What do you like best about the product?
KIP metrics like - Deduplication Rate, Volume Mappings and Hardware Health visibility.
What do you dislike about the product?
Manual Intervention in Mapping the Volume Drives in case of EMC VNX Storage hardware, Issues while discovering Dell Storage Devices sometimes it stops polling and lacks troubleshooting utilities for end administrators like SNMPWALK for network there must be something to dig more deeper without Vendor Support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storage Unavailability in case of Network isolation, Application performance Impact due to Storage and Virtual Environment issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its a nice product works best with EMC Storage and Dell Storage, though it provides support to other vendors as well but needs more work to integrate fully. Sometimes you may find trouble in resolving SRM Product internal bugs since you ahve to rely on support there is no as such utilities available that cn be used by you, if you know debugging with the Log Adjuster and REST API then you are good with this product. But overall no other products in the market provides such information that solarwinds does.

Having control of the entire network and the infrastructure of the company, facilitates the preparation before possible falls of the network

is a practical tool that allows you to have control of the state of the network infrastructure of your company, and thus avoid major problems since in almost real time it creates alerts. I really recommend it!

Excellent solution for Server and Application Monitoring

What do you like best about the product?
SolarWinds Server and Application Monitor is a very robust solution for Server and APM. There are many templates, most supported or developed by the SolarWinds community to monitor various solutions/systems. The solution is very customizable in that you can create custom monitors using many different methods.
What do you dislike about the product?
This solution is great our of the box, however, for custom applications it does take some time to get it setup and running to peak performance. Also, no one environment is a like and therefore industry best practices do not always work so this solution does take time to tune to the specific environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted to be able to monitor all systems and applications from a single source using a solution that was easy to maintain and manage for all users. Since implementing Server and Application Monitor, we have add onto it with the suite of SolarWinds products that has enhancing our monitoring of our network and provided more insight into issues as well as help us discover issues before they impact our end-users. Our uptime is better that with our previous solutions due to the fact that APM can monitor applications and provide historical data to make alerting decisions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the trial and make sure that it works for your needs prior to purchase as this can be expensive depending on your footprint, however, it may also be worth it!

Easy and efficient device monitoring

What do you like best about the product?
I use this tool to monitor and 150+ users access to our private server, which houses our electronic health record system. If they are having clinical/IT issues with the EHR system or any other software that they need access to for their job, I am able to remotely access their desktop and trouble shoot the issue.

SolarWind's chat function is especially helpful when working with users who are not in the same location as me, since we have multiple clinics and clinicians that work in patients' homes. I am able to shadow what they are doing, talk with them through the problem, and then take over and fix whatever patch/update/etc. that is needed.

The system itself is easy to navigate and accessible. I like that there are many ways to search for a device (device number, user logged into it, time, date, etc), which makes it quick and easy to identify users having problems. It is also easy to add or remove users and associated devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice if we could integrate it with our Mobile Device Management system (in the cloud) that we use to monitor our employees' iPhones. Our current MDM system is way less intuitive and far more clicky. Having to go to multiple cloud based sites can be frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows me to solve a variety of users' IT issues. This in turn allows clinicians to get back to work is supporting their clients, and focusing their time on providing services. More services means more revenue and less stress for clinicians who are not tech savvy.

Clinical leadership can also use the product from the perspective of a clinician to analyze ease of use, practicality, and trouble shoot clinical errors

What do you like best about the product?
I have used multiple solarwinds products from the net flow traffic analyzer to the server and application monitor. The SAM is used to monitor the servers and applications your company has. I use it at my current job to monitor over 200 servers and it gives me real time polling data when I need it, I was able to set it up to give me a software inventory of all the servers we have and that helped ensure that all servers were running the right security software among many other softwares.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has a lot of features and there’s always new ones coming out but occasionally you can’t seem to find what your looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring our vast array of servers and applications
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Yes make the switch it is easy to use and there’s documentation and support at every step.

What do you like best about the product?
This software is simple to use and allows us to quickly monitor and respond to server or application issues that arise. Our technicians receive emails if any services or servers crash and it’s displayed cleanly in a browser.
What do you dislike about the product?
Configuration was a bit difficult at first, and the email notification settings are a little sensitive, which causes our techs to receive a lot of emails from the automatic notification mailer. The dashboard occasionally crashes/loses connection as well but that may be an issue with our configuration, not the software itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to quickly determine if we are having any issues with our servers, ensuring minimal downtime for our end users.

SolarWinds is Essential To Your Company's Dashboarding System

What do you like best about the product?
Solarwinds allows you to customize your dashboard to however you wish to display it making it very easy to monitor all the nodes you are tracking. It also allows great organization by allowing you to group monitored nodes. In addition to its easy to use platform, SolarWinds provides alerting via email for all your managed nodes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not have any reservations with this product as it provides great a great dashboarding solution for our wide spread company.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With SolarWinds we are able to monitor our branch offices that are spread all over the United States. We are satisfy our NOC team and provide them a tool to use to monitor our locations and provide white glove service when an incident does occur. We are able to see the issue right away with SolarWind's real time monitoring capability and act upon it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are considering using SolarWinds and your company has multiple branch offices, this product is essential. This product allows your company's IT department endless insight on monitoring branch offices, routers, servers, and even edge devices.
