boards
What do you dislike about the product?
searching for the different shapes is hard if you don't know what you're looking for
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used MIRO as a brainstorming tool to understand which audience data strategy's we should be using at each stage of the consumer journey. I work at a media agency, but we partnered with our client who was also able to log in.

Perfect for lockdown brainstorming sessions

Collaborate on almost anything

What do you like best about the product?
The sheer number of possibilities of what Miro can be used for and the ability to collaborate efficiently in real-time on any of them. it’s one of those tools where you are unsure how you managed without it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the output cannot be controlled visually and you are reliant on the objects in their toolset. If you are a control freak then you may not like the fact you are reliant on the shapes, fonts and colours that are pre-built into the app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Miro for so many things it’s impossible to list them but here are some examples:
Design thinking workshop collaboration
Service blueprint visualisation
Documentation for wireframes and UI design
User flows, screen flows, process flows (so many flows)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You may need to reconsider how you work and allow yourself to give in to the collaborative tools here instead of relying on old individual ways of working. There are tools that do some of what is available in Miro but there are very few tools that do everyhing.

Organizational structure transformations

Fun App

  • March 02, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
There are endless ways Miro can be used for personal and professional projects. Since it's like a giant blank canvas, you can organize all your thoughts on one page and zoom in to specific pieces as needed, avoiding the annoyance of having to scroll through multiple pages to find something. It's also very easy/straight forward to use and is great for real-time collaboration with colleagues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Miro is constantly upgrading and improving it's tools and interface so there isn't much to dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The kanban tool has been great for keeping track of assignments and progress made towards the end goal. The sticky notes add an additional layer allowing for notes outside the kanban.

Best Collaborative Whiteboard

  • February 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Platform's flexibility, stability, and responsiveness
What do you dislike about the product?
No Marquee selection so selecting multiple objects have to be done with a Shift+Click method. Also, I'd really like a plugin with Zoom and the SAP Litmos LMS.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy pre-set whiteboards to provide what paper on walls gave from In-person classes for the required virtual classes
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make backup copies of your boards so you can easily re-use them. Lock down background objects on the board to prevent users from accidentally moving or changing them..

Great virtual whiteboard platform

What do you like best about the product?
My company uses Miro to visually manage work, and I'm not sure what we'd do without it. It has lean and agile workflow templates to design and brainstorming workshop templates and everything in between. If you want your members of your team to be aligned and track work visually and effectively, using Miro as a hub for all your team's work is a great solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some UX things that are tricky to navigate sometimes. There's a bit of a learning curve which is why it's not a 10, but overall this is a great product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems Miro helps solve: lack of alignment between team members, inability to effectively visualize work

Benefits: increased alignment, communication, and a true visual management system
