What do you like best about the product?
I use Miro for organizing ideas, brainstorming, and engaging in other collaborative creative work. I love how it assists me in easily organizing and reshaping rough thoughts, as well as creating a canvas to share these thoughts with others. The basic features of Miro, like notes, shapes, and comments, are incredibly valuable to me. These features have been around for ages, and I appreciate that nothing fancy is required. They allow me to jot things down or leave feedback without having to think too much about the form factor upfront. I can just let ideas start flowing. Additionally, I found the initial setup of Miro to be very easy, which is another aspect I appreciate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the collaboration features in Miro can be annoying. When I'm on a call, others tend to get distracted by clicking around while I'm talking. There needs to be more modality, such as the ability to freeze everything to force people to listen, then unfreeze and continue working.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Miro to easily organize and reshape ideas, providing a collaborative canvas for effortless brainstorming and feedback.

Additionally, the table layouts sometimes display similar issues, which can affect the smooth organization of information. Furthermore, the Gantt chart timeline lacks some features that could enhance its functionality and usefulness. Another concern is the cost factor for larger businesses, which might find Miro's pricing to be less competitive compared to alternatives like 'Lucid'.

I love using Miro for online collaboration with my team, especially as a design thinking facilitator and agile coach. The visual board feature is incredibly valuable because it allows everyone to place and see ideas easily, which is crucial for team collaboration. Miro improves our ability to share ideas and provide immediate feedback even when we're not in the office. I find the user experience and fluidity of Miro superior, having used Mural before, and Miro's intuitiveness and design stand out more to me. I particularly like how the elements on the board react and the design that incorporates clear iconography, making it easier for even those unfamiliar with online tools to pick up. Miro is a well-designed product, and its intuitive nature makes it straightforward to use without needing lengthy initial training sessions. The icons intuitively explain their function, and when using features like Post-its, it feels responsive and natural. Miro seamlessly integrates with MS Teams, enhancing our workflow by allowing us to edit and interact with the Miro board without leaving the meeting window, thus improving our efficiency. The initial setup was easy, possibly aided by experienced users sharing their knowledge, allowing us to get up to speed quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it challenging that some functionalities aren't available in the free tier of Miro. Although I work for a large company, there's no specific budget allocated for online collaboration tools for my development team, so we're limited to using the free tier. This has restricted our access to potentially beneficial features like background music, a timer, or the ability to bring everyone to the facilitator screen. Additionally, I also feel that the selection of templates has not increased over time. It seems like the availability of new templates in Miro has been stagnant, and locating new or updated ones is difficult. Expanding the number of available templates and improving their searchability would greatly enhance the user experience for teams like ours who rely on readily accessible resources.

I really appreciate how Miro offers guided or self-guided templates. These templates significantly accelerate my workflow, especially when I already have a structure or presentation in mind. It is particularly beneficial when dealing with user journeys, customer experiences, brainstorming sessions, or team sprint planning. By utilizing these templates, I can skip the research phase and immediately focus on understanding the customer product. The templates showcase best practices, allowing me to seamlessly transition to actionable insights without unnecessary delays. Additionally, I find the initial setup of Miro to be very easy, which adds to its user-friendliness.
What do you dislike about the product?
I sometimes find collaboration across shared workspaces can be challenging. The individual capabilities of users aren't always clear, especially in terms of what permissions users have. This can create confusion. I'd prefer user permissions to be more strictly guided or prompted, rather than just sharing a link. It would help if there was a better understanding of what users can and cannot do within shared workspaces.

I love how Miro makes it very low-friction to navigate the board and allows me to make things look nice with ease. Compared to other products like the Confluence Whiteboard, Miro is much less clunky and significantly more intuitive, enabling me to achieve what I want effortlessly. I appreciate how it allows me to map out potential operations processes, organizational structures, and document layouts effectively. Additionally, the initial setup of Miro was very easy for me, and I am so satisfied with it that I would highly recommend it to friends and colleagues, giving it a score of 10 out of 10.
What do you dislike about the product?
I found it difficult to navigate the admin panel and manage permissions and licenses. The user roles didn't align well with how people use Miro in practice. Additionally, there should be a way to allow interaction with a board, like adding stickies or moving items, without requiring a full license, since that's costly. Making the board public isn’t a reasonable solution for security reasons.

What do you dislike about the product?
I find the exporting to PDF feature to be problematic. It currently only focuses on frames and fails to detect elements outside of those frames, which limits the usefulness of the export function. It would be more beneficial if all items connected to elements within the frame were included in the export. Additionally, a vector graphic encapsulating the entire board without separating it into pages would significantly improve the export experience.
