What is our primary use case?
How has it helped my organization?
It is very easy to build automations with UiPath. It is completely visual. You can easily drag and drop and create a process. It is fairly easy. People who are not technical are also able to work very well. In education, we have to work with educators apart from techies. In EdTech, we have people who understand learning, so we are able to deploy them for this, and we are able to build a better solution. Techies will not be able to build it because they are not educators. We have educators with over 20 years of experience. If we train them to be techies, they will take 10 years, but if we ask techies to become educators, they might take 100 years. With UiPath, we are able to use the skills of our education specialists along with IT and other departments that are needed.
UiPath enables us to implement end-to-end automation. We can use AWS, Azure, or any other product. It is easy for us to integrate UiPath with our current offering. It is very easy to implement and go live.
We are working on using their AI functionality. We are trying to use the user data that we have to understand about a person and deliver a solution accordingly. For example, right now, in education, one size fits all, so there is one program that is directed at a hundred people. If you see Coursera, they have a completion ratio of around 3%. What we have observed is that when we use a solution like UiPath, for the test cases, the completion ratio is very good. It is close to 80%, which is very good. It is going in the right direction.
As far as our business is concerned, if a person does not complete the program, we do not get paid. There is a revenue leakage. By using UiPath, we are seeing a higher completion ratio. For example, if a person enrolls in a university and completes the program, he will pay up for four years. If he drops out in two months and finds that we are not useful, then obviously, we would lose the revenue for three years and ten months. It is helping us reduce wastage. It is helping us increase our revenues with minimal cost addition. The pricing of UiPath is negligible compared to the benefits. We can recover its monthly cost from the revenue that we get from just one student. We have close to 5,000 students. It is very good for us.
In terms of reduction in human error, when you are developing a program, initially, you will discover many errors that you have been missing out on, so human error will be reduced to minimal if your protocol is right. If you make a basic flaw in your design, then it is different, but otherwise, human error is more or less eliminated. There is close to 30% reduction in human error. Once we scale up, that percentage will go up and efficiency will go up.
We plan to automate all manual processes. Some of them are already automated using UiPath, some of them are in progress, and some of them will be automated in the future, but we will save a lot of human time. Human resources are very costly these days. It takes years and years of training for them to add to our business. UiPath has been good for a lot of things that we thought were not possible. We are able to do them after using UiPath. They are able to help us in finance. They are able to help us in HR. They are able to help us with contact centers. It is very good.
What is most valuable?
One thing that we love about UiPath is that the pricing is very good. While we are developing, they have a free option. The Pro option is for just $420. Once we go live, we do not mind paying, so the price point is very good.
The platform is robust. Particularly in process mining and task mining areas, it is very good. We are working on integrating it with our solution, and the API is fairly easy for us to work with.
UiPath is very good. They have OpenAI integration. It is a free integration. They have something for extracting data. They have something for copying text from an image. These are all free and ready to be used in automation.
They have a UiPath community. They have a lot of activities to engage people, and the community is growing. It is not as wide as some of the older products such as PHP or Java, but for AI, it is a very good community. They have DevCons that are very popular as well. Their community is all over the world. They have developers in India. They have developers in the Philippines. It is very good.
What needs improvement?
We would like to see small modules that we can pick and use. Currently, we have to implement a lot of things. The platform is very good, but we would love to have some more templates that we can quickly implement. Other than that, it is very good. We do not require anything else. We are very happy with UiPath. It has been an eye-opener for us. We have discovered things that we thought were not possible earlier.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is completely stable. I have not had a single downtime in our development journey and usage. It is a very stable solution. I would rate it a ten out of ten in terms of stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It is easily scalable because of the way it is implemented. You start with a small license, and as your needs grow, you can keep taking more resources. UiPath also makes money as you grow. They scale it up for us, so we do not have to worry much about the product as such. It is quite scalable.
We have UiPath in multiple departments. We are an EdTech company, and we are using UiPath in the product department and the finance department. We are integrating some elements of HR. Customer support is the most vital component for us because you save a lot of manhours in customer support. Our tech teams are based out of India and the Philippines.
At the implementation stage, we have only 14 developers, but once implemented, it will be used for at least 5,000 customers.
How are customer service and support?
They have been very prompt and helpful. They pay attention to detail. They are available. Their support is a class apart. There are no issues. I would rate them a ten out of ten.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We tried several products but did not implement any RPA. We tried Automation Anywhere and Microsoft Power Automate. We found UiPath to be the best in terms of features, community, and support. Some of the things that we tried did not work well for us.
UiPath is a class apart. Automation Anywhere is a standard solution. Overall, Automation Anywhere is very easy. It does not have a community. It does not have all the features. You are mostly platform-dependent when you are using Automation Anywhere, whereas UiPath has a community. You do not need UiPath to help you with everything. There is a lot of talent available. UiPath Academy is good. A lot of people get trained in UiPath. Pricing-wise also, UiPath is cheaper. It is also easy to implement. Automation Anywhere helps to get started very quickly, but we needed customization for our business. This is something where UiPath was better.
How was the initial setup?
It is deployed on the cloud. Everything is on the cloud. UiPath has helped to minimize our on-prem footprint. Ever since COVID, everyone has been moving to a phase where they can be completely remote. We have been transitioning from on-premises for the last few years, and this is a step in the right direction. Of course, we need to do more, but it is going in the right direction.
The number of people required depends on what you are using it for. We are using it for our own custom solution. We have 14 resources working on UiPath for our solution, but a small enterprise does not need that many people. A smaller team is good enough to implement because it has everything. For example, if you want to integrate Salesforce, you can easily integrate Salesforce. You can go and click on the marketplace and just use Salesforce.
It does not require any maintenance from our side. Everything is automatically maintained. The platform is continuously upgraded in the backend. We do not need much maintenance. It is a cloud solution, and everything is maintained at the backend. You do not need any intervention.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
It is super cheap for the value you get. Their free version is good enough to implement. When you are building a solution, it takes months of effort, and sometimes, it takes years. Its free version is good enough for you to test out everything, so when you are developing, you do not need to pay. After that, there is a Pro version at $420. It is reasonable for the value it is offering. Their basic support is also very good, which comes with the Pro version.
The Enterprise license is suitable when you need a hundred automation licenses. It is also reasonable. They give good pricing when you negotiate.
What other advice do I have?
I would highly recommend UiPath. You can definitely go for it. I would suggest being a little bit patient while implementing this solution initially because it can be overwhelming. There are so many options.
UiPath as a company is also good. They respond quickly. It has been a pleasure so far. Our product is not yet live. We are still working on it. It is a very big solution for us, and it will be a game changer for our business.
Overall, I would rate UiPath a ten out of ten.
A scalable and user-friendly tool that enables users to build automation easily
What is our primary use case?
The use cases depend on the processes. The processes we have so far have been complex. It took almost six months to complete each process. We required four developers per process. We have been working for the same client since 2021. Before this, we worked for other clients and automated almost five to ten processes, but they were not critical processes like what we currently do.
How has it helped my organization?
UiPath is user-friendly. Our customers get to see what is happening on the screen even if we deploy it on another machine. They can easily see what is happening in the background using log messages in the Orchestrator. People always have concerns about how well the credentials are stored. UiPath uses Thycotic Secret Server to ensure the credentials are not shared with anyone else except the client.
What is most valuable?
We are working on processes that involve Excel automation. We can use our coding knowledge for these processes. If we have someone who knows coding, instead of writing lengthy codes, we can finish it within a second. Even if it is a big Excel, we can achieve our needs within fractions of seconds. Activities like InvokeMethod are really helpful while doing Excel automation. New releases come up very frequently. The vendor is working very hard to make it a very efficient tool.

Support should be improved.

How are customer service and support?
We found some issues with Salesforce Activities. We have raised a ticket with the support team. It has been almost a month, and we don’t have a solution yet. It's already in UAT, and we might deploy the bot by the end of the month. However, we haven't received any response from the support team. Whenever we call support, the support person says that they will get back to us. We didn't get a solution for the issue we raised.
I have contacted the support team for previous projects. The team did not take much time to resolve the problem. But this time we had difficulties resolving the issue. I'm only satisfied 80 to 90% with support.

UiPath's cost is a bit high compared to other RPA tools. However, a few clients prefer to use UiPath. It will be helpful if UiPath reduces its cost a little bit.
What other advice do I have?
We are using UiPath for our current project. It's already in the UAT phase. We plan to put it in the production environment by the end of this month. I started my career with UiPath. I am still working on it.
It is easy to build automation using the product. I have also used Automation Anywhere and found some difficulties when using it. Some features available in UiPath are missing in Automation Anywhere. It is very easy to drag and drop activities in UiPath, and we can add multiple conditions within one activity. I couldn't find these features in Automation Anywhere. It is one of the biggest advantages of using UiPath. More than 100 activities are available in UiPath to do Excel automation. Other RPA tools do not have such features.
The product enables us to implement end-to-end automation. The same can be achieved through other RPA tools as well. A few of our clients prefer UiPath because of the features and support we get from the tool. Some things cannot be achieved through other automation tools. If someone wants to automate or scan a PDF, we cannot achieve it through other automation tools. UiPath has a lot of options for the users. We can also integrate third-party tools into the solution.
If a company uses five employees for a process, it would need only one employee after it is automated using UiPath. The other four employees can be allocated to other tasks. It will depend upon the complexity of the process. A company might require one or two employees after the automation if it is a complex process. They would have a support team to help them, but sometimes, clients want someone from their side to check things.
We couldn't save costs in a few processes because of the complexity of the processes. Almost 80 to 90% of our clients benefit from UiPath. If a company invests in UiPath, though the cost is a little bit high, it is a one-time investment. Later, they can see profits from this investment. It is not seen immediately, but the tool is definitely helpful for clients.
The tool reduces human error. If some people do a job daily, we can do that job using UiPath. If a human takes an hour to complete a job, UiPath could do the same job in one or two minutes. It cannot do it 100%. Some cases might require human intervention. If there are no multiple scenarios or edge cases, then it's very easy for the developer to train the bot. If we get the proper requirement, we can definitely achieve it through UiPath with zero error. The current project that we are working on is in the UAT phase. We come up with new scenarios every day. I cannot say that any process can be done with 100% perfection.
We have freshers in our team who do certifications in UiPath Academy. People who complete courses on UiPath Academy will get some basic knowledge of web automation and Excel automation. They will feel confident achieving something using UiPath. If we put someone directly into the project without the basic knowledge, they may find some difficulty. UiPath Academy courses help us get some basic hands-on knowledge of UiPath.
UiPath’s user community is one of the key assets for any UiPath developer. We get information on new updates, versions, and activities from the community forum. During development, we might get stuck while implementing things like Excel automation, web automation, selector issues, logic issues, and coding issues. If we get stuck while doing something, we can post it in the forum and get a solution. The community is very helpful for all the developers. I work for almost four to five clients and three to four companies. Most of the developers are part of the community.
Most things can be achieved with the product. I would advise people to use the platform. We get responses to our queries very quickly on the forum. Whoever is available will respond to our queries. We also have an internal WhatsApp group where we can post our queries.
Overall, I rate the solution a nine and a half out of ten.
Simple to use with a straightforward setup and a helpful user community
What is our primary use case?
I'm using one or two robots. We use the solution for reports. We have another software yet we don't have support. Instead of pulling reports manually, we use the program to get the reports and pull them for us.
What is most valuable?
The solution is very simple. We can easily create robots. It's easy to build automation.
UiPath enables us to implement end-to-end automation. We have some manual procedures and it helps to complete those tasks.
We use the UiPath user community. It's free.
The amount of work we have is very small. We don't have big workflows. However, employees can now spend time on other things, and it's helped us manage our time around reporting.

We've used Academy courses. I've done classes myself. I don't use it every day. I've only used it once, actually.
The solution speeds up digital transformation and reduces the cost of digital transformation. with UiPath, we do not require expensive or complex application upgrades or IT application support.

I've dealt with compatibility issues with Microsoft components. When we upgrade the UiPath framework, we might be able to fix the issue.

The setup was straightforward with the help of UiPath documentation. The implementation process took less than one day and we implemented with one or two people doing the work.
UiPath does require a bit of maintenance, however, it is not that much. We're mostly just dealing with compatibility issues with Microsoft.

What was our ROI?
As for the cost, I'm not sure if it has saved us money. The customer still keeps the same number of employees, for example. That said, the important thing is to reduce the time it would take for them to handle tasks. In some ways, it's done that.

Our use case is still very small. Therefore, we don't want to buy a solution that is too big for us. We don't want to pay more than $10,000 USD for a license. Therefore, we're focused more on the community version.

We did evaluate other options. We found UiPath to be more localized. They were one of the top solutions.

We are UiPath partners.
We do not use the solution's AI functionality just yet. We're only using small automation. We also have yet to try the document understanding features. We still need to try some advanced features and I look forward to experimenting with it.

We use UiPath for robot authentication. We primarily use the software for accounting, particularly in our financial department, where we place some details from the client site, put them on a particular website, download the details, and then send those to a specific client.
I work for a big organization with many team members who access UiPath. On the client side, mostly enterprise clients, UiPath also has many users.
How has it helped my organization?
We've seen many benefits from UiPath, particularly from the client side.
The first benefit is manpower reduction, or reducing the number of people required to do the work.
Another benefit of UiPath is the reduction of errors. Sometimes, you'll notice errors from human intervention, but when the work is done via UiPath, you won't see any errors, so the solution has improved the success rate.
What is most valuable?
What I like most about UiPath is that it significantly reduced the amount of human intervention, which means that what usually takes people to do in ten to fifteen minutes would only take the robot one to two minutes.
I also like that UiPath runs 24/7.
I find the ease of building automation in UiPath valuable. It's easier to do that in UiPath versus other platforms, such as Blue Prism and Automation Anywhere. My organization has a lot of activities and needs to give specific details and accesses, and I found that UiPath works in the final product.
UiPath enables my organization to implement end-to-end automation. Sometimes, it's required for the user interface, but implementing end-to-end automation still depends on the product and agenda.
The solution helped minimize the on-premises footprint of my organization, mainly because it allows you to do a significant amount of work remotely, so UiPath is the best way to minimize your on-premises footprint.
My team has utilized UiPath Academy, precisely the basic course, then the development course, and then the advanced certification. You have to start with the basic course that shows you how the platform works, then move on to the development course, and then the advanced course or certification.
What I like best about UiPath Academy courses is that you see several maintenance scenarios you don't get to observe daily. You'll see perfect examples of different scenarios in the videos plus the instructor has a good teaching style, so my team was able to understand the lessons easily.
I also found that UiPath has helped in significantly reducing the cost of digital transformation.
In terms of reducing human error, UiPath has helped decrease it by twelve to fifteen percent. Sometimes, humans working for five to ten hours become tired, while the robot can work twenty-four by seven without getting tired, complete the work on time, and ensure that all details it encodes are correct.
Because of UiPath, my organization doesn't need so many people, but you still need to manage the robot, monitor it, and ensure that reporting works fine. It's not like my team has to do another project after utilizing UiPath. Still, the solution requires managing routers, which now requires one person with UiPath versus ten people without UiPath, so that's one example of what the solution has helped reduce. UiPath helped free up about thirty percent of employee time.
I like the most recent update that was completed for UiPath because it helped solve the clustering case, and then the modern authentication is good.
What needs improvement?
What needs some improvement in UiPath is its Document Understanding functionality. It should be simplified because, right now, it's a little complicated to use, as you have to give it data or details, so in the future, I hope that could be improved.

Deploying UiPath wasn't as complex. My organization has a lot of members who can access everything. There wasn't any issue with deploying the solution.

Sometimes, the solution requires maintenance, specifically on the server side, as that runs 24/7, so you need to integrate and do some checks to maintain UiPath.

What is our primary use case?
We use UiPath for SAP automation, detecting document sections, web automation, and external applications.
We use both UiPath RPA and UiPath Document Understanding.
UiPath Document Understanding is for data extraction, while we use UiPath RPA for basic purposes and use .NET.
We also used UiPath once to automate processes dealing with good causes, particularly in Ecolab. The company dealt with floor cleaners and hand sanitizers for hospitals in the US, and at that time, the demand for sanitizers and floor cleaners was through the roof. It was so high that we had to automate processes using UiPath to fulfill the number of orders coming in, for instance, thirty thousand orders a day.
We use UiPath in multiple departments, such as HR, Procurement, and Manufacturing.
How has it helped my organization?
We were able to scale our automation and operations through UiPath, for example, up to thirty thousand orders a day, and the direct impact was that all hospitals could order whatever they needed from our company and get what they wanted.
UiPath also helped us send information, particularly the list of requirements to vendors, for example, the number of materials needed, the size of each material, etc., so we found UiPath useful.
What is most valuable?
One of the features of UiPath that we found good is Document Understanding. We also like using the prebuilt AI models in UiPath rather than creating our own AI models.
We also liked how UiPath enabled us to implement end-to-end automation.
The UiPath Community is very good. When UiPath started, there was no community and documentation, but then UiPath built its community and started giving all courses and training for free along with IT requirements. We found that very helpful, especially then, because other solutions, such as Blue Prism and Automation Anywhere, were not providing free tutorials. Only UiPath provided free tutorials; it was the first company to do that. It even gave practical use cases along with the required data and even built its own application and website, which was why we could automate, including learning about automation.
We found the UiPath Community very helpful because we get answers when we input some queries. We feel that it's always good to look in the UiPath Community to keep learning from the questions other users ask and even reply to questions by other users. If we want to dig deep and further understand how things work, we go to the UiPath Community, which we find good.
The UiPath Academy courses beneficial. I've even completed the advanced course there.
We started using the AI functionality in UiPath for our automation programs. As the solution comes with three built-in AI models, we like that we can directly use those current AI models rather than building custom models. We can plug and play the built-in AI models in UiPath, which helps make our development faster than last year's development speed.
We found that UiPath made digital transformation happen within our company. Digital transformation increased for us.
We also like that the solution helped reduce mistakes and freed up the time or hours of our workers, as seen on our dashboard, which helps keep track of the number of hours worked. UiPath helped in freeing up sixty percent of the workers' time.
What needs improvement?
An area for improvement I saw in UiPath is API integration, particularly with Microsoft. If you compare my experience with Power Automate in terms of integration, it is seamless, and you don't have to create trust with other applications. Integration via Power Automate is easy, more of dragging and dropping and then starting, which is still not the case with UiPath, so that should be improved.

The initial setup for UiPath was a bit complex in 2017 because the documentation available at the time was not that great, but nowadays, setting it up may be fine.

Whether UiPath has reasonable or expensive pricing depends on the scale of your organization. It could be a bit pricey for startups, but if you belong to at least a mid-level organization, then the pricing would be okay.
What other advice do I have?
I'm a customer of UiPath.
Whether building automation in UiPath would be easy or difficult depends on the application interface or the website. You first have to check if the application, interface, or UI is going to change over some time. If it won't, you must check whether the selectors are stable enough or if there are runtime changes. This is the initial check you must do to determine if it would be easy or challenging to build automation in UiPath.
In terms of UiPath minimizing the on-premise footprint, my company doesn't have anything on-premises except for SAP systems, so most of it is on the cloud and a portal.
I cannot exactly see currently if company costs were reduced or not by UiPath.
In terms of my organization's implementation strategy, the team started with one bot for development, which was the attended bot, and then scaled it into ten or twenty bots and also used bot operators for the implementation, and then after COVID, switched the automations to unattended.
The number of people required to deploy UiPath depends on the number of deployments your organization has.
UiPath requires some maintenance, but since my organization moved to the cloud, the maintenance part is only secondary and only involves updating the firmware, so there is no maintenance from our side.
Overall, UiPath is an eight out of ten for me.
My advice to others looking into implementing UiPath is to deploy it at a medium scale rather than deploying it at the start, as that would be a bit expensive.
Great user community and Academy classes with an overall reduction in human error
What is our primary use case?
I'm currently working as a solutions architect as well as the lead developer for UiPath. I have a vast number of use cases in various sectors and with SAP enterprise applications. I worked in the insurance sector and health sector, accomplishing different use cases.
I've used the solution in manufacturing in terms of procurement. We deal with a lot of products that come in and out and everything is being tagged in the SAP Enterprise application. We use UiPath RPA in order to close all the purchase orders that are already accomplished - and this needs to be done in SAP. UiPath is completely responsible for interacting with SAP applications in order to close purchase orders.
I have developed a process that handles around 500 to 600 invoices a day, purchase orders a day. I'm running through multiple bots simultaneously.

Whether it is easy or difficult to build automation completely depends upon the behavior of the applications and the complexity of the business process. We have managed to minimize our on-premises footprint. We can use on-prem and cloud deployments which makes the solution much more flexible for our current technology needs.
We've leveraged the Academy courses. Compared to many other automation platforms or software development tools, UiPath provides a very good training portal where every beginner, user, or developer can log in and complete different courses. There are different certificates for security, orchestration, development, et cetera. We can find detailed training sessions and certification courses.
We use AI in our automation. We are still doing some research with our Central Acceptance team in terms of implementing artificial intelligence. However, we have not implemented it so far. We are in the research stage.

It's reduced human error. I cannot say RPA is completely error-free, however, compared to humans, the results are highly error-free. Many of the complex business processes have far fewer errors. Thanks to UiPath we can handle tasks quickly while maintaining the configurations of the project.
UiPath has saved employee time. For example, usually, we will also be developing some of our agenda reports alongside our inventories. With UiPath, we assign each and every employee a robot to do some short tasks to help reduce the burden on the employee.

I use the solution with different customers. Sometimes it's used for financial organizations, or for accounting or ecommerce. It can be used for mortgages, or loan processing for example.
What is most valuable?
We use the automation a lot.
It's very good at document understanding. Training machines and utilizing machine learning models is very easy compared to other models.
The product offers easy integration with APIs.
It helps with email automation and PDF automation.
It is easy to build automation using UiPath in comparison to, for example, Blue Prism or Power Automate.
We use it to implement end-to-end automation. Internal automation is rather important to me. It's something the customer needs. There are multiple processes that are automated and involve API integration as well as document understanding. At the final stage, we'd need reporting as well.
The user community of UiPath is very good. We have access to partner portals and learning portals. The forums are also very good. They have a good support system. If we get stuck, we get extremely helpful answers. In the community, there will be videos about new features coming out and will show the use cases. They show their plans in advance, which is very helpful.
I've used the UiPath Academy classes. There are lots of courses and I have an advanced certificate. The biggest benefit is having some training rather than going into the product and trying to learn it by trial and error. You can either get basic knowledge or do a deep dive. It gives you options to go as deep as you want.
We use AI functionality in our automation program. We use machine learning models, for example. Document understanding uses AI as well. It helps us automate complex and difficult processes. If I have to create complex logic or do some new API integrations, with the help of AI, it's easier. We can automate more processes overall. As you train the machine learning model, and do the right test cases in the right way, it begins to work really well.

What is our primary use case?
My previous company was a share market or brokerage company, and we used UiPath for the client's reports. We used automation to get the records of their clients and get their financial reports in the desired manner. We go to the company database, get the proper data of the clients, and arrange it in the desired manner of our company's officers or the manager for the back office or the accounting department.
We arrange the data in a particular manner. We give it to them so that they can analyze and get the record for themselves, analyze their market reports, and get the desired result. We use automation to get the data in the Excel database so they can use that data in a particular manner for the future aspect of the company's client.
My current organization is a service-based company. Our client is a US-based company that manages the insurance portal of the US. They arrange the insurance portal for their US insurance client. We go to their particular portal and automate it, get the desired data, and save it to the database of the client's company.
Firstly, we used Excel for database use. We are currently managing SharePoint using UiPath and arranging the data on SharePoint, where all the clients can access their data and save the record on their own.
How has it helped my organization?
In my previous organization, one process took a person two to three hours to complete. With automation, that process could be done in only 15 minutes. Two to three hours of hard work could be utilized with another process, and the person is free from that particular complex process. In my current organization, the user needs to log into every portal, get the details, and arrange data in a particular manner.
It took almost four to five hours to get all the insurance details and fill up in a particular manner. This process is now done through automation within one hour or half an hour so that the person can utilize that time with other work. UiPath automation provides optimization, accuracy, and a three-fourth reduction in working time. Compared to other tools, UiPath automation immensely helps a person or an organization.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable features of UiPath are Excel automation and web portal automation. There are many complex details and works in Excel that the operation department does manually. They arrange the data in formulas or in a particular manner. Through automation, Excel work is done very smoothly.
After that, we can arrange the data and save it in the desired manner. When using the web portal, the manual person needs to go to the portal and get the desired information. With UiPath, a lot of work has been done through automation so we can get accurate data in the desired manner.
What needs improvement?
UiPath is a user-friendly tool compared to other automation tools. UiPath can be made easier to learn. There is a lot of complexity in the things we can do in UiPath, like connecting to an organization's databases or using APIs in the process. We are now using SharePoint. There can be more simpler things to connect with SharePoint. We have to go to the SharePoint website, get the client ID or the user ID, put it on UiPath, and then connect every time we start the process. So, there are a lot of things that can be simplified.

UiPath is much easier to use. Stability-wise, the solution has a lot of scope because there are many complex things in other tools. UiPath is a stable solution.
What about the implementation team?
I was involved in the solution's deployment. We had some difficulties at the start of the deployment process. Firstly, we deploy our code on the UiPath orchestrator. But there is a lot of complexity to organize that orchestrator through our organization. We found the solution by deploying our codes on our own Windows server and running it through them.
At first, we did all the R&D on deploying the code ourselves. Then, the DevOps team came in, and they did the rest.
It doesn't need a lot of people to deploy because it is easier to do once you understand the deployment.
What other advice do I have?
We are using on-premises servers to deploy our codes on UiPath. We are using our own server to deploy the code for automation.
Not much maintenance is required for the solution from our end. We deploy the code on the server, and the process runs smoothly after the deployment. However, if there is a change in the process, website, or the way in which we get data, we need to make necessary changes to get the data in a particular manner.
Although I am an engineering person, I was out of touch with technology for eight years. However, I didn't need proper experience to use UiPath because UiPath is a coding-free platform. We can learn UiPath even if we don't know coding. It can be difficult if any nontechnical person wants to learn UiPath, but they can properly understand the UiPath. Other automation tools like Automation Anywhere or Blue Prism are complex tools. But UiPath is the most user-friendly tool for automation.
One process in my previous organization took two or three hours to complete. A person needs to sit at the table and do what's needed for two or three hours, which is a complex process. Once automation was introduced in our company, the process was done in only 15 minutes with accurate data and reports arranged in the desired manner. People don't need to sit at the table for two or three hours; they can be utilized for other things.
UiPath enables us to implement end-to-end automation. In my current organization, I use web portal automation to log into a particular website or portal page and deliver the data to a person who can share the data with higher management. There's no need for human effort to arrange the data for that particular person.
There's a UiPath forum where people can go and ask questions. They connect you with the proper answers as much as possible and give you the proper solution to your problem. Communication with UiPath's user community is much easier.
I've done the foundation course from UiPath Academy, and I'm currently pursuing the advanced certification from UiPath Academy. UiPath Academy courses have benefited me a lot. I was out of touch with technical things, and UiPath was almost a new thing for me. I learned a lot of things through UiPath Academy. It helped me a lot because I learned many things from there and implemented them in the processes.
We are not currently using UiPath's AI functionality, but we are considering using it in the next one or two months.
UiPath has greatly helped reduce human error because UiPath performs the processes accurately. A lot of complex operations are performed on Excel. Through UiPath automation, all the permutations and combinations are applied, and we get accurate results.
UiPath automation has saved us a lot of time because the process takes almost half the time to get things done.

Excel automation and document understanding are valuable features, but the documentation portal is difficult to navigate
What is our primary use case?
We use a feature called Document Understanding to extract data from invoices and generate reports. It uses the invoice number, amount, line amount, description, addresses, remit address, and other fields. This is the current project I'm working on. I'm using all the features available in UiPath to train the invoices to identify all the fields. Then, I deploy the training, create a pipeline, and use that ML skill in my coding while developing a project.
We are doing this for our team talent payments team. They usually receive different invoices from vendors for various reasons. My company currently has 700 vendors listed. These vendors send invoices for their services, and the talent payment team used to fetch and extract the data manually before we started working on this project. Whenever they received an invoice, they would open it and write down the data.
We have now completed phase one of the project and are in phase two. For this process, the bot will receive all the invoices and extract all the data needed by the team. We will then create a consolidated report in Excel for each vendor and present it to the talent team. This automation saves the talent team time. In addition, I have used email automation, Excel automation, API calls, and UI automation in this project.

Building automation using UiPath is really easy. Studio is a drag-and-drop environment with different palettes, search options, and simple properties, inputs, and outputs. It doesn't take much effort to develop a workflow in UiPath, even complex ones. UiPath also has recorders, so we can perform our actions and start recording before we perform them. UiPath will then develop the workflow for us based on our screen actions.
UiPath enables us to implement end-to-end automation, which is important to me from an analytics perspective. It makes it easier for us to provide solutions to businesses, regardless of their requirements. With UiPath, we can keep manual interaction to a minimum, from providing input to getting output. UiPath apps and interactions also make it easier to automate processes. In the past, people would develop scripts to automate tasks, but they had to keep in mind that there would still be some manual work involved, such as preparing an input file. With UiPath, we can minimize this manual intervention and prerequisites. This is a significant advantage.
Everyone on our team uses the Academy Courses when they start using UiPath, and whenever a new feature is added, we search the course list for the updated courses. The biggest benefit is being able to learn UiPath directly from the developers, rather than from a third party. When we learn from a third party, they have to learn UiPath first, and then try to explain it to us based on their own understanding. But when we learn from UiPath, it's like a personal experience, because they developed the product and know how it's supposed to be used. The other great thing about the Academy is that it's very interactive, with question-and-answer sections and plenty of resources. For example, they provide input files so we can try out new features. All in all, the Academy makes it really easy to learn UiPath. We just have to take the startup course, and they explain everything through videos, interactive sections, questions, tests, and data flows.

Sorting through applications was done manually, but with UiPath, the process has been significantly sped up. Overall, UiPath has saved us a lot of time and effort, and it has been a great return on investment.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature is the document understanding feature of this current project, which is better than ABBYY FlexiCapture or Automation Anywhere. It can learn on its own, given enough instructions and data. With training, we can actually train it to recognize the specific fields on invoices that we want. For example, UiPath can still provide information from a few of the invoice fields without training, such as the invoice number and date, which are present on every invoice. However, some vendors have specific fields on their invoices, such as the candidate name, job location, or start date, which we can train UiPath to recognize. This gives us the ability to train UiPath beyond the common things, if we are looking for any specific information or if we want to personalize it for a vendor. We are then able to use this trained model in our code, which is very helpful.
I also like the Excel automation feature. UiPath has recently updated the Excel activities package, which gives us more options with a more modern look and feel.
What needs improvement?
I find the features UiPath provides to be excellent, but the documentation is difficult to maintain. I have noticed that it can be difficult to find information on some features in the UiPath documentation portal. The document portal needs to be kept more up-to-date. UiPath will release the new feature, but the document portal will still have the older version information. The documentation portal could be easier to navigate if it were redesigned to make it easier to find information about a particular feature. It would be great if the portal were updated as soon as new features are released.

I have been using UiPath for almost three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
We have occasionally observed some abnormalities, but we have not yet found the cause. For one of the processes, we are running macros and triggering them with UiPath. These macros can take ten to eleven hours to run. Sometimes, UiPath stops while a macro is still running. Once the macro is completed, UiPath is supposed to perform another task, but the macro takes so long to run that this does not happen. I believe this is a problem with our program, as it is taking too long to complete. These kinds of delays can occur, and that is understandable.
How are customer service and support?
There are many areas where support can improve. However, it is not that bad. In terms of sticking to schedules, they are available quickly and listen to all of the problems. Sometimes, we have hit roadblocks because the people assigned to solve a particular support ticket did not have any idea about the feature. This has caused problems for us, as we have had to spend time filling in another person who actually had the knowledge about that feature. We have run into this problem a few times.

I would rate UiPath seven out of ten. UiPath has a lot of features they are working on but they take a long time to enter production.
Maintenance for UiPath is minimal. Small things such as changing the passwords because of the password rotation policy. We maintain our bots through VMs that run on AWS.
I recommend UiPath because it is a low-code/no-code solution that can be used by non-technical people. The Academy courses, which train users specifically on how to use the tool, make it easy to develop and automate processes. UiPath also offers a community version that includes most of the features of the paid version. Earlier in my career, I learned to use Blue Prism, which is a closed-source solution that only had basic courses available in its academy. It was difficult to use compared to UiPath, and it was hard to get any information on any forum or from its academy on how to use the tool and update it. In terms of learning, use, and understanding, UiPath is much easier than other solutions.
