Magnet AX250 Advanced Computer Forensics
What do you like best about the product?
Magnet has developed training that provides the learner with clear instruction on how to use Axiom to be very successful with their forensic examinations. The instructors are prepared, the software platforms utilized are effective, and the example course work utilizes Axiom as well as other industry tools for a complete understanding of how to best complete a forensic examination with meaningful results.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have found nothing that would discourage anyone from utilizing Magnet Forensics as the premier forensic utility. Additionally, their training and support are unsurpased.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Magnet Axiom workflow is top notch and make conducting forensic examinations with more fluidity and effectiveness.

Magnet Forensics
What do you like best about the product?
Internet Evidence Finder (IEF) was the first Magnet Forensics product that I used many years ago. Since then I have been following the company and recommending your products every time I have a conversation about DFIR. I truly believe that a product like AXIOM Cyber brings efficiency and consistency to the investigation process.
I am now in the process of creating a POC using MAGNET Automate. I believe that this product will help me to automate manual processes that shouldn't be part of a digital forensics analyst concern and allow them to focus on what adds more value to the business that is (Doing Analysis).

What do you dislike about the product?
First of all, there is nothing about Magnet that I dislike, but there are things that I would try to improve. A downside that I see related to AXIOM Cyber is the deployment on demand of the agent. Especially during a critical Incident Response investigation, the analyst is under a lot of stress and pressure. If we add to that the uncertainty if he will be able to deploy the agent to preserve data, that is too much. I should be able to deploy AXIOM Cyber agent as part of the gold image across the entire plant and use it when I need it.
Another thing that I would suggest implementing is an AXIOM Cyber API. MAGNET Automate is integrated with AXIOM Cyber, but what about a company that already has an orchestration tool implemented? I am not saying that Magnet should provide API access for free. Instead, you should offer it as an additional service and charge for that.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the past, I used to run specific tools depending on the artifact that I needed to process. Having a tool like AXIOM Cyber that allows you to add evidence to your case from different operating systems, and different sources (mobile, computers, cloud), and then select the artifacts that you are interested in before processing the evidence is amazing.
As powerful as EnCase yet a lot simpler workflow to obtain forensic data
What do you like best about the product?
One of the best things about Magnet is the ability to analyze, preserve, and present forensic data from any physical devices, network and cloud in a breeze due to their vast variety of parsers. The workflows and navigation are simple to understand without in-depth knowledge of the tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that Magnet lacks presentation of data when dealing with eDiscovery cases (emails), it would be nice if the tool was able to group emails by parent threads.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used this tool to quickly acquire evidence on any cyber security incidents as well as deep-dive forensic investigations. As mentioned the provided variety of artifact parses make any investigative workflow very time productive. We can see the bigger picture of what was happening with the machine/investigation within a few clicks, extract IOCs and provide proper security controls in a matter of minutes.

Get yourself a trial key and test this product out to see how it will meet your organization's needs

Axiom helps review volume data in a timely fashion.
The best Forensic Suite I've ever used!
What do you like best about the product?
Conduct forensic acquisitions from Desktops, Mobile devices, and Cloud sources in a single tool. Then analyze and integrate evidence sources into a single tool with terrific reporting and intuitive flagging based on the case type.
What do you dislike about the product?
The acquisition tools cannot be used in a virtualized machine/environment. I would prefer to stay inside a single VM for the entire investigation for obvious malware reasons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have moved from a primary investigator role into a forensic instructor role. Magnet has an Academic license that provides multiple keys to set up our lab and provides case studies and evidence sources from up-to-date machines.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Truly a great product. Grab a trial key and process some evidence. You will be sold on a single case.
Best Overall Forensics Suite
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it can handle most different types of evidence from cloud to local computers to phones. I also really like how it parses the artifacts into well-organized buckets for analysis.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times the loading of filters and of different views can take a while. I've also had instances of it taking forever to parse evidence and pull out evidence.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to have all types of evidence in one case is very beneficial to keeping it all together.
AXIOM User
What do you like best about the product?
Support for different forensics areas. Functionalities are available for users to navigate, filter and run advanced searches.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike at this time but, would like it more if AXIOM could collect directly from Signal applications like Whatsapp and other social media applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is solving many problems of forensics investigators or examiners by providing advanced functions in its software to decode and decrypt the data.

It's a great tool to have in your armer.

Like how in-depth the analyzer is and how many artifacts are reported compared to other forensic tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish there was a way to only display your tagged (bookmarked) items when viewing the artifacts.

Their help desk is very receptive to my questions whenever I have issues.
