Solarwinds Monitoring is Top Notch!
What do you like best about the product?
It can be extremely daunting to monitor your entire stack when you have some stuff in cloud and some stuff on prem. Solarwinds has made this job extremely easy with Hybrid Cloud Observability. You are able to get a full view into your entire infrastructure. Servcies, Networking, Dependencies, you can see it all!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike here. Since Solarwinds was breached two years ago they have made incredible strides to ensure that it wouldn't happen again. That said once something like that happens a reputation can be bruised.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I worked at Cirris we were using Solarwinds to monitor our entire infrastructure and were able gain the visilibity needed to be proactive in monitoring instead of reactive.

Useful tool for answering the question "What's using the pipe?", but not perfect
What do you like best about the product?
It does what it says on the tin, and if you put more effort into it, you get more rewards out. Tool is fairly cheap as bundled with NPM.
What do you dislike about the product?
A little hard to use, setup, understand, edit. You want a senior network staffer onboard. It's harder to work with than most SolarWinds tools for doing anything custom with the data permanently, though this may be changing with the Modern Dashboards feature. (Tests here successful if possibly buggy)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
"What's filled up the pipe that just capped out?" - You go to the pipe, check the netflow integration, and get a decent breakdown of the culprits.
SolarWind SCM is life easy tools for Sysadmins
What do you like best about the product?
SolarWind SCM can give necessary runtime process information details about any kind of application (ours is an in-house developed CBS system) and shows correlations with performance bottleneck or slowdown issues at the service level within the system. This is very helpful for DevOps and system engineers to find what's making application performance slow.
What do you dislike about the product?
Solarwind SCM, an agent-based application requires an agent installed in the monitored system. However, sometimes its required heavy computing resources. Licensing is based on the number of monitored nodes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With SolarWind SCM, it helps to find the root cause of any performance slowdown or bottleneck as quickly as occurs in my environment through its drill-down methods and correlation of full-stack performance monitoring metrics with change data on a single timeline span.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
SCM is very useful to find the root cause for applications like ours which are developed by in-house developers. Our application has several complicated issues in communication with the database and resource consumption, therefore sometimes hard to detect why the performance is slowing down. However, SCM can check and find what services and processes require high computing and memory utilization.
Bangass, tremendously brilliant and superbodacious database monitoring solution.
What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about this software is that it provides in-depth database performance monitoring process thus increasing our organization systems performance. It's a reliable software for that offers troubleshooting and diagnosis capabilities of database issues. This software has top-notch and outstanding customer support team that responds to all our questions on-time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I lack any flaw with this software as it's performance in database performance monitoring is incredible and excellent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This software reduces operational cost and time hence very economical.
Enables ease to track and monitor our organization database health.
Offers instant alerts when database performance issues arises.

Gives complete control on ip managed
What do you like best about the product?
It scans the network and detect all connected devices, we don't have to add device manually.
What do you dislike about the product?
Verbose mode is missing when you scan a target address.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Network management made easy by solarwinds. It gives little endpoint protection type features by managing connected devices in the network.
SolarWinds, greater wins!
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best is their their customer service interface. They are very alert and it seems as if they are always in standby when needed! They are also very helpful and courteous! Love that about them.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't really dislike anything, I would say the system may have a slight glitch from time to time but it's never anything super major. Just slight. But other that that, nothing terrible to add.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems that I am able to solve while using the SolarWinds Log Analyzer are 1. Being able to really indentifying the root cause to anything that isn't coming out right. It's a great trouble shooter. 2.logging has just been super easy and more efficient.
How Pingdom ruined their long-standing relationhip with us
What do you like best about the product?
Technically, it was (and is) a great service, perhaps the best in the industry.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have been a customer of Pingdom for many years checking our servers for uptime. Our customers needed uninterruptable work and we needed to be notified in time when there was downtime.
Up until recently, Pingdom worked very well for us. Unfortunately, a few days ago our customers started to complain that some of our servers were down (for a few hours). It was a minor issue that could be easily fixed in a minute, but we learned about it very late because Pingdom checks didn't work.
When we logged on to our account at Pingdom we saw that our subscription was suspended even though we paid a year ahead in January. When we contacted Pingdom support they told us that they cancelled our account because we were a Russian company and they needed to comply with US export restrictions.
They didn't even bother to warn us about cancelling our subscription. We have been their devoted customer for years and overnight we became enemies for them and they just closed their service for us WITHOUT a warning. Not even a simple email.
Because of this incident many of our customers - from the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and Germany - had to suffer several hours of downtime simply because Pingom had silently turned off our subscription a couple of weeks before the incident and we didn't know about that. We blissfully continued to rely on their monitor alerts and this is how they treated their long-standing customer in the end.
We wouldn't mind them turning off our account because of export control restrictions. But they could at least tell us about it. Overnight we became their hated enemy so much so that they didn't even take the time to tell us "Listen, guys, the US government says that we mustn't have you among our customers so regretfully we have to cancel the subscription. Please, take your time to find another service and don't hold a grudge against us.". And we would say "No problem, thanks for letting us know.". And this would be a civil way to resolve that.
Now, I cannot recommend this service to anyone, especially if your company is outside the US. Technically Pingdom is a great service. However, the idea of a monitoring service is that it should be 100% reliable. But you cannot be sure that your subscription won't be silently turned off by Pingdom when your country is suddenly on a list of enemies (even if you sell on the global market as we do).

Monitoring servers and website for downtime.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Technically is the best platform for monitoring. But you can't rely on it because they can silently turn off your subscription even if paid for, for political reasons.
Best Server Monitoring Service
What do you like best about the product?
I love the flexibility that SAM has. There is a lot out of the box you can do as far as monitoring windows and linux but also a lot of functionality to build out your own custom monitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
SAM is a resource intesnsive application. If you have a large envrionment and have a lot of servers and services to monitor then you are going to need to make sure you have plenty of dedicated resources to run the application. This is even more of an issue too if you are running other Solarwinds products a long side SAM.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Service uptime monitoring and efficiency monitoring. Having SAM has allowed me the ability to not spend near as much time keeping an eye on things. I can get notifications when things go down which in turn lets me get other things done.
Best Application Monitoring tool.
What do you like best about the product?
Overall experience with Solarwinds Server & Application Manager is great. The best part of the this tool is providing detailed information about the application root cause which helping our NOC team to deep down into the issue & best of the solar winds is an its Eco system which connect each application.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, we haven't faced any challenges on this tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Alerting , GUI and Detailed information Issues
