Jenkins Engineer
What do you like best about the product?
CloudBees support has always responded to my problems and questions extremely quickly and with great attention to detail.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing that I dislike about CloudBees Support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having support there as a sounding board to bounce ideas off of has greatly helped us provided improved services to our users.
Plugin testing as a full bundle
What do you like best about the product?
The thorough testing that undergoes before shipping the whole core and plugins together as bundles, this saves our team time to manage this ourselves
Also in case of issues, having a call to help us debug and solve the issue helped
Also in case of issues, having a call to help us debug and solve the issue helped
What do you dislike about the product?
Ability to test our own custom plugin or say a new type of bundle is missing. It would be great to provide an exposure to a test environment on your cloud which can help us do this and run through your test suites etc
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Well tested software bundle of Jenkins, and recommending the upgrades/fixes/tuning
Needs a better HA and horizontal scaling story
What do you like best about the product?
The things you can do with it are infinitely configurable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Too many causes of downtime events. Can't run active+active masters, 'database' are flat files. Upgrading requires downtime.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Provide CI pipelines to developers to continuously build and test code.
Not heavily used but responsive and helpful
What do you like best about the product?
Having some backup for when you find yourself in the weeds of working with Jenkins
What do you dislike about the product?
Support it great to have, but haven't found anything to dislike yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Architectural guidance
Jenkins, but better
What do you like best about the product?
The enterprise grade plugins and support that cloudbees supplies
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that underlying changes like service name and directory structure cause breakages in the upgrade path
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use cloudbees jenkins to automate our software delivery processes.
Good support for our Jenkins Cluster
What do you like best about the product?
I like that we can reach out to CloudBees support at any time when we run into an issue or have questions. If needed we're also able to get on a call for our urgent issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Support doesn't always have the answers that we hope they will.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have an older Jenkins Enterprise cluster so we often run into issues with upgrades, plugin support, etc. We look to support to help us through some of the complex issues we face.

Reviewing cloudbees
What do you like best about the product?
1) The best thing I like is - Beyond all the HA / DR - If I store the Jenkins Jobs / Configuration meta data on NFS mount, I can tear down Jenkins UI many times and rebuild it. So the scary story of - "What if Jenkins dies?" is never in the back of my mind.
2) The RESTFul APIs for Jenkins is incredible. Opens door to more automation :-)

What do you dislike about the product?
1) Operations Center not giving a full visibility of Master / Slaves / Job performance. The bottlenecks and pain points should be owned by Operations Center. Right now we are relying on ton of cluttered plugins.
2) Cloudbees core is very fuzzy on CD piece. Too many options and very confusing for companies to grapple with the best ways to move forward

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- A solid CI set up.
- Easy to maintain
- Less training cycle involved
- More power to users to expand via plugins (Plugin philosophy is both good & bad)

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Negotiate with Cloudbees about Electric Flow (Cloudbees Flow) too :-) . It solves the Release Orchestration problems. Super good tool, but I am not sure where Cloudbees is heading on this tool as Electric Cloud was acquired.
