Strong and focussed in the area of CI/CD with latest technology sets and excellent support
What do you like best about the product?
Excellent support from Cloudbees for anything you need to implement and solve complex CI/CD issues. Their focus on technology and developing self-healing architectures and robust CI/CD pipelines with easy and appealing workflows are beautiful. Cloudbees provide continuous support when you need help during a major upgrade, which I think was pretty good.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing in particular about the usability, software and support. Unclear about the "user based" licensing model.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CI/CD, Test automations, and Anything that can be automated is automated using CloudBees Jenkins. You can host the software in any Cloud environment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great support and good technology improvements
One of the best tool to monitor DevOps processes.
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of implementation. How quickly I implemented it and was on my way to overlook other system tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not useful for someone who does not use Jenkins. We at SHM, does not use Jenkins, which was the reason we couldn't continue with our trial.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
During the short time, we implemented Jenkins on our POC environment, We were able to monitor the deployment process. Which if it had been possible, would be highly useful to use in our production. Although, since we were not using Jenkins in our production, we could not do that.
CICD build pipelines at scale
What do you like best about the product?
I like the self service aspects that Cloudbees enables. Also many of the plugins work out of the box, without any dependency issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jenkins as a whole, feels overly complicated, the configuration management piece scrolls on and on and on. There should be some focus from the community on making this less goofy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are in the middle of a DevOps transformation within our company, and this is allowing us to provide easy to manage Jenkins masters so developers can tailor their workflows to suit their needs without impacting others.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We deployed this on Kubernetes, and I believe this is the write approach for Jenkins in general. You can define the container and image and start versioning your build environment. The slaves are pods, they are created, the do their jenkins thing, and then they go away. This makes this totally elastic.
Cloudbees for CI/ CD
What do you like best about the product?
We implemented CI/CD for our current projects and built th timeline
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't see any dislikes here. Will find out if any later.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Continuation integration has been major focus in my current project. We have a mchieved this.
Great for small teams without dedicated devops
What do you like best about the product?
It was quick to spin up and not maintain
What do you dislike about the product?
We had several outages where we were not able to do builds
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were using it for Jenkins builds of our Java Web Applications. It was great to automate builds.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you can handle occasional outages
Satisfied customer
What do you like best about the product?
Management tasks are extremely simplified now that we adopted Cloudbees Core.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the internal work flows had to be calibrated and since some of the teams were using spinnaker, there was not an easy to migrate over. But I dont think it is a flaw from cloudbees , but it could have been easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Significantly less down times, integration with openstack as well as DCOS and we are already banking on learnings and experiences gained from using Jenkins for a very long time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try, it banks on years of expertise from Jenkins.
Good product value
What do you like best about the product?
Having professional support available to solve company specific challenges during the implementation
What do you dislike about the product?
Compared to the open source edition, the only downside is the fact that licenses must be paid
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Better security implemented, possibility to have multiple master Jenkins tailored for each team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Integrate Devoptics without surcharge.
Open source with support
What do you like best about the product?
Cloudbees support is decent, though they are a bit myopic when it comes to open source plugins.
What do you dislike about the product?
Product is excessively complicated and confusing to use. Installation is a huge process when open source Jenkins is so easy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Core doesn't personally provide me any benefits, I am not planning to renew. It may help those who needs more guidance in deploying CI/CD.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look at open source Jenkins first.
