A CRM System That Temporarily Worked For Our Business
What do you like best about the product?
SugarCRM has not necessarily been my favorite CRM system, but has definitely been helpful in having everything you need in one place for our clients. It allows you to customize your dashboard so you don't necessarily have to see the uncompleted tasks or meetings of your other coworkers.
What do you dislike about the product?
I personally think it is too cluttered. There are too many possible variations for how you could make SugarCRM work for your business, which in theory sounds great. But for implementing, I think it can make it kind of confusing for employees. Too many possibilities of where information could be held throughout the platform making it kind of tricky. I also think it's not quite as user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used SugarCRM to help integrate ourselves from no CRM system to customized CRM system for the company. It helped us to become more organized as a company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If there could be a way to simplify its use, making it so that there aren't so many possibilities of where information could be, that would make the use of SugarCRM much easier.

Could use better integrations
What do you like best about the product?
Everything is simplified. It's pretty intuitive, so there's no worry about "understanding" the product. The reporting features are also very in depth, and there have been very few times, if any, that I wasn't able to get the data set I needed out of it.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are many ways to do one thing, so it's a little difficult to onboard new users when you have to show them a multitude of ways to get the desired end result.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us tremendously with organizing and documentation all information we have on our clients, and using that information when upselling or handling customer support cases.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure SugarCRM integrates with all of your other systems. We have had a lot of trouble integrating with Marketo, and are looking to hire a third-party company to handle the integration for us.
Ok when server isn’t down
What do you like best about the product?
Pretty fast and easy management and easy to add
What do you dislike about the product?
When server fails tons of downtime and cannot use it
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Downtime cannot utilize it. Need to find backup when maintenance
Newbie in training
What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to learn how to use the database.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometime's the manual (how to) is not as clear or detailed as I would like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Streamline department data to users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Easier FAQ - More detailed assistance in manual.
Great CRM for small group
What do you like best about the product?
Sugar is easy to navigate and make the sales process a little easier to manage.
What do you dislike about the product?
UI is chunky and could you some updating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Small group and other CRM's are too much and too expensive. SugarCRM is a reasonable price and gives us what we need without being overbearing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend that you use SugarCRM if you are new and growing company.
Overly complicated to do the simplest tasks
What do you like best about the product?
There are a lot of great features that it's very all inclusive. It can do as much as you can dream. The sales "funnel" is particularly interesting and keeps future business in top of mind.
What do you dislike about the product?
I was very excited about the Sugar Platform but unfortunately it fell very flat for me. I NEEDED it to do three simple things - track sales calls, log sales, and give me reminders to follow up with clients. Unfortunately it just took too long to do any one of those things. Logging a call that might have taken me 2 minutes took just as long to put into a program. It was almost impossible to tell the system to schedule a follow up without scheduling an appointment, when I wanted it added to my to do list. I researched a lot of and watched several tutorials but it was just too complicated for it's purpose.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Seeing a future track of where your sales will end up in the next few months is invaluable. The sales funnel was by far the best feature, especially when it took into account renewing contracts and long term sales plans with my clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
SugarCRM would do the most good if a company was starting out using it. While they tried to make everything seamlessly import from old systems, it just didn't and ultimately we had several issues with accounts being assigned to the wrong people, businesses that had closed down, or bad debt businesses that we couldn't eliminate from our system correctly. But the features available for a starter business are phenomenal and it would be a great resource.
Great sales tool!
What do you like best about the product?
SugarCRM is an excellent tool for managing client opportunities, especially for a company with numerous business units
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI of SugarCRM could be improved to look more modern but the core functionality is the main priority.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration across multiple business units
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great product
Not a very great CRM
What do you like best about the product?
Nothing actually, confuses the sales process and sales cycle
What do you dislike about the product?
everything, no automation, wastes time and makes difficult to track accounts and customers
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have not much realized any benefits because it worked more as document management than as a CRM for me
Sugar is fine
What do you like best about the product?
I have found Sugar fairly simple to understand, not very complicated.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be very slow to load, which can be a big hindrance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can sort all of my interactions with clients easily.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend giving it a try.
Quality CRM for business leaders
What do you like best about the product?
I particularly appreciate the ease of use. Compared to Salesforce, its quite clear that SugarCRM has customers as a priority. I enjoy the frankness with which the customer support responds to questions. I also appreciate the effort that Sugar CRM places on the ease of menu access and minimizing clicks. It is apparent that customers are the number one focus for Sugar CRM which is particularly refreshing given the ample resevoir of competitors offering more or less similar products to customers.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the cost basis for which SugarCRM charges. Given that they are a smaller provider, it would be nice if Sugar CRM reduced their price to better compete with other more established brands.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used Sugar CRM in the past, however stopped using them due to the cost. I think the ease of access is truly a plus with regard to other CRMs such as salesforce. The main benefit is time savings relative to Salesforce. Keep up the good work folks!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I WOULD RECOMMEND. Be aware of the cost basis, however. I would encourage folks to try them out and see if they are good fit.
