A single platform to integrate and seamlessly pass data between business applications

  • March 03, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Out of the box Workato has connectors to almost any enterprise software app you might be using across all of your departments. It generally does not involve heavy training to use and if you app connector doesn't exist you have the ability to build custom workflows to any proprietary endpoints your company may have.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really. It's fairly intuitive to use, and they have solid documentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've automated several critical business processes that typically took hours if not days to complete. We've also drastically reduced data discrepancies by eliminating manual entry in systems such as Salesforce.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Bring in stakeholders from key departments when you're using Workato to solve problems across their applications.

Integration Platform with a wide variety of options

  • March 01, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Extremely responsive support and a very help set of experts to guide the users.
- Lots of connectors already provided
- Flexibility to create custom connectors
- Makes integrations possible even when there are no APIs through on premise connectors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although Workato provides great number of connectors and good options for cases when there is no connector, more actions can be added to standard connectors. The user interface is really good but some improvements can be made to support more development-like features such as commenting out actions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used Workato to perform several integrations with NetSuite, Google Apps, email and other applications. The good thing about Workato is that it is user friendly and makes working with programming concepts much more visual and easy to understand. It is very convenient for users integrating applications that Workato already provides connectors for.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is good to check if the application you are trying to connect to have connectors in Workato. Even better to check if Workato supports the actions expected to be needed during integration are supported.

What do you like best about the product?
It enables us to automate almost all our in-house integrations—big fan of their customer support. Ease to use takes out the complexity of the tool and lets us focus on our data and integration needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Everything is good nothing to dislike...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a lot of integrations between cloud applications and our in house on prem apps. Workato has enabled us to integrate with these apps in real time and move away from the file based integrations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a perfect middleware for organizations with a hybrid landscape. It lets you seamlessly connect cloud and on-prem systems/applications.

What do you like best about the product?
- Easy to use. Business user with no/little technical knowledge can automate their workflows
- Availability of huge roster of applications to integrate. Almost all major apps can be integrated with Workato
- Allows extensibility at ease. Even if the app that you are looking for is not supported, you can extend workato using HTTP/Custom connector.
- Integration with On-prem applications and Databases is a huge plus
- Workbots opens up a great deal of opportunity to elevate our workflows to next level
- Last but not least, simple pricing model
What do you dislike about the product?
Frequent release of training videos on new features will be of great help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quote to cash automation between Salesforce, NetSuite and Sage Intacct. This has helped improve overall sales tracking, financial reporting and provide the visibility to account managers. Further, this enables us to do more real-time reconciliation and month-end reporting and projections resulting in huge time savings.

Can't think of anything date. Workato has been continuously delivering improvements on their GUI making the UX better in most of the cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Easy to use platform where you can basically automate anything in any way you want.

  • February 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
2-3 bullet points on what you like best. Think back to your evaluation process and what made Workato stand out. What was the “Ah-Ha!” moment that was the turning point to lead you to decide to purchase Workato. Did you evaluate other iPaas/automation tools or replace another tool that didn’t work as well (if yes, it would be great to mention the other tools you evaluated/replaced - but no pressure if you aren’t comfortable)? How does Workato help you and your team the most?
Comparing different iPaaS solutions we found that Workato offered the most easy to use interface. We were looking for a low code tool to substitute our existing implementations in Integration Services and with Workato we found that it was the most flexible in terms of things you can do while also maintaining that low code aspect to it.
Another thing that makes Workato stand out is the ability to basically connect to pretty much anything using their already made connectors and if something isn’t available you still have the web api connector that basically gives you limitless possibilities on what systems you can connect to.
Finally support. Having been using Workato for almost a year now we can attest to what good customer service Workato has. They offer an online chat that you can write to anytime you have a question/problem. They typically respond in less than 5 minutes and solve your problems most times. In certain situations where the support rep cannot help they quickly create a ticket for engeneers to look at. This more detailed support is also quick as questions to problems typically get solved in a day or two.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say that one area where Workato has room for improvement is flexibility in what some connectors let you do. Sometimes the pre-built connectors don’t have al the actions you need but this is something that with time as the platform gets more mature so do these connectors. Also even though some prebuilt connector may be lacking in functionality we have submitted requests for certain things to be added and Workato has developed these for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Right now we are using Workato to sync many of our audience data sources into a single database. Workato powers our data processing layer of a solution that creates a 360 degree view of our audiences. We are currently integrating different types of sources that go from SQL Server to web API sources. These are all synced into Snowflake which is what we are using as our data warehouse.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try to use each platforms strong suits and delegate work where it is best to do so. For example in our implementations we delegate some work to Snowflake in order to make our recipes run much faster.

Good platform for integration

  • February 27, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Integration is necessarily complicated. Many endpoints, endless logic, and opportunities to drive value.
I like how simple it is to set up and drive immediate value.
I like that customer service goes WAY beyond the simple bug issues and assists with real-world business problems.
The software itself is fun.
What do you dislike about the product?
Want better bug/server failure reporting tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Workato extensively. We've streamlined our API options to connect with customers, partners, and even other middleware services.
We've also used Workato to transform data in-flight.
Finally, we used Workato to extract from our primary database, make adjustments, and put the data back in.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out. Have a technical resource on staff - doesn't need to be a coder, must have strong business and critical thinking skills.

Build integrations and automations in a flash

  • February 26, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1. Integrations can be built quickly and efficiently. In the past few years across 2 companies, I've created over a hundred integrations to complete both complex and simple tasks to save team members time and ensure data validity and compliance. A recipe comes together very quickly once you know what you want to do.
2. As long as a user can dream up the business process to automate, it can be done in Workato. Standard connectors are simple to set up and use. If a standard connector isn't available, a custom HTTP connector can be easily configured or the Workato team will build a connector for you. I've also connected to data through database connectors, sftp, user integrated files, and user input from Slack bots, so there's many ways to connect data using the platform.
3. The Workato team is like an extension of our team. They are always available to help out - whether that be for extra training or support, or to talk through a business use case and how best to handle the scenario or integration to a particular system.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd love to have a while loop functionality - currently I have to solve for this by figuring out how many times to loop or setting a high enough number of iterations for a for loop and combine with an if statement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Employee onboarding and offboarding - automatically entering data from applicant tracking tool to HR and then through downstream tools like SSO, CRM, ERP and more. This provides a better employee onboarding experience to make sure an employee has the apps they need the day they start, while turning off access automatically on the last working day of an employee ensures the company's data and systems remain secure.
2. Data warehousing - taking all of our data from 40+ SaaS systems and pushing it to Snowflake for a single source of truth for all company dashboards and reporting.
3. API integrations like pushing details from customer's online cart purchase through to Salesforce for processing, or getting sale information from our online partners into our systems in a real-time basis.
4. Automated renewals management - including sending automated renewal email reminders and revalidating customer credit cards; enhancing standard CPQ contract renewal functionality.
5. Data migration - We recently had a large scale system migration and were able to use a series of Workato recipes to migrate the data from the old system to the new.
