One password to rule them all
What do you like best about the product?
JAMF connect allows you to integrate with your IDP to synchronize the login on your Mac with your IDP Password. We use Okta and the integration is very easy to setup and maintain.
What do you dislike about the product?
What is there to dislike? Not much. You just need to ensure that you set up JAMF Connect correctly so that it recognizes when the Okta password has been recently changed so JAMF connect can prompt the user to update their local Mac Password, which is stored in Keychain.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Protects logins to Macs by synchronizing the IDP Okta password with the local machine. Now users have one less extra password to worry about. Previouly some users had very simple passwords.

The setup of Jamf Connect is incredibly easy! The Jamf Connect Configuration Tool gets the app ready to go with your current IdP's settings and provides a configuration ready to upload into Jamf Pro.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that as the product matures more, the documentation of all features will also be expanded upon, including things like Jamf Connect Notify.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to keep our directory passwords in sync with our local accounts while giving our users the freedom to work anywhere!

Attempting to make life easier
What do you like best about the product?
This product is exceptional in it's function to bring no touch, unbound domain devices into smaller organizations.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only limitations I've found are imposed by Apple. There are some critical holes required for JAMF connect to work in my environment, including smart card support, and user certificate based wifi login.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's helping us automate much of the user experience. This means less technical assistance to end users. More reproducible setups, and encouraging end user expectations with ease of use.
Jamf Connect provides a great tool for your Organization to enforce passwords and privileges
What do you like best about the product?
The integration with the JAMF PRO MDM made this product seamless with existing device management. This made setup easy and the deployment went well. Jamf Connect having this integration made a complicated process, simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
Troubleshooting JAMF Connect could be made easier with better logging and troubleshooting tools. Jamf connect also has some minor graphical bugs that will hopefully be patched out on later updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JAMF Connect is helping us to ensure password compliance with our tech stack. It is also helping us to manage our privileges with local accounts on our macOS Fleet.
Solves the binding problem that macadmins need to fix
What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Connect is easy to set up and solves major issues with account creation in an educational setting. We are now using it for our students and teachers and it's working flawlessly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a whole lot. If I had to say one thing I would say that the UI can be a bit clunky at times, but really other than that I see no issues with it and am pretty happy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Again talking about binding. Jamf connect allows us to unbind our macs. It's a small tool that does a whole lot for you. It's now the bridge to our identity provider.
Jamf Connect makes integrating IdP easy
What do you like best about the product?
The most important part of Jamf Connect for my project was moving away from using Active Directory as an authentication/authorization source for our Mac fleet. Our AD is not exposed outside the campus border routers, so we had a situation with remote workers (COVID pretty much prompted addressing this). Jamf Connect made it easy to connect to our Okta IdP and support secure off-campus work situations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the options and configurations are a little obscure. The installation engineer from Jamf was a huge help, but I think the Jamf Connect documentation could stand a little improvement to make it more robust and complete. There are also a couple of instances of quirky or not-optimal behavior, the most annoying of which probably being the fact that you have to reactivate Jamf Connect after a macOS system upgrade. Hopefully they will have a fix for that soon. Right now, we are scripting around it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Connect allows us to securely support alternative working conditions off-site by providing a method to link our macOS fleet to our cloud-based IdP, Okta. This is a very important function these days, as much of the workforce is now operating in a hybrid or remote mode. Jamf Connect is a pretty straightforward utility that allows us to maintain security on remote systems connecting to enterprise resources.
