Great for standardizing a network.

  • May 05, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create configuration changes based on configured custom properties (that are unique to that device or shared by several devices) is amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inability to use interface custom properties to create configuration changes is the biggest gap I can find.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Network configuration backups happen almost as soon as changes are made. Old, potentially harmful, configuration are removed each night if found.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take it for a test drive and use Thwack to see what other people have done, some of it is amazing.

SAM makes starting to Monitor Easy.

  • May 04, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
With SAM we are able to easily monitor basic functions in our environment, like status of servers, CPU, Drive Space, Uptime and basic Services. But it can do so much more. If you have a critical system in your environment, SAM can monitor if the services are running and start them if they are not. Can alert on the services.
What do you dislike about the product?
The alerting features and functions still need work, more access to powershell and the automating is always helpful. Actually working with Citrix and generating some specific Citrix alerts would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are managing more servers than we have staff for, because of the capabilities of SolarWinds, it has allowed us to streamline management and monitoring.

Take the pain out of network management

  • May 04, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
NCM's ability to streamline the configuration (and change management) of network infrastructure devices and appliances
What do you dislike about the product?
Easier NCM support for some more obscure brands would be helpful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of and standardizing the configuration of routers, switches, and other devices around the network. This has greatly improved the efficiency of our network management and helped us capture inconsistencies in our configurations

Great utility for monitoring our NetApp storage systems

  • April 28, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Visibility of our storage systems in one central location. We have three NetApp arrays, all of which we can see from the individual physical disk layer all the way through the agregrate, vservers, volumes and luns. Additionally, SolarWinds Storage Resource Monitor integrates with our entire SolarWinds infrastructure (Virtualization Manager, Server and Application Monitor) which provides us an overall picture of our environment and impact when there is an issue.
What do you dislike about the product?
There really isn't any dislikes for this solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ensure that our storage systems, volumes and arrays stay up and do not run out of space! Real-time alerting from the system is the biggest benefit. Anytime one of our volmes becomes low on space we immediately get notified 24-7 with enough time to resolve the issue before our systems go out of service due to space issues.

SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor

  • April 27, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
NPM offers the client-friendly gui and greater clarity of the network. This software provides a high degree of customisation to best suit the requirements of control and warning. However the software is very easy to mount. If you want to fine-tune the control there is a learning curve. Help was received in a quick and comfortable manner and the Swack group helped with implementation and management issues. The interface includes various tables and graphs showing how the network and the main interfaces operate.
What do you dislike about the product?
The solution has not caused me any problem
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They will be able to find out precisely where their problems lay in a short time. We're also at the point of recognizin some of the issues before they become problems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is really user friendly. Minimal servicing is expected. Starting with the greenery is therefore recommended. Make sure all is in order, and use it as a reference.

Great network monitor with in affordable price range

  • April 21, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
System Performance Monitor accompanies a great deal out of the crate that you can get your checking and cautioning condition up rapidly. The SolarWinds' Thwack people group has plenty of extra articles accessible for those oddball things in your framework. This shows the adaptability of this item permitting it to be an extraordinary fit into our frameworks. It is easy to use and setup. It gives you reports about system performance in a detailed form.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing which needs improvement in Solarwinds network performance monitor is there are a limited option of styles. Hardware requirements are also a little high to run this tool. Sometimes we get calls from the sales team to force us to purchase or try out the other products of SolarWinds. It is really annoying to listen to same sales pitch over and over.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solarwinds network performance monitor was actually the base or our system of moving from receptive IT to proactive. Checking things, for example, WAN usage to server assets allowed us to distinguish issues before they got basic and resolve them sooner. Now we can get report on system performance in a detailed manner.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Solarwinds NPM is a good tool and comes with powerful set of tools. You can easily manage and keep track of system performance with this tool alerting tools but you need to implement alerting tools in a balanced way otherwise you'll get a flood of alerts. The overall tool is best in such a price segment.

SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor

  • April 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like about it is that it is highly configurable, from souvenirs to reports and reviews. Alarm variables are a very powerful feature that can significantly lower the number of alarm settings And to get more value from the generated settings. We are also using our own attributes for different applications (grouping, reminders, MR tasks, etc) We are currently doing a lot of automation with API, so it turned out to be a very effective feature too.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not encountered any problem while using this service , it does what you would expect and continues to introduce new features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solution can store long-term Data and statics to detect problems on the web.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
SolarWinds NPM makes it easy to edit the health view of all servers, and network devices.

Monitor your website with extra tools!

  • April 14, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
You can see all network elements in action at any time. With this tool you can see which nodes in your network have bottlenecks, you can see every interface and you can see what is happening on each one. You can monitor the hardware of each vendor in your network, point by point, and you don't have your own software to see every piece of hardware in your network. Even if you don't enter the software, you can easily create reminders or reports to see how things are going.
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating a custom report can be difficult if you have to connect to a database to receive better information, or if you need to customize a report to suit your business needs. Setting up each component to get the best information is not easy; you can use SMTP to set up each component, but to get the best information, you need an agent who understands your device information better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can now monitor all my network equipment from a single point on each vendor's network equipment and sit back and look at what is on the screen. You don't have to go to the management console to see if there is a problem. You can identify important routes in your network path. You can configure the alerts based on the group of devices that you have created.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try to license all network components from the start and consolidate all monitoring in your data center with Solar Wind. This will really help you manage your environment better.

Superb resource for controlling the network!

  • April 02, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
You may see all actions of the components of the network in one level. Through this device we will see what the limitation is to the network node, see every gateway and what is going on. We can track all the product devices we have in our network from one level, we don't use the proprietary apps to see what's going on. We may set up alarms and quickly generate files, and we do not need to link to the app and see what notifications went on.
What do you dislike about the product?
Individual reports are very challenging to grasp as you need to link directly to the website in order to get more details or configure the report more based on the company need. It's not simple to set up each part to get better details, you may customize each item with smtp, but you will require an agent to help grasp the system information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently, we may track all of our network equipment in only one point for each vendor and be comfortable about the details we see on the board. We will know there is a problem without needing to attach to the admin tool. We may see the network path's essential core. Based on the community of devices we've already built we might configure warnings.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Seek to authorize all of the network components from the outset, and use solarwinds to simplify all of the data center monitoring. That'll stand you in good stead with handling the environments.

Decent tracker for site monitoring

  • April 02, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to setup alerts in an escalation matrix to track site downtime - saves the sudden panic calls when senior management finds errors and you look unprepared.
The mobile app is a good touch - elevates it from beyond a background service to an always-on, always-aware assist.
What do you dislike about the product?
The analytics for site performance tend to be proprietary - we normally use Google Analytics or GTmetrix, and somehow Pingdom's performance monitor never seems to agree with the results observed in these.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
2 standard problems -
1 - tracking uptime and triggering alerts to concerned teams in case of a downtime. Knowing that there is an automatic escalation on it's way helps streamline and prioritize responses as per SLA, and allows responding developers to achieve SLA requirements more easily. Reports are also a standard inclusion in regular website health tracking and early-warning indicator of issues.
2 - Site performance stats - a standard tracking of load times with historical data is similarly a good indicator and helpful in tracing when / where issues occurred.
