What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to start with, just regular python, simple ui and cli, docs are well written with examples and very helpful slack comunity.
What do you dislike about the product?
the integrations to 3 party tools is less intuetive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it makes manging and monitoring our data pipelines much easier.

Prefect enables powerful orchestration
What do you like best about the product?
Prefect has enabled our team to orchestrate the execution of a variety of services, with complex interdependencies, into a single flow. Automating complex workflows helps reduce user error and helps engineers focus on their areas of expertise.
What do you dislike about the product?
Compared to some competitors, the language support for Prefect is minimal (Python only). Support for defining flows in additional languages would enable polyglot engineering environments to leverage Prefect even more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used Prefect to help coordinate infrastructure automation processes across multiple environments for software engineering and machine learning teams.
Great features poorly documented
What do you like best about the product?
The architecture and framework are great for our orchestration purposes. It allows for different levels of customization where necessary while also providing powerful delivered functionality, e.g. blocks, where applicable.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation is good where actually documented, but, mostly, it is undocumented. On the bright side, they always have somebody available either on Slack or by support ticket who can solve my problem in a single call, but documentation is my preferred means of learning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Replacing Astronomer as our cloud orchestration solution. Prefect makes deployment and testing a lot easier and quicker.
Taking workflow orchestration to the next level
What do you like best about the product?
Everything you know and like about airflow, without all the extra baggage. Event driven orchestration makes life easier
What do you dislike about the product?
Some early teething problems with running the agents within our infra, but that is now a thing of the past
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team has a role to automate and streamline as many workflows as possible to let our small team be more efficient. Not possible without Prefect
Great ETL tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it is integrated right in with python since that is how most of the scripts are written.
What do you dislike about the product?
One down side is that prefect is not hte fastest since it does rely on python
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Moving data
prefect a great tool for workflow orcestration
What do you like best about the product?
simple task deployment.
seperation between worker polls and orchestration agent
great documentation and really easy to extend to our exact needs.
easy to understand data flow
seperation between worker polls and orchestration agent
great documentation and really easy to extend to our exact needs.
easy to understand data flow
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the flow deployment runs ui a little counter intuitive - some indentation or something could be used to ensure there is clear seperation between links to flows and deployements and runss
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
dag orchestration
Perfect tool
What do you like best about the product?
It is really easy to use. It has help us to orchestate every process.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a little hard to start the process, but when you are familiar with it. you are good to go
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Orchestrate the process
Orchestrated flows generally easy to manage
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to debug flows, re-run flows, and see upcoming scheduled runs.
What do you dislike about the product?
UI could be easier to use. Reviewing past runs requires an extra step of filtering out scheduled runs, otherwise you have to scroll down a lot if you have many runs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduled runs for ingesting and exporting data
Best cloud flow manager I've used so far
What do you like best about the product?
Prefect is the easiest-to-use flow manager I've used. the preexisting github repos and how-to youtube videos helped me get set up quickly and allow me to manage flows as a one-person team. I'm not a data engineer but my responsabilities include some data engineering, so the low bar to entry really gives Prefect an edge over a tool like airflow which requires a more extensive knowlegde of tools like ECS and Docker in order to create and maintain a project.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the training materials weren incomplete or out of date and required a little hacking on my part, also I wish it were easier to set up email and slack alerts for failed tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prefect allows me to run my datasceice reliably and securely. our organization's data model relies on a series of algorithms updating things like churn risk, LTR estimates and content recommendations and Prefect makes it easy to write those models, test and laucnh them on AWS servers and have them reliably run and update.
My favourite data tool at the moment
What do you like best about the product?
Once it's set up it just works! Very nice developer experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation is at times rather confusing, however they have told me that that's something they are actively working on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data related automations.
