An awesome search experience
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility, scalability, and ease of use are the biggest draws. Algolia's willingness and ability to partner with nonprofits through its Algolia for Open Source program is an amazing offer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Admittedly, very, very little. The hardest thing so far has been integrating Algolia with our WordPress site, but the documentation is helpful and thorough in making it possible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have dozens of references to identical information (e.g. "Region __") and the flexible nature of Algolia's search abilities and the ability to target or limit search queries to certain sections of our site's data is incredibly helpful.

Flexible, powerful API driven search features
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility of Algolia I think is one of its greatest strengths. On the server side, their SDKs are easy to use, but I've also found the raw REST API endpoints simple enough as well. On the client side, I like that they have a library for UI components but also allow you to do the UI completely yourself, and just hit the APIs for searching.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've found little to truly dislike. I have seen that in some cases, the parts of the product that are NOT free, are sometimes not properly explained. For example, when trying to test the Crawler product, I remember the error message wasn't clear that it was part of the paid tier only. That's a minor complaint though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I manage a large content site (six thousand plus blog posts), and Algolia provides an awesome search interface to that and makes it easier for my readers to find content. Heck, it helps me find stuff in my own content as well.
Time is money, and if you are a doing business with web you need the best service.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the speed of the response and the fact that it's easy to set up.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like to have more edge case examples in the documentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Indexed searches are a very annoying task to manage by myself. Algoila solves this issue by giving a complete set of tools to create a very, very fast and user-friendly search engine for my web apps.
Algolia is a wonderful search service! Highly recommend.
What do you like best about the product?
Algolia helps my team and I to efficiently search through a large database and provide an impeccable customer experience. The InstantSearch.js + React Hooks API is unrivaled.
What do you dislike about the product?
The 100kb file size limit for records can be a little difficult to work around. I understand the concerns behind not letting people "game" the billing system. However, it would be most optimal if users are billed additionally per >100kb record, rounded up to the nearest 100 and divided by 100. (e.g., a 140kb record would be 2x the price of a regular record because 140 rounded up becomes 200, divided by 100 becomes 2; similarly, a 540kb record would be billed at 6x the regular rate).

Algolia's automatic indexing of Firestore objects helps me because I don't have to manually reindex my data. I am more productive and can focus on other things.
Fast to setup, easy to monitor
What do you like best about the product?
Algolia docsearch is pretty quick to setup with docusaurus and dashboard is easy to read. You can also expose the API to force an indexation, which means you can integrate into the CI pipeline. Pretty neat.
What do you dislike about the product?
The manual check for Docsearch is required for Open Source project. It would be great to have this automated and avoid to communicate by mails. We would also like to do the manual check before the project is exposed to the public.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem Algolia solves is the search engine and the indexation of the whole website, which can take a long time to setup if done manually. It also moves the responsability to Algolia to assure a good quality of service.
Algolia is my go to search solution but it’s a whole lot more
What do you like best about the product?
Algolia is helpful because they have a great documentation and a powerful suite of features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the more technical features are harder to use but I understand why, it's a complex product, but it's also the simplest and best that's out there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Algolia is helping us solve the problem of search and discovery within our customers sites and in our dashboard applications.
Very Simple and Very powerfull
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility and how easy to use it is out of the box.

its very stable and works 100%
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Algolia to index huge datasets and then be able to quickly find the data our applications needs
Algolia is so much more than a search index
What do you like best about the product?
Algolia is super reliable with no noticed downtime across the five or more years of using it. In addition to it being lightning fast, we ended up using it to power our searching and filtering across certain content pages in addition to it powering our search.
What do you dislike about the product?
One downside to consider is that running multiple environments on different payment plans so that you are not overpaying for your development data, there was no easy way to migrate settings from indices from one plan to another under the same organization. This meant that all index configuration had to be painstakingly checked and carbon copied when needing to test something on a non-production environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We initially used algolia just to power search, but quickly realized it was a solution to allow administration tools to quickly find and published content, as well as powering content filtering and categorization for certain listings pages.
Algolia is easy to integrate, it has also great documentation and & support service.
What do you like best about the product?
It's extremely easy to integrate. It took under 1 BD to integrate Algolia for the NGO SaaS that I'm managing. The fuzzy search is completely out of the box, no configuration is needed at all. Before I integrate Algolia I was able to easily import test data and test the actual implementation with demo that Algolia provided. This took under 10 mins.
What do you dislike about the product?
No downsides until now. I'm happy with the service as it is. There seems to be some out of sync communication with representative contacting me over email and phone, but this is nothing irritating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping the dummy search engine that was bild with exact match in mobile apps. Alternative option was to use solr, but it needed extra ram and wasn't feasible to integrate. Algolia is now able to feed the apps with results that might have typo in them. This is also saving our customer service unnecessary tickets.
Fastest solution to market for the easiest to use elasticsearch as a service.
What do you like best about the product?
Easy integration as well as extensive documentation around integrating with Algolia in the code. UX for business users to update/manage search as well was a huge boon.
What do you dislike about the product?
The react library left a lot to be wanted. Recent improvements by algolia have helped improve the integration with our frontend. Recent UX/UI changes have made it harder to navigate around the site.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Algolia is solving the problem of maintaining and paying for an internal instance of elastic search while also providing cutting edge extensions to the search they provide.
