Measuring real customer experience and act upon that

What do you like best about the product?
Dynatrace is really on top of it's game. New technologies like nodejs and containers are fully supported and they really try to stay ahaid in stead of following.
The new AI features in Dynatrace, the voice-ops / chat-ops with Davis and Alexa just work out of the box.
Problems are reported in stead of incidents, so you get the root cause in stead of 1000 separate incidents and you can replay the entire problem scenario.
Visually complete and speed-index provide the ultimate user experience measures which really reflect what the user sees.
The ease of deployment and updates. Certainly with the new Dynatrace, but even with AppMon.
Dynatrace support is great. The forums contain a lot of usefull info, but when you have an issue or question and you really require help, the support team is really there for you. Info is correct and within time. Sometimes they even create specific fix-packs just for you.
What do you dislike about the product?
As long as it's web and mobile (IOS and Android), it's all very easy. But from the moment you start with rich clients it becomes more challenging.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dynatrace provides insights into your applications, your infrastructure but especially on your users and how they experience your apps. This is very valuable for devs and ops to understand what the real impact is of their code and infrastructure on your users.
But also for business and management it brings a lot of added value. Investments can be made which really help your users and you can measure it instead of guessing.

Benefits:
For a rather large application which we support, we have a rather small devops team that does it all with great confidence. We can anticipate on problems and fix issues a lot faster than before.

Depth and Breadth of Dynatrace

What do you like best about the product?
The capability of dynatrace oneAgent to install once and the ability to instrument dynatrace based on what it discovers, be it, Java, Apache, .Net or IIS is really great. There is no need to select an install based on the application platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
The constant name changing. Appmon, Dynatrace, synthetic monitoring, gomez. where will it end?
No Single pane view of UEM, Synthetic and RUM. Confusing Client platforms, thick client, dynatrace web, webstart client.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trouble shoot application slowdowns. Ability to track down what is happening under the covers when a user complains about a bottleneck.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for it. Although expensive, it will make your life easier.

What do you like best about the product?
We are running a project to deploy Dyanatrace as a key component of our end to end monitoring solution for a critical business service. Dynatrace provides a way to look after the service end to end from network layer to the application layer, and make a efficient way for trouble shooting.
What do you dislike about the product?
I expect to see more tools in Dynatrace can help deep drive into packet layer analysis helps to quick locate the issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can use Dynatrace to monitor the end to end service 24x7 which is really good especially it can certainly look into the application layer, for example to identify a slow HTTP response quickly.

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best part of dynatrace is that the tool is very lightweight and very easy to install. It is very simple and interesting to install agents on the multiple servers. I like the UI and dashboards that we can build on dynatrace and their pure paths session is very very informative.it exactly points to the exception and we can pinpoint using those parameters. The server monitoring is very accurate in this tool. we are able to prevent many critical Incidents with this tool and genarate many data reports using DT ui which we are not able to do earlier. this helps in visualizing data better. this helps in presenting the data in more advance technology.we are able to solve many problems using dynatrace. the main thing we achieved using this dynatrace software is that we managed to minimize the downtimes of out applications by reacting to the alerts
What do you dislike about the product?
The one thing I do not like about dynatrace is that their WebUI dashboards are very very slow. they seriously have to improve their WebUI dashboard configuration and SSL timeouts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we are able to solve many problems using dynatrace. the main thing we achieved using this dynatrace software is that we managed to minimize the downtimes of out applications by reacting to the alerts that were triggered by dynatrace. the server monitoring is very accurate that we are able to identify the issue's proactively and fixed it
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would absolutely advice using dynatrace to other users.

Good experience

What do you like best about the product?
I like the auto email alerting feature the most, as it is setup based on the application error or condition.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not dislike, but improve...current issue is adding new resource or removing old resource,so would be interesting if we could include group distribution email ids for alerting
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have about 150 servers to be monitored and manual monitoring is a pain. So Dynatrace helps our team in Monitoring server health, CPU utilization, application errors alerting mechanism and drill down to the error details using Purepaths.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dynatrace helps our team in Monitoring server health, CPU utilization, application errors alerting mechanism and drill down to the error details using Purepaths for more than 150+ servers. Easy to install and use for support engineers and esp great tool for analyzing for production critical issues reported.

User Friendly Tool for Real Time Server and Application Health Check Monitor

  • December 22, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JVM Monitoring , Real Time Health Check, JVM Logs, Application Health Check, Application Performance Monitoring , Alerts and Trigerrs, Application Performance Monitoring, CPU Memory FILE System Monitoring Web Monitoring capacity. Dynatrace is a great platform to debug the issues, latency and performance. Very good software with dashboard to represent the statistics to leadership. The service always shows rather than tells when it comes to website performance and UX, using bold charts and visuals like the aforementioned amusing emojis to give even the most technically inept business user a clear picture. Overall its a great software to user in the production environment. Dynatrace saves a lot of time in determining what is the likely cause of an issue a end user maybe experiencing. We had users in a remote office that were complaining of application latency and we were able to determine the problem stemmed from a router configuration with the help of dynatrace.Dynatrace has designed its agents to capture limited stack traces for every transaction execution, that's the great thing about Dynatrace. Dynatrace is a product that helps developers, testers and operations to ensure their applications work fast and reliable. Dynatrace is the only all-in-one, full stack monitoring solution for PCF. Out of the box, Dynatrace identifies all components of your Pivotal Cloud Foundry environment, instruments them, dynamically baselines them, and shows you all their dependences. Dynatrace detects application dependencies and provides one consolidated view on application performance for: SAP Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Azure and all other leading cloud.
What do you dislike about the product?
Requires application knowledge and hard to use for beginners
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Real time monitoring help to reduce downtime. It also helps to get detailed trace of each transaction.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Recommend this tool for 24x7 critical application monitoring

Dynatrace Performance Monitoring

  • December 21, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Installation and application instrumentation is relatively easy. Once instrumented, Dynatrace AppMon collects a lot of information out of the box. All of the data is accessible from easy to create charts and dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
Installation of client software that is version dependent on the Dynatrace AppMon server can be a little tricky to navigate in organizations where installing software on a workstation must pass through security checkpoints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dynatrace AppMon helps to narrow the focus of performance problems so that you start looking closer to the problem. It also provides the ability to understand how problems affect customers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Spend the time to learn how to navigate Dynatrace AppMon. There is a ton of valueable data collected, but it will take time to understand how to find what you need.

What do you like best about the product?
GUI's ease of use. How all the data I want to see is always only just a couple of clicks away. Dashboarding is very clean and professional looking - yet still very customizable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Frequency of FixPack releases.
The very involved version upgrade process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Metrics about both our infrastructure and our applications (business transactions - e.g., performance, latency, bottlenecks, end user experience, etc.)
