Db2 Relational Database done right
What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility and scalebility through full family of Db2 products from on prem to cloud using same code base.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having to use federation to query between database even on the same server

DB2 is great and it work nice. I like it better than sql database. Great tool actually and very very easy to learn . if you know any database then this also very easy

the inbuilt functions are not that great. There is a lot to improve.

Perhaps the limitations on the AS400.
With new tools it's improving like Python - Java - Etc.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Remwmber that some of the standard SQL statements are alightly different.
Works well with ASP.net however if you utilize remember the naming conventions from AS400 differ from standard DB2.

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to learn and use the product . Best use in legacy systems and easy to use with mainframe COBOL
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not see any major disadvantage to dislike the product
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using to store card data and create reports out of it . Data to create reports are easy to extract and the end user view to analyze their product is easy

Good product
Time tested database which has fallen behind to the new competition.

ANSCII compliance is high, Queries are similar to Oracle SQL, Since it is there from long time lot of help is available online. Available both on linux as well as windows. Mostly written in JAVA and C, C++. Less vulnerabilities is known. Support system is good. World wide agents are available. Queries are simple
What do you dislike about the product?
DB2 has stiff competition, It has fallen way behind Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle. Updates are not rolling out from a long time. Lot of good features are being deprecated. Windows client is a nightmare. There was 'Control Center desktop client that has been removed. Very complicated installation. New hardware and networking advances are not being utilized.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Backend Data storage in Relational table format. It is good RDBMS suitable for traditional monolithic applications.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's comparatively less cost compared to Oracle / Microsoft Sql server. I don't thing IBM is doing lot of investment on DB2. If your applications are mission critical and you want future proofing it's better to go with Microsoft SQL Server. If your app is legacy and it's not too important to scale then you can go with DB2

Storing normalized data in the data model.

If data need to be stored secure then DB2 is the best option.
Look no further if you are conerned about maintenance costs

IBM DB2 is easy to install and is cheaper compared to its competitors such as Oracle. Hardware upgrade is also cheaper.
What do you dislike about the product?
Very difficult to find professional experts for IBM DB2. Efficiency monitoring could be made better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Once a DB2 environment is set-up and ready to use, it's very cheap to manage with minimal licensing & support cost.

Give personal recommendations to customers regarding the best management tools to use with DB2.
