Strong and Reliable monitoring
What do you like best about the product?
The monitoring is customizable and integrates with multiple applications. Triggers for those notifications and be set with different threseholds
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the alerts can require some major configurations in order to read correct application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to avoid downtimes due to alerts on our applications we are monitoring. This gives us a insight into what applications are having issues prior to a system crash. It also allows us to proactively stop or restart services on those databases.
Great GUI interface, used by many healthcare firms for networking
What do you like best about the product?
Love how expandable the software is. Allowing for basic to detail control and monitoring of server infrastructure and network maintenance and administration.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dislike that most firms I've worked at only use Solarwinds for network monitoring, and not utilizing the ability for it to control and convert more raw data for monitoring and configuration through its add-ons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Taking monitoring data and utilizing it to preset to higher ups. Utilizing it to control physical server infrastructure. Building customized GUI interfaces for specific department uses.
Really useful monitoring tool for tracking down and identifying slow SQL queries
What do you like best about the product?
VividCortex is a very useful tool that we use for evaluating and identifying problematic SQL queries running in our production codebase. After identifying the query, we can use the metadata and details VividCortex tracks to hunt down ways to optimize our queries. VividCortex is also able to give us the raw SQL query that has been used, which is very useful in many of our debugging scenarios. We have been able to catch problematic queries and resolve them before too many users were affected, and we have also been able to mitigate problems effectively in real time as they arose. This product has helped us improve customer satisfaction and minimize the lag times in key transactions our application performs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing much to dislike about the product - it could be designed to be a bit more intuitive or easy to use out of the box, but it should be pretty straightforward with a little bit of guidance. Overall, the interface is still clean, aesthetic, and neat enough from a usability standpoint.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using this software to keep track of key SQL queries in our database. VividCortex allows us to catch, investigate, and fix these small queries in a short amount of time before users see it. This helps us with our customer retention and satisfaction rates.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely consider this product if you or your company rely on key SQL queries to run your application. Being able to track your queries' performance over time and in the moment allows you to foresee issues in your codebase or fix current problems you may be having already.
Simple but powerful tool for centralizing your logs and making them searchable
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to integrate with. Sample code/config has been provided for every scenario I've required. The alerts you can configure based on a search are super useful too.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike is that scrolling through logs in the GUI can feel clunky at times. There are ways to mitigate this, by looking at specific systems or jumping to a certain timestamp. But when you're just scrolling through and you're not quite sure what you're looking for, it can be a little frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Multiple systems/applications are sending their logs to papertrail and we have over a dozen alerts configured to alert the appropriate people (or group) when something goes wrong.
Its a awesome tool for network management.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the network performance monitoring, Server and application monitoring and the network traffic analyser tool very much and i dont have much exposure in other tools of solarwinds.
What do you dislike about the product?
Solarwinds support while trying to do the customization and the cost of the license are am not like in solarwinds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All the network related issue.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its a best tool to have more visibility if we use multiple tools then its will be awesome experience.
Syslog server works well
What do you like best about the product?
It is a pretty good product to review logs and support is great if you need help or just want to learn about the system.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't anything I dislike about Solarwinds Kiwi syslog server
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Network monitoring, archiving logs for future use, alerts to suspicious activity.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Their support is great to work with if you ever have any questions.
Great Product for Monitoring Applications
What do you like best about the product?
We have enjoyed the ability to manage and monitor home grown applications as well as generally available ones. Being able to watch for run away processes and over utilization of things like SQL and AV have been a benefit.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is a little harder to configure that we would like. It has been a good buy for us but it is not as 100% user friendly as we would like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As we stated before, being able to watch for run away processes and over utilization of things like SQL and AV have been a benefit. Also being able to tell is services are installed or not when they are supposed to be has been a good get for us.
