What is our primary use case?
Algolia is used in my organization primarily for AI search to enhance product search for recommendations. It helps us support our knowledge bases, particularly Confluence, and maximizes the outcome of our knowledge base system. Algolia also helps us search for documents and data, making everything efficient and saving considerable time since we no longer have to search manually through all our data. Additionally, it provides personalized content delivery on both web and mobile platforms, which we use throughout our organization.
Last week, I can share a story about how Algolia specifically helps us with AI search. We were searching for some really important documents, specifically a BRD that the business had provided. Due to internal complexities and the volume of data, we were unable to find it. When we searched using Algolia, the AI-powered relevance and ML algorithms optimized the search results and provided us with the exact document with utmost accuracy and personalization. What is most valuable?
Algolia has multiple features, but the one I love most is the AI-powered relevance, which helps us search anything within our systems. It ensures that search results are optimized using accuracy and personalization for our organization. The second feature I value is real-time indexing, which provides instant updates and ensures that search results reflect the latest content and inventory. Additionally, Algolia tailors search based on user behavior. For example, as a user, it tailors the behavior by giving preferences and context. It works on LLM models, which is the main reason they are able to personalize behavior. Another feature I appreciate is the ability to monitor search performance and conversion metrics.
The reason Algolia's AI-powered relevance and real-time indexing have made a difference is that the features provided have given us an outstanding service. It works extremely well with no downtime, no defects, and no bugs. Whatever we search for, it provides instant results. That is why we prefer them over others.
What needs improvement?
Algolia provides good value for money. However, personally, I feel the UI is a bit difficult to understand and could be more user-centric.
The navigation part of Algolia is different from other tools, which makes it difficult for newcomers. It could be easier based on my understanding.
I am deducting one point for future improvements and the UI experience it provides. It can definitely be improved.

Algolia is stable and does not provide any lags or crashes. It works well.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Scalability of Algolia is great. It can work for small, medium, and large enterprises and can support high traffic in large instances. It is a very scalable solution.
How are customer service and support?
The customer support was excellent. We contacted them last month when we were facing a challenge with one of our deployments in a new system. They responded to our query within thirty minutes, which was really impressive.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Before using Algolia, we did not use any solution for this particular purpose. Algolia is the first time we are using this type of solution. While we were evaluating Algolia, we conducted research and found different competitors including Amazon CloudSearch, Google Cloud Search, and Microsoft Azure Search. However, they were considerably costlier, which is why we did not go with them.
How was the initial setup?
The configuration process of Algolia was really good. It was working well when we joined, and until now, we do not feel there is a problem in the configuration part.
What about the implementation team?
The integration of Algolia was excellent and was not difficult at all. Our internal team consists of technical experts, so they did not face any challenges, and the initial setup was completed well with custom data sources and the workflow.
The integration part of Algolia is really strong. It provides a good number of integrations within the tool. Whatever tools we are using inside the organization, whether Confluence, Jira, or others, it integrates well and provides relevant searches for what we need to find. The pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Algolia are based on a pay-as-you-go model, which is very efficient. The costs are very transparent and have detailed breakdowns for any kind of queries called and additional features, which makes it easy to forecast and manage the spend our organization is doing with them. This makes it excellent value for us.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
The alternative options we evaluated were Amazon CloudSearch, Microsoft Azure Search, Google Search, and Typesense.

Algolia works like a search engine for our website and this tool help our customers to search for the products and services that they are looking for in our website. The overalls cost of maintaining algolia is not fixed as whenever the traffic of our website increases the cost of managing algolia also increases so this is a platform which has was unfixed expenses every month and it is not sustainable in long-term for any business.

The documentation is very easy to follow and well maintained. Searching for any service or product is incredibly fast, almost like having your own personal Google. It also integrates easily with any software.
What do you dislike about the product?
The advanced features can be somewhat challenging to learn, especially when it comes to using the filtering and search box, as well as other functionalities. Additionally, there are only a limited number of tutorials available for beginners who want to learn Algolia. At the moment, however, I don't have any dislikes.

It provides information and product usage details very quickly, without any delay, which is very helpful for users. Previously, finding information was slow and time-consuming, but now, thanks to this, it saves users a lot of time.

The features are good, the interface is user friendly, easy for beginners, even those who don't know how to code, you can loop in your team and work easily on this. Doesn't crash even with heavy and continuous usage.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing is a little on the higher side, might not be suitable for smaller scale companies/ individuals trying it on a smaller scale. Might not be feasible for absolute beginners.

Ease of browsing, is able to capture most of the products on the platforms along with clear descriptions. Easy to compare the products, and fairly accurate descriptions generated.
