Provided a sound foundation for SQL understanding
What do you like best about the product?
Was able to port knowledge obtained from extensive Oracle and SQL Server background. Made the transition to DB2 easy. Like the flexibility to use QMF for Workstation as well as several of the features provided with DB2 Data Studio.
What do you dislike about the product?
Fluidity of functionality between DB2 UDB and DB2 z/oS.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Core business datastore. Houses our claims, member and provider databases.

Great performance with easy setup
What do you like best about the product?
Pattern devlopment on Pureapp and HADR capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
Learning curve in getting detailed performance metrics more deep under the hood than the surface/natural stuff.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
RDBMS at scale for core distributed applications.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Carefully plan out your compute platform you intend to host DB2 on for performance and cost implementation advantages over others (AIX on Pseries vs. PureApp vs. Linux).

Db2 is allows for a lot of customization on the DBAs end to best suit the business needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Db2 has a lot of manual maintenance/configuration that needs to be performed by DBAs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Db2 allows for the secure, stable, and scalable storage of data.

The best characteristic is the integration of the data

Nothing honestly, the system is fine to use.

Using our old system was complicated and hectic, we have been able to easily manage our existing data.

Db2 Warehouse on Cloud has excellent performance and flexibility. As a managed service, it increases the IT staff ability to focus on business requirements.

Disaster Recovery is still being flushed out

Manufacturing systems performing Unit Testing needing near real time analytics

Definitely consider it. The performance is blazing, the managed service is great and the scaleability is excellent

What do you like best about the product?
Good DB2 Database servers for Relational DB. Each to install and setup the product and good for administation.
What do you dislike about the product?
The DB2 Product is less used in IT industry. Loosing its demand.

Lacks in memory data processing capabilites offered by Teradata, Greenplum, Hana and others.
