Easy understanding of the applications

I don't have anything I dislike. As I said before, the report accesses are easily accessible.

At the moment we don't have any problems, but the tool helps a lot to track the results on a daily basis.

Planning Analytics - Versatility at your hands
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that it is easy to use and easy to learn even as a non-technical person, it can be used for a multitude of applications from Reporting, to Process flow, to Data generation.
Implimentation is simple especially using IBM Planning Analytics Cloud, which also comes with a great support function with quick turn around SLA's.

What do you dislike about the product?
Managing the server, Planning Analytics is very versatile, but you need to watch the resource impact of your actions which are not always pobvious.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our business has diverse data sets and is spread across multiple sites. We need a tool to create summary Financial information for Planning, Forecasting and Reporting that peoiple can access and which is easy to use through an intuitive interface. This is Planning Analytics all over, its database access direct, work flow through Planning Analytics Workspace, "Pivot Table" in Excel style user inteface through Planning Analytics for Excel fits perfectly. We are also using Rules and Feeders and TurboIntegrator to generate dynamic forecasting to reduce the need for manual calculation of financial plans.
The main benefit is that becuase we're finance people and therefore not IT specialists, the ease of writing code and designing structures makes it invaluale to us.

What do you like best about the product?
Planning analytics offers a lot to appreciate especially for users focused on forecasting and reporting capabilities with its deep integration points with other tools and AWS services. The engine allows users to analyze huge amounts of data quickly enabling real time planning and forecasting. The platform is highly customizable and can be tailored to fit business needs and with plug ins available to access its data via Excel, REST API, or web based experiences.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Planning Analytics is a robust tool, there are a few downsides or challenges that users often encounter. While the TM1 engine is designed for speed, some users report performance issues with extremely large and complex models which can slow down operations. IBM has invested resources into the database but lacks on the front-end side and it is almost a requirement to leverage other 3rd party tools to cover IDE like development and web experiences.

We are able to create unique models that are catered for our business lines quickly with a turn around time of less than 3 months.

The server engine provides unique features that are not found in any other products to support real time analysis at scale

data model can be inflexible and may need rework when requirements change.

PA is able to model our complex business within rules and provides real time analysis into our data during budgeting cycles.

The visuals are clean and easy to understand, making it simple for users to track the most important metrics and other things like exploring trends and insights in real time. it helps streamline decision-making since everything you need is in a clear and user-friendly format.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its cost. it can be expensive, especially for small businesses.

It is helping us solve the problem of managing and coordinating our sales and operations planning in a more streamlined way. Before, it was challenging to keep everything organized and updated, especially with changes in demand or inventory.
Seemless integration with Excel
What do you like best about the product?
The single most thing I like about IBM Analytics is the seemless integration with Excel.

There is quite a bit of time needed at the begininng to learn how to become comfortale when navigating the software

It solves the problem of the comparatively few features of excel without having to move all of our current processes over to a new software
