Mediocre Mapbox
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of access for both the users as well as customers once the project is complete.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not very maluable as software programs go. It has technical limits that were traded away for ease of use. It is not a good mix for my use.

Other than it's internal simplicity, I can gain more from different software programs.

Mapbox Review

Mapbox has a comprehensive interface that allows user to design quality maps with little prior skills in CSS

The map designs did not fit the needs of the project, forcing us to consider other products.

Really great visual maps with plenty of customization. Really takes your website to a next level.
What do you dislike about the product?
Website can be tricky at times to use, specifically with the coding. I feel like I love the maps but am not utilizing them to their full potential. A helpful youtube tutorial would be AWESOME to see all of the possible options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mapbox helps me while I am web designing to make data more interesting and visual. Pages which feature a mapbox maps tend to have more viewrs altogether.

The tools to draw/do graphic design updates aren't the best. It's best to export into photoshop.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Create customized maps that share information for our customers
Great, other than the new pricing model
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, documentation and the API is very clean and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing model is made so that if your map gets any kind of traction on a blog or news website you're bound to be looking at a $500 - 1,000 bill.
Maps are charged per view. A view is 4 tiles on the screen. So most likely as soon as a user loads it and pans they've already used 2 views.
Not the easiest model to relay to clients since it's hard to estimate the amount of map views they will actually use, since one viewer could pan around a lot of the map and use 50. Someone else may not pan at all and use 1.
Other than PAYG model there is only one other, Commercial. Which is $500/month. Instantly pricing out most small agencies. There did used to be about 3 levels all with different map view quotas, which was better for scaling up your production pipeline.

MapBox - a cartographers take
What do you like best about the product?
Mapbox is a powerful mapmaking tool for expert and new mapmakers and is intuitive and simple to use. With each update it gets better and better.
It takes the coding headache out of styling and allows quick map production and export. Its focus on design is the reason it stands out above other map-building platforms.

Great platform for creating data visualizations
What do you like best about the product?
I've used Mapbox for creating map-based data visualizations, primarily via Mapbox Studio. I like the ease of use and ease of publishing online for embedded visualizations, as well as the options for customizing the style of the maps. I'm also very impressed with how responsive the maps are for the viewer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating your own map layers and merging them with Mapbox data can be a little clunky and take some getting used to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data visualization. The primary win is for a non-geo-expert like me to create professional-looking visualizations for communicating with colleagues and customers.
Excellent Mapping Tool, Limited Utility for Print
What do you like best about the product?
Mapbox offers a relatively straightforward interface, and great map tile sets, out of the box. With a little knowledge of CSS, map styles can be edited easily. The ability to export high-resolution maps to a raster image format is essential.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is limited control over scale when exporting maps for print applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used MapBox to create custom maps for a print guidebook.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great and easy for simple mapping projects, but there is a steep learning curve if you want more customization.
