Monitor EVERYTHING
What do you like best about the product?
It's scalable.. you can monitor everything on everything or just some things on some things. Once you figure out the terminology for the different aspects, you can fly around. Search is very flexible.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can take a while to learn terminology and how to navigate efficiently through the software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring multiple aspects in one pane of glass, makes it easy to resolve issues before we get calls.

What do you like best about the product?
WPM gives us great insight into the availability and performance of our websites ensuring high customer satisfaction. With the detailed statistics and history records, it helps you see why problems arose and how best to combat them. The built in alerting brings issues to our attention and helps us rectify them before the customer even realises there was a problem.
What do you dislike about the product?
WPM's cost for multiple or larger websites which rely on more 'transactions' or locations can become expensive if websites are not generating income themselves.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
WPM helps to avoid downtime, keep customer satisfaction high and saves time diagnosing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If concerned over performance or availability for multiple or vital website then WPM can help. If you're not mangaing many sites or are not concerned to much about performance, then it's probably not going to be cost effective.
Under the Hood Visibility
What do you like best about the product?
SRM from Solarwinds is another great product. We have purchased all of the Orion products and integrated them, including DPA. We're able to link SRM and DPA together, thus linking databases to storage, giving a single pane of glass view of the relationship between our storage and databases. Italso provides excellent capacity planning and the reporting elements are also great.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had issues during deployment, in terms of linking our Dell Compellents into SRM. Sometimes the SAN would insert fine, but then stop working a day later. We raised the issue with Solarwinds but didnt really get very far. We would have to stop and start the controller services to regain visibility of the metrics. This is not ideal, obviously.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had no visibility of our SANS in terms of workloads, IOPS, IO and general capacity planning. SRM solved all of these issues. We're now able to correlate performance issues across the infrastructure using SRM.

monitoring of critical systems is accomplished using a mix of custom and out of the box monitoring options

This is a great and full featured monitoring solution. It can be used to apply out of the box templates or create custom monitoring solutions fora variety of software and solutions.
PaperTrail is a great cloud product
What do you like best about the product?
Setup is extremely easy, it took less than 5 minutes to setup my first log.I love the idea that it's an easy to configure solution. I think this will prove to be more reliable of a solution than using email reports or local storage solutions. I think setting up email alerts took way longer to implement.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the jump in cost from the free version to the equivalent storage space in the paid version, to get the same amount of storage after the free trial, you have to go from $0/ month up to $150/ month. . I dislike that they don't have a SMS alerts option, I feel like that would be a logical next step. Another feature I would to see, and I'm surprised they don't offer, unless I missed it, is the ability to send these logs / alerts to Solarwinds MSP, which does give me push notifications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
An easy, consolidated, cloud access solution for all the various logs I need to keep track of. I'm not super experienced with it, but it looks like I can setup a wide variety of devices to send their logs to papertrail
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For servers/ workstations the setup is straightforward, and takes virtually no time at all. More specialized devices/ platforms will take more knowledge and setup time. I don't think I've ever seen a pre-built solution for logs like this. It would take far more work to setup manually.

What do you like best about the product?
The support is great. They have chat, email and phone support 24x7. The dashboard helps you a lot. It has many features that improves your daily work

They are increasing the prices for all their actual clients

Monitoring, patches, av, web protection. Easy to apply scripts. The major benefit is the automatization of process

Try first to check if it fits your needs but it is a great product

What do you like best about the product?
They have an API, which is not really decent, but at least allows to do some basic bulk actions.
Their transactional checks are much better than others on the market have (at least, 6 months ago) -- it is the "scripted" language. When you need to create a lot of checks, at least, you don't need to click elements by mouse with some Chrome extension.
Also, price is very nice for amount of the reports which you can generate.

What do you dislike about the product?
It is not so stable as we want. Every month they have the outages of their site/web-interface, the checks sometimes are failing while everything is completely fine.
Also, the bulk changes are not easy neither through the API not through the web-interface

What do you like best about the product?
I use the papertrail extension in Heroku and it works really well, it gives nice reports about what’s happening and what happened with my Rails app.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the output is not helpful, but it was because of how I had configured it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I want to have better coverage of my app, papertrail helps with that.
Amazing and Incredible monitoring tool
What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is the most i personally liked it. The way it autodiscover and sagrigate the nodes which makes the admin job more easier. Email alert notification makes the tool more trust worthy. The reportting structure is much more impressive. I would recommend every sys admin to have this tool.

So far every function i liked which is most competative in the market.
