we heavily use db2 in our organization

The usage within the company where data access and performance is important is a good fit with DB2.

infrastructure configuration sometimes takes longer than expected

The product is very reliable. The instances that facilitates my environment has never had an outage.

Nothing that I can think of at this time.

It supports my Manage File Transmission solution and also holds history data for my workload automation system.

i liked the easyness to perform tasks like create tables, update columns, and make users and changing their privileges , once you get a hold of how to use the web interphase

i think it could have a build in visual help to learn to perform the tasks, they are actually easy, but it could be bulletproof for dummyes

well it solves the infrastructure problem, you are free of searching for hardware, servers and tune up, its benefits are that is fast and reliable anywhere

its very easy to learn for people with basic expertise as a dba

DB2 databases allow for easy access to data to create reporting. It allows for developers and users to determine the information that is needed to meet their goals.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have no complains with DB2 at this time.

Beneficial for easy access to data when solving users problems

It's a full featured sql database with a good set of features

IDE for Db2. It's not the same experience as working with Oracle (for ex. using Toad)

We used db2 as the database for our applications to store structured data for sql queries.

The DB2 architecture, with regards to system performance, stability, recoverability and ease of use. i

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With DB2 for z/OS, we are able to quickly deliver data mining solutions. We often are able to generate ad-hoc reporting capabilities that we are able to provide to our internal customers to empower them to generate their own reports moving forward, saving resources and getting them what they need quicker.

Keep it on the mainframe baby

What do you like best about the product?
This database product is the preferred choice for large businesses. The speed and ability is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
When we have issues they are highly visible. Often DB2 is incorrectly blamed for issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently I am working with our mobile application DB2 backend tables. The speed and ability is great.
New to DB2
What do you like best about the product?
I am a new DBA on z/OS. I've found this system to be very intuitive and IBM's support is just as great.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike about DB2 is not knowing all of the ways to use it. Example, tips and tricks.

I'm still new to it so I'm not sure as of yet.
