What do you like best about the product?
SolarWinds provides a great overall single source ability to keep real-time visibility of our network resource's performance and availability.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far it has satisfied all of our needs.

SolarWinds provides a window of assurance monitoring our networks and resources.

Difficult to Install and configure, Less information internet for configuration point of view. Resource Hungry Software

After Setup this Amazing tool for Analysis of Network Traffic, especially when using Voice Over IP, With the help of the product of the Solar wind, we can manage our Network and fine-tune it.

Service management features which are still in iTSM old frame work.

Being proactive in tracking all the IP range for security. Of course security controls

Always stay up to date on all the recommended software and hardware versions
Great Monitoring /Visibility Tool with a lot of extra functionality.
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and has great support to help diagnose and troubleshoot. Alerts can easily be automated to report problems, even after hours, coupled with an excellent user interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the things that I don't like about Solarwinds is that it requires a lot of licenses to run some features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solarwinds resolve the visibility issue that we have using other monitoring tools that we have used in the past. Solarwinds gives is more flexibility in terms of features that we want to use and need.

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy how easy it was to implement, set-up and begin generating my first logs. I also like this as a cloud-based solution vs the other methodologies I've been tasked with using in the past.
What do you dislike about the product?
The manner in which the data is organized/displayed can be a bit clunky/confusing sometimes. I wish there was a more intuitive way to easily sort or organize what I'm looking at in certain scenarios.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're using Papertrail to organize the logs of several systems/apps and have alerts configured based on those reports.
IP Address Management using SolarWinds IP Address Manager
What do you like best about the product?
It allows planning and managing of IP addresses including IPV4 and IPV6 which can be easily tracked, managed and planned how to use them. Have DNS, DHCP administration capability as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes its web interface is slow, also compex to understand initially.

Organizing and tracking of different subnets in large enviornment and same can be managed centrally.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One such product is SolarWinds’ SAM, or Server and Application Monitor. In its simplest form it is a comprehensive server monitoring suite that also gives users the visibility that they need to run custom monitoring solutions for their infrastructure. It is quick and easy to set up and is normally up and running in a few minutes once installed.

What do you like best about the product?
easy to view what IPs are used and you can sort the IPs by subnet.
What do you dislike about the product?
for this kind of IP address management tool, just keep as simple as you can.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To avoid duplicate IP addresses, we used to use an excel spreadsheet to manage all used IP addresses. But it's difficult to keep it up to date.SolarWinds IP Address Manager solved this issue.
The most flexible and diverse NMS tool.
What do you like best about the product?
Multi-vendor support. You can manage products of network switching from Cisco, firewalls from Paulo Alto, and WAN from any other vendors in the same place. The multi-vendor support makes this product more worthwhile purchasing since you don't need to buy a separate NMS for each and every vendor.
What do you dislike about the product?
Specific vendor NMS systems have more monitoring options and details which are not available. Solar winds have just the general tools and options for all vendors. Also, the licensing is not much flexible. The pricing can be a bit more attractive to have small-scale business solutions buy and implement this for their monitoring.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Network management includes but is not limited to hardware or software failures. Automatic backups. Bulk configuration deployments. Bulk software upgrades. Also, the tool gives detailed bandwidth utilization of each device. You can set alerts to monitor your WAN uplinks and give instant alerts if anything fails. Also you can monitor and troubleshoot any network issues related to users from the very tool. The GUI interface makes it easier to find and resolve issues with less time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have all the features you require are supported by solar winds for the product you are planning to monitor.
