IBM bigsql (DB2) for hadoop for complex queries
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to handle complex queries in a compatible way at scale.
What do you dislike about the product?
Installation procedure and documentation. Also, website links for specific product versions would sometimes not work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data integration on prem and in the cloud

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to have journals and use of sql along with other tools to display data
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have any dislikes, really - maybe the spead of journal receiving
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to store data, retrieve data with little effort compared to other databases. The spead and reliability is the best

The flexibility of the application, abillity to upgrade on the fly, ease of use

We would like better support from IBM. We had an incident with CMOD, IBM said it was a DB2 issue, we opened a ticket, DB2 team said it was an application issue. Still fighting that battle
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Better reporting, customer access and overall better customer support.

What do you like best about the product?
The robust of IBM DD2 is very important to our system
What do you dislike about the product?
hard to find the engineer in Viet Nam. Not many SE can implement and admin the DB2. Sometimes we need to pay much to IBM service team.

provide robust backend for customer warehouse

What do you like best about the product?
DB2's ability to work and share dara across z/OS lpars is fantastic. Everything works smooth and extremely fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not anything really. Maintainabilty perhaps, when you have to service the product, but I may be worong as this is not really. my work area.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are doing banking for around 200 financial instititutions large and small in Scandinavia, and DB2 gives us fast and secure access to data in a very secure manner.

It is the right choice on the mainframe, as it integrates with almost alle relevant platforms
DB2 continues to be very powerful relational db

Stability and resilience and recovery connection modern day smart devices, IOT Internet of Things and connected solution requiring mainframe entrapped data

Was frustrated before that lot of valuable mission critical data to port to touch point required many extraction processes this is solved with 'Rest APIs and Zowe Opensource based products like CLI

Scalability and bringing mission ritical mainframe entrapped data to touch points completing User Experience

Building a business case of Mission critical mainframe data anytime anywhere anydevice as a service
Incredibly stable and scalable, hard to administer

DB2 is rock solid. It scales to meet a near unlimited transactional demand, and provides capability to handle distributed disaster recovery, high availability, and instantaneous query response time across multiple goegrophaies.

The tools to administer DB2 are archaic, and non-intuitive

I typically use DB2 as a database for eCommerce sites. DB2 provides robust data management for catalog and order management
