we started using receComplexity: IBM Db2 is a robust and feature-rich database management system, but its extensive capabilities can make it complex to set up and administer, particularly for users who are new to the platform. Understanding and utilizing all the advanced features of Db2 may require a learning curve and specialized expertise.
Licensing Costs: Db2 is a commercial database management system, and the licensing costs associated with its deployment and usage may be a consideration for some organizations, particularly smaller ones with limited budgets. It's important to carefully evaluate the licensing model and associated costs based on your specific needs and budget.
Limited Third-Party Ecosystem: While Db2 integrates well with other IBM products and technologies, its third-party ecosystem may not be as extensive as some other database systems. This can potentially limit the availability of community resources, plugins, or tools developed by external vendors specifically for Db2.ntly. we migrated from db to db2.

What do you like best about the product?
Fot me the best feature of this database , is how lite it is , like any IBM product is almost imposible to put it out of line after gets install so for me as a developer is not another problem to be worried , also is it a diferrent versions of it , Express , full etc , even a linux version , that a very high point in my list.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not everything has to be perfect but my major dislike for this is how dificult it is to install it , is a problem that can take days to get it done , in my first experience wooth this was really dificult to install , and some incompatibiliys with windows servers that where a pretty big problem for me as a junior. Also is very expensive, so not many companies can affort this type of databases
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Db2 is a really strong database , pretty easy to use and the documentation is a lot of them , most of it is from IBM but another programers make some manuals to help us to work with database also. We make it run over a 2008 servers and works like a charm , this is why we got it

What do you like best about the product?
DB2 offers a lot of performance options that can be tweaked from SAS (Most of my use of DB2 is done through a SAS to DB2 connector).
DB2 BLU is also a great improvement on a somewhat older technology. It really brought the DB2 system up to par with newer versions of competitors.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the db2 sql syntax is not really intuitive. Make sure to have documentation available or an access to google for web searches.
