Fantastic collaboration platform

  • July 14, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the ease of use even for first-timers, it's very intuitive.
The web app nature also speeds up the process not forcing me to install anything on the computer and even if the pc is unavailable (happened once) I can just borrow one from a colleague or use a tablet.
What do you dislike about the product?
When I try to load images that are too big the app should resize them not refuse my file, not all users know how to resize content.
The activity tab is kind of hidden, making it not so easy to find at first glance or use.
The same goes for the chat, I know people that use Miro for a good amount of time and didn't even know it was an actual feature, and that's a pity because it can be super helpful to help to improve communication without blasting the board with comments or have to switch to Slack to talk to your team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it for customer journeys and experience mapping in general
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a very helpful platform for organic and team projects, it gives you the closest experience to a brainstorming room possible on a 2D screen. It mostly bridges the distance bridge between colleagues in a fun and approachable way. Best of all you don't have to pay anything to try it, so for some reason it doesen't meet you needs you can just delete your account. Zero hassle.

Best Platform for collaborative, Strategic & Creative Workshops on the market

  • July 14, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Features, ease of use for beginners, flexibility, pricing model
What do you dislike about the product?
nothing really, now that even the versioning is there
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- one unified platform for all types of activities where interaction is expected (Team meetings, strategy workshops, Creative workshops, Sales Pipeline workshops, business modeling workshops, Alignment IT/Business workshops, Co-creation with customers ...)
- Even exeuctives are playing along, and that's not a given
- Ability as a coach to be able to monitor activities from different teams with the "helicpter view", a lot easier as in presential workshops.
- Ability to go for Hybrid approaches, meaning online and presential, as I can export from MIRO and Print in A0 boards for some parts of the workshop
covering all types wof workshops (from team meetings
- Ability to integrate other tools so MIRO becomes the central repository for a series of workshops
- Ability to architect different interlinked boards for complex workshops, with many attendees.
- Ability to work in plenary and offline which is making it easier to find time for people to join the plenary session, as we give them flexibility for the Team home work

Great for whiteboarding & collaboration

  • July 13, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Miro is that it allows me to work collaboratively with my colleagues and partners to map concepts, ideas, and projects. We are able to visually map a discussion and have an output to guide continual discussions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Miro does have many templates, so at first, it can be a little difficult to decipher the best templates for your use cases. After time and testing different templates, you find what you like and what is useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is easy to have discussions and not track opinions, thoughts and ideas or do so through boring meeting notes. Miro allows tracking to be fun, exciting, visual and provides a space for all to engage in active collaboration around projects, goal setting, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider Miro for collaborative mapping work! It is free to sign up, so test it out today!

Best collaborative online workshop tool

  • July 13, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amidst the Pandemic, Miro has become our go-to tool to conduct online workshops with our clients, featuring 20-30 participants. I like that the design is it's quite simple and intuitive to use and has all the functionally for a workshop (and they keep on adding to it). We started using it for Journey Mapping workshops but have since used it for various other occasions. Interactions with the support staff were also of good quality. They were very fast to respond and address your questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are still some functionality improvements that can be made but I see that they are introducing new features almost daily. For example, yesterday I found myself trying to make the size of existing shapes to be identical but couldn't do it so I put a new shape and started from scratch. There was also some limitation to the number of votes people could get and a few other small things. I felt the support team was not that eager to learn about those but as I said they are making daily improvements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Conducting a remote collaborative workshop. It's perfect for our needs. There are of course many other uses for it i.e. Journey Mapping, mind mapping, process-visualizations and you name it...

Extremely versatile piece of kit

  • July 08, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's incredibly easy to collaborate on pages with your team, which is great for me because my startup is made up of my two co-founders and I; they both live in Birmingham while I live in London. It has also helped me to map out the key priorities for me as head of the business. It's great to have an infinite amount of space to work with to help get everything out of my head and down in front of me!
What do you dislike about the product?
There are probably a lot of great use cases for Miro which haven't been highlighted enough. If they were then I could stop using other tools and bring more of the companies operations into one place.

Another thing that I dislike is that some of the templates aren't flexible enough. For example, the mind map template is a little bit clunky when trying to organize all the different strands of the map. You can't make the subject of a strand very close to that of another strand and you end up with a mind map which is very spaced out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're a remote start-up (we all work in different locations), so Miro has made it possible for us to collaborate and plan out long-term strategies without needing to be in the same room. Having this kind of flexibility is so crucial in the modern environment, and I've not found a tool that has helped us to collaborate more than Miro.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you make the most of it and look through all the templates for inspiration on how to best use the tool!

Intuitive and versatile whiteboard solution

  • July 08, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the flexibility of Miro. It has proven very useful in running and documenting workshops, making todo-lists, visualizing and analyzing qualitative research data etc. I also like the fact that it's easy to import stuff from other software (like excel). If you need to use it with people who are not familiar with it, it's pretty easy to get started too, so no big introductions needed. FOrmatting is easy and the UI general has a very nice balance in terms of extensiveness and simplicity.
What do you dislike about the product?
For me, more extensive exporting functionalities would be very beneficial. However, so far I've been able to make workarounds to manage this. I would also like a bit more AI to the use logic, where the solution would analyze the patterns I'm making in terms of formatting, so that I would not need to conduct so much manual formatting. Further, when you have a very high amount of users on a single board (we use it to run over 150 student university courses for example), things can get messy pretty quickly. More options in terms of determining user rights would be useful here. Also, things can get difficult if you are a member in many teams in different organizations (under different licenses basically). Then you have to manually enter passwords etc., which gets pretty cumbersome fast.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro helps in dealing with the lack of f2f interaction that we're experiencing right now due to covid. It's been great for research activities but also teaching. We use it to work with companies, in our internal project work I'm pretty sure we'll keep using it when things get to normal. Digital whiteboarding is here to stay.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My general advice would be to just try it out if you have any tasks that relate to running virtual workshops or thinking visually.

Great tool for online workshops

  • July 07, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the intuitiveness while using it. I had older people who were able to use it after few minutes without any problems.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside is the number of users that can be active during the call. But I believe they will improve it as the product develops.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving the transition from face-to-face workshops towards online collaborative work. Miro is helping create workshops that are fun and engaging for the learniners.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out, and you will love it.

Innovative, Fun Collaboration

  • July 06, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
An extensive amount of features and templates ease collaboration with colleagues, especially working from home (or set up long term templates to use for internal meetings).
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some issues we have with accounts and account permissions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are establishing a more "official" Digital Experience team who can clearly communicate our importance to the rest of the organization and actively have them participate in our work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you dig into all their features and settings; there's a ton of use there!

Miro great for collaborations and design thinking

  • July 02, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really love how easy it is to use its great to get ideas out and aids in design thinking.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the text options are a bit clunky and don't work great. It should be easier to arrange and align elements. Also, moving around the board during a meeting makes most people motion sick. It would be great to be able to view the art boards like a pdf or slide and go from 1-1 instead of flying all over the board. I also dislike when you are apart of boards but cant delete them, especially when you are trying it out before purchasing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it to collaborate on our annual holiday card and other projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think its great for ux designers and teams.
