What do you like best about the product?
IBM DB2 is convinient to use. It supports various data types, analytical functions which are useful in datawarehousing projects. The column-organized database has a very fast query retrieval that is rendered well in reports
What do you dislike about the product?
IBM DB2 lacks support for some of the hierarchical functions as compared to its competititors. Documentation can be improved on IBM site to enable better user experience. Managed service support can be improved
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using IBM DB2 for Datawarehousing projects. It is highly scalable. We are also leveraging the DB2 database to perform some complex calculations. Data retrieval is really fast and that reflects in the reporting

when the sever got off without proper shutdown of DB2 services, db2 gets failed to connect or corrupted.

What do you like best about the product?
Very helpful for the business to load and maintaince the production/test data in the tables. Data can be processed using SQL query in the program based the business requirements
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes we came acres a deadlock issue when accessing the DB2 tables. But we can ways to avoid it as well
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For our project, we had to maintenance amd process bulk of production data through DB2 tables. Very helpful to process and update the data instantly, there would be more options on how we can apply locks for the tables in order to avoid deadlock, concurrently etc.

Legacy database that has served and continues to serve the enterprise data for a long time to come.

The steep learning curves demotivate learners to learn the DB compared to lots of other RDBMS.

I have been managing reference data for a large banking customer. These are critical data and need to be available for businesses to function.
Why DB2, I have been using DB2 for quite some time and it is very easy to integrate and migrate.

The amount of help that is available over the internet and IBM site makes it easy to use and migrate.

We have been using DB2 for our database the benefit achieved was how easily we were able to migrate from oracle

The presentation and the content were very much relevant and helpful.

Nothing much but the commercials could have been a little easygoing.

I am trying to solve my data analysis problems. I was able to correlate employee and company performance data and play around with it.

The performance is very good and computes engine is good

The scalability of DB needs a more user-friendlyinterface. Huge queries with a large number of data impacts computation power.
The technical support specialist team takes ages to resolve any issue. We have to rely on make-shift solutions and the issues keep recurring. Ultimately, the product itself has challenges and we are not currently satisfied with the support

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IBM dashDB's ability to store and provide fast access to data both on-premise and in the cloud makes it best-of-breed when it comes to implementation flexibility. For example, IBM dashDB allows you to size your needs without the upfront CapEx cost of buying hardware and software to meet the future needs of an EDW or application. All the while you can have one data solution that pulls data together with data from Hyperion Planning (Oracle) and Microsoft Dynamics (MM) into the same system as part of an EDW project.
