Best Tool for SEO
What do you like best about the product?
I love the Data Cube to find new keywords and competitor insights. BrightEdge is easy to use and easy to pull out actionable tasks to improve SEO performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel like it would be helpful to have some additional navigation within Settings. I'd like to easily toggle back and forth between adding keywords and keyword groups. No easy way to do that today, without clicking back into Settings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We optimize for individual business units, instead of our site overall. Building out separate keyword groups, page groups and dashboards has really helped tell our story for each BU.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Setup weekly or biweekly calls with your BrightEdge CSM to build the relationship and maximize their services.
Great SEO Tool
What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to get a quick overview of how we're performing for our main keywords. Plus the insights they provide around pages that have issues or errors. It makes it really easy to send to our dev team in order to make the fixes.
What do you dislike about the product?
For me the only downside is that I have to spend the time to go into the tool and set up the reports I want.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Developing content that our users think is important. It's helped us move away from content we thought was important that was driving no traffic and had high bounce rates to more traffic with lower bounce rates.
SEO Under One Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Having all of my SEO resources on one dashboard shortens my workflow when it comes to keyword research and optimizing my pages. Brightedge allows me to keep up with our rankings along with keeping an eye on our competition.
I love that BrightEdge is very hands-on with our team with their suggestions and always readily available to ask questions. Their platform abbreviates my workflow when it comes to keyword research and seeing where we rank for keywords of interest.

What do you dislike about the product?
The errors posted on the site audit can find inaccurate information when it comes to internal linking and backlinks analysis can sometimes be inconsistent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
BrightEdge lets you know which keywords will be ranking for Local 3-Packs which is critical for local businesses.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Brightedge is worth the investment for any company that does SEO in-house so long as you can afford it.
Easy-to-use platform and professional support
What do you like best about the product?
The dashboard is intuitive and easy to use. As our team does not have any prior experience using an SEO platform, this has been a great relief. Also, we are able to run in-depth reports on our website’s performance – especially around keywords – which is helping us to refine our content strategy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a lot! Some of the reports can be difficult to decipher, but this hasn’t been a problem as our rep, Nick, is always on hand to help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data Cube is helping us to overhaul our SEO strategy across the business, so that we can reach a wider audience with our content. In the past, we have produced content that could have been better optimised, and therefore did not perform as well as it should have. Now, we are able to use advanced data – especially around keywords – to identify the topics our customers want to read about. This means we can write relevant content that is effectively optimised beforehand, rather than optimising content after it has been written. We look forward to seeing the long-term lift this new strategy has on our content performance.
The Golden Standard for SEO Research
What do you like best about the product?
Data Cube is a fantastic tool that our team leverages on a daily basis. Overall, the platform does a great job providing rich insights for keywords and we are able to gain a holistic overview of how our website is performing, as well as how we stack up against competitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
The content feature is a great addition to BrightEdge, however, the tool can use further refinement. The algorithm behind the targeted analysis can perhaps be tweaked in order to capture more relevant headlines.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
BrightEdge allows us to tell a powerful story of how our brand is perceived in the search landscape and allows us to realize our potential and maximize our SEO footprint in the SERP. By closely monitoring and tracking keyword performance, we are able to clearly define goals and prioritize terms that will make the biggest impact for our firm.
Extremely usefull tool and support
What do you like best about the product?
BrightEdge has teaching approach. They have guided us through strategy that has helped our website and has also made me a much stronger SEO professional. Our content strategy is much better now and this is being reflected in the data.
What do you dislike about the product?
SEO takes time. We are a large organization with a small team. I would tell other companies to expect the first year to be foundation laying. You will see some good results/wins in the first year. You will see a lot more results/wins if you lay a solid foundation and stick with it over time.
I wish you could select all service areas and pull local keywords from custom markets. This data is not available from Google in this way though, so it is not possible at this time.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using BrightEdge to drive our content strategy. This gives us the ability to base our content on data, rather than creating content and then working backwards to see if we can boost results. It does also give us the ability to audit existing content and improve it greatly. At the end of the day, the biggest benefit is that we now have the data and ability to drive and back-up the decisions we want to make for the website.
We are also seeing where we can make more technical improvements such as updates to our CMS or data-driven elements on a page.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Plan to dedicate a content lead who can spend some extra time in this tools and working with BrightEdge within the first year to get the most out of it. We have realized the value of increasing efforts in the platform over time, but if you are able to carve out more time early on it is my experience that the data tends to reflect how much attention is given.
Data Cube is the best feature
What do you like best about the product?
Data Cube provides so much insight into how your site/a specific page is doing!
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not the most client-friendly platform in terms of presenting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are looking to what are pages are ranking for (not just what we are tracking).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is great to use but there are a lot of aspects to the platform that take a bit of work to get used to. There are several features that you need to practice with before getting the hang of.
Excellent Platform with Superior Service
What do you like best about the product?
The forward-thinking this platform provides is among the best in the industry.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be cumbersome to add in new keywords and groups.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use BrightEdge for reporting but also for opportunity forecasting. Being able to tell our clients what they can expect if they give us more time and resources is one of the biggest benefits.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
While not entirely a full-service SEO tool, it's helpful for content creation and SEO reporting.
BrightEdge has given a small team results an agency couldn't
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to use and intuitive. When we log in we know exactly what we need to work on to quickly achieve results, fix errors and stay on top of our SEO.
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been a few times that the website crawl has been inaccurate and therefore we had to reconnect code or create service tickets to get it resolved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working with BrightEdge has given us amazing demonstratable results that we can share with Directors, Senior Management and Ownership. We also have better control over the keywords and content of our site so we can better prepare for the seasonality of the business.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is pricey and there is going to be some work getting to know it but it is definitely worth the cost
Easy-to-Use for not only SEOs but for non-technical people as well
What do you like best about the product?
We are a publishing company and the SEO team finds it useful to easily do research and reporting within the platform. Our editors who are not as tech savvy find it easy to use when doing keyword research or getting an idea how their keywords are ranking or how they stack up against their competition. BrightEdge Recommendations is also helpful for non-tech savvy people to understand. With other platforms there is a lot of filtering involved and the more clicks or input fields a non-tech savvy person has to do, the more confusing it will be for them and the adoption of the software will be poor. With BrightEdge, there is less filtering compared to other platforms so adoption rate and easy of use will be higher for others when doing keyword research or competitive analysis.
What do you dislike about the product?
The technical SEO aspect when it comes to crawling and site audits are not as robust as other SEO platforms. If it had more Technical SEO data and features in their Content IQ, then it would help the SEO team a lot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The business problems we were trying to solve as a publishing company was finding an easy-to-use SEO platform that our journalists and the SEO Team could both use. The other competitors have very robust SEO tools that are great for SEO people, but would seem too complicated for non-technical people when trying to navigate and apply filters within the platform. BrightEdge had a balance of both where non-tech savvy and the SEO Team could both use the platform to help grow the company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
SEO platforms depend on your flavor. If there were no one else except the SEO team that is using the platform then I would say that BrightEdge is good. If only the SEO team was utilizing BrightEdge, I would like to see more in-depth Technical SEO features like the other platforms offer.
